I think you need to set up ActiveSync Connection And Run the EXE on your Computer and then it will place and install the Cab on your device.

Active sync 4.5 does not work with Vista, you need to install Windows Mobile Device Center.
it wont work i used the cd and it wont install
google it
try searching google for windows mobile device centre
Maybe get a Mac.

First Step, Get a Real Operating System.
As soon as I can get OpenSync Working on my ubuntu Drake Set up I will no longer need XP
But try downloading Device Center From the Site. I had the same problem where it wouldn't install from the CD either on my old Vista Machine. But when I downloaded it from the website it installed a'ok.
Device Center
I ran across the same issue when I upgraded to Vista. I had to also go download the program necessary for installing anything to my device:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/device-center.mspx
Basically install it, then connect your device to the PC and install like normal. When your done make sure to check your program folder to make sure it is in there.
If it was Handango you got this through, they are usually pretty good at helping with this sort of thing. So if my suggestion doesn't work for you they might help.

How to install .exe on HTC TyTn II - WM6.1 ?

Hi all.
How can I install .exe packed software (like Adobe Reader and others) over
Windows Mobile 6.1 of HTC TyTn II Kaiser ?
On it (wm6) there isn't an [execute program] functionality or an [install program] one.
TIA

1. Copy the .exe file to your PC.
2. Connect your TytnII to your PC using the USB cable.
3. Ensure ActiveSync is running & has connected the mob phone.
4. Double-click the .exe file & follow the instructions.

First of all, your font is annoying and secondly, your post is even less appealing. Please don't post in that font again.

Ummm...It would be far better if you posted the right side up. We do not use our pc's upside down. I am sure that a Mod will talk to you about this.
And if you cannot or do not want to help another forumite, then search Google or search the forum on how to be polite and stop wasting bandwidth.
Where do I find ActiveSync software ?!
Thanks, tytnrolz.
I bought my Kaiser without the CD from factor nor operator.
There is an .iso file from this CD on the net ?
BTW, I need to run ActiveSync on PC and point the installation software to TyTN?
TIA
MN
Are you using Windows XP or Windows Vista?
If XP - download ActiveSync 4.5.
If Vista - download Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1.
Also, you only need to install it on your computer. The only things that you would be missing from the CD is a trial version of Microsoft Outlook and ActiveSync (which I provided download links for from Microsoft). Therefore I wouldn't waste my time in looking for it. You probably won't find it

Way to have a sense of humor boys and girls, I thought it was funny imagining everyone trying to turn their heads upside down to read it.
And he was right, a search would have provided answers.

Hello,
I am very new to this, so please dont mind if my question seems to be silly.
I tried to install an exe file as you have told above. but the application is getting installed only in PC and not in phone. COuld you please guide me?
You can look for a .cab better and installed directly in your phone though

Chances are that it is not a PPc application. Copy it to your phone, if it is a PPC app it should install on your phone.

I've try that...
but PC still can't read internal memory
So when you connect your phone you don't see something called local device?
Did you install the right version of activesync? Because some versions of windows for pc (like windows vista) cause problems with Activesync, and you need something called Mobile Device Center (I think, because I have it in dutch)

Nope, Win XP cannot automatically synch with Windows Mobile devices. You have to install the latest version of active synch on your pc in order to connect your Xperia to the pc.

Once you're connected with ActiveSync, look for an icon marked something like "explore". It'll pull up a file explorer that'll let you bring up phone memory on your pc

Don't know if I got you correct: in any case you will only be able to see the internal file system, but not the individual contacts. Notes are separate .pwi files - but the contacts are not stored as separate files.
If you see the green orb spinning in your systray during sync you are using ActiveSync, otherwise I assume you're connected differently.
Once the AS connection is up and running you will see a "Mobile Device" in My Computer, doubleclick that and you'll see the "My Documents" internal folder of your phone. Click on "My Windows Mobile device" (or similar, don't have an english version at hand) to see internal root directory in a new window.

file manager

Is there anything like a file manager to have better controll where files are located. Anyway to pen the folders provided by the SamsngATIV-S
At this time no.
There is none which doesn't make sense to me because I can plug in my Lumina 822 to my PC and see my files that way. :silly:

WP8 does not allow any OS file access at all.
WP8 + Surface Pro = File explorer anywhere. Seems legit.

I don't have a problem copying files to it from my Windows 8.1 PC. Do you have USB Debugging enabled in Developer Options?
