androidinstall.tar 1.5 needed - Touch CDMA Android Development

Anyone have an androidinstall.tar for android 1.5 for vogue 320?? Eclair is just running way to slow for me.

Agreed. This is just as stable and probably faster than 1.5. Also, there is a plethora of themes to choose from. Best vogue-android rom out there atm, imo.

mssmison is also coming out with a new 2.1 rom very soon here, and from what it sounds like it's gonna be pretty fast. So you might wanna hold out for that too.

Thank you very much! Works awesome compared to eclair and nicer than 1.5!

What is the most stable HERO ROM?

I'm looking for a stable, pure HERO ROM. What I mean by pure is no blur garbage (red colors or bouncing) or custom boot screens. Recently we've had a flood of new HERO ROM's posted by various different people. Ironically, these ROM's have had the exact same issues i.e. flash not working. Which makes me beg the questions, is there just one solid developer of these HERO ROM's and just a bunch of biters? That's neither here nor there. I just want a stable, pure HERO ROM. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

ahhh man. I didn't want people's random opinions. I just want the facts. I will try akirah's out. I'm just so sick of flashing hero roms. I think i've flashed all the popular ones. We just got 3-4 new hero roms in the past day or so. Really fast, just the fact that most of them are missing flash is a huge let down. That to me is basic HERO ROM guts.

don't you love these "opinions" saying wait for a port isn't really a solution to a hero rom problem. or is it? i don't know very much, at all. never will.
@david1171
LOL! Yeah, this akirah hero2 is working out just fine. I like the fact that you can simply upgrade the rom without wiping. It's the first hero rom i've seem to do that. Awesome!
special thanks goes out to brian_v3ntura for recommending hero2 1.51, it is what he has said in almost every hero thread, so i would imagine it to work.
Quick question: Is the problems that I was having in KingKlick's 2.0 ROM
- GPS location not working (thinking my current city was "Denver" - when I'm in AZ)
- Paid applications not showing in market/downloading
Normal of all Hero ROMs? Or should I give some of the other ones a shot?

Best hero ro

I have not used a hero rom for a bout 6 months now..and I would like to know which is the fastes and more stable rom for me to try...thanks
Flash any hero rom and you'll notice they're relatively the same.
I've flashed probably about 70% of all the Hero roms out right now, and by far, King's 2.2 Hero rom is still the fastest and most stable

Right now I have something running not sure what it is but it's on my SDCard
I have to boot to WinMo and run Haret to load Android.
Would a NAND install be better if so which one.
And can someone clarify the terminology: what is the difference between zImage.nbh system.img and etc etc.

works well in all i have put it against.
I agree myn or plemen's donut builds are stable fast and just work (plemen stopped updating his, though).
consider mssmison's eclair as well. fairly stable (donut still more stable at this point), but more features (thanks to 2.1 - slide to unlock, voice to text works better, native eclair dialer/contacts, among others), but no phone audio bluetooth or camera yet. it runs very fast if you stick with the default launcher and dialer. it is my everyday build right now, will get a major update in about a week.

What is the Best/Fastest Build for Vogue?

I have tried all the following, but haven't seem to have found the "perfect" match yet... Some have "all the bells & whistles", but get slow after the initial install (especially the dialer/call log takes awhile to come up)... Others are pretty quick, but lack some of the features of the newer builds...
Anyone have some recommendations on what they use, what's quick, yet still functional?

Myns Warm donut will always be #1. Most stable build of all time.
My Tattoo donut is very smooth and fast and probably my favorate but has a battery drain issue that im working on.
Myns Eclair is a very nice build that keeps getting better. Some people complain of dialer speed issues
My cmod eclair is pretty nice and I'm probably updating that build today with cmod 5.0.8 test 4 and its alot faster.
My Super eclair lite is very fast but has incoming text issues that are unecceptable. I will try and fix this in the future.
Super Hero is fast for being hvga and sense but not fast enough for everyday use. Slow incoming calls. Fun to play with though.

I've used myn's warm eclair and Incubus26Jc's SuperE Cyanogenmod Eclair and both are great, but the Kaffe build is better for me.
currently running superE with acceptable success
MYN is a great chef, doughnut was great-
eclair-beta has some issues- but its gonna get better
tattoo is a good build as well.
the neat thing about android, just like fine wine, gets better with time.
easy enough to swap builds.... try one a day and move on til you find one that works for you. just be careful of the install specs. some are particular about how they are installed- example SuperHero/Eclair
all have just about the same issues, just depends on what you are wanting
good luck
remember when you try a build, the chef always likes to hear what you think... dont forget to post

Dzo's odex'd build has to be the fastest donut i've used - http://www.mediafire.com/?qjyniynyqzz, as for features you can add them yourself to /system/app and rerun the odex script
One more more for DZO
I am using DZO barebone build, very happy with stability, speed and battery life. I even like the blue plastic theme ... As *M* said, you can add the features you like yourself ..

I have 2 Vogues so I ran Dzo's build on one and Myn's on the other. The speed difference was quite noticeable with Dzo.
the VaniljEclair build has my vote, the .odex must really speed things up because that build has no frills but is very comparable to warm donut for speed.

definitely, and myn's builds are intentionally left deodexed for easy theming. someone should odex myn's donut and see if their phone lifts out of their hand

Put all the .apk's from myn's warm donut (or any other build of choice) in an androidupdate.tar in the folder /data/devapp and install them on a phone running VaniljEclair RLS3b. Then open an terminal and type this:
$ su
# devodex.sh
<wait for the script to finish odexing /data/devapp/*.apk)
# mkdir /sdcard/devapp
# cp /data/devapp/* /sdcard/devapp
Now you have the apk's odexed and zipaligned on your /sdcard. Use 7-zip to put the new .apk's (and .odex) back into the build you extracted them from.
Keep in mind that they will take up more space now so if you are on NAND it may no longer fit.
To make a full conversion you also need to do the same with the .jar files in /system/framework but you'll have to (temporary) rename them to .apk (or change the script) to make devodex.sh recognize them.

2.3.7 to 2.1?

Alright, so I've been searching around for a few hours now with no luck on this. I'm a bit new to all this and haven't really messed with my Hero in about a year except for updating Cyanogenmod every now and then.
I'm currently running CM7 and was trying to get my HTC Hero (CDMA) back to stock (or at least to a point where I can use HTC Sync). I've tried flashing a few ROMs, but I either get stuck in a boot loop or they fail to install. I'm not sure if I'm right in saying this, but is it because I'm running 2.3.7 and trying to install older ones from 2.1? I've looked for guides on how to downgrade, but I can't seem to find any; almost everything I find is really outdated.
I don't necessarily need to go to 2.1 if I can flash a ROM that allows me to access HTC Sync, but I haven't had much luck finding that either. If someone could point me in the right direction or tell me where I'm going wrong I would greatly appreciate it.
htc sync is just the software that installs all your drivers automatically but if your on an aosp rom you can still install them individually. If you really want to go to stock that badly id just use nfx stock its rooted but still completely stock.
The reason I was trying to get a ROM with HTC Sync was so I could use a method from theunlockr website (it won't allow me to post a link).
Anyway, I finally managed to flash Zero Hero Sense to it, but it runs so slow. I now have HTC Sync on it and I'm pretty sure I know how to unroot it from here, but I was wondering before I do if there is a stable 2.3 ROM that is really quick; I'm only searching for performance.
Kushdeck or jaybob are the fast, But using Aosp's 2.2 version 9.9.2 was the fastest compared to any other rom I've used.

Thanks! Trying them now.
with zero hero it seems to me you need to let it run for a little while, mine smoothed out after about a day of running it and is actually quite snappy for a rom that should max out our devices
or you can try cyanogenmod stable, its quite fast

Maybe I should try leaving zero hero on there a bit longer, I really liked the look of it.
