I would like to delete one of the original wallpapers....is it posible?

anyways, just open up launcher.apk, and edit the wallpaper that you want to remove (ie change it for something different), dont remove it though.
...is this because of the new controversial cyanogen wallpaper?

haha its not really contriversal just some guys like his ROM and some of us do have a female in our lives that looks through the phone.
So when she looks in there she will see it and slap us...
reason im afraid to let her see my phone right now....
Hope he does take it out but really I have no problem with it just that...
and the guys at church...yeah... hope it does get removed lol

you could use them on the home screens with a paid app called better cut...
Can any of these themes posted here work with the HTC Hero?
Who knows what is what right now. This subforum is a GIANT MESS right now. Every OP will have to go back and specify which theme is for which device. This was a foolish idea to mix everything up like this! BAD IDEA.....

I agree very bad idea what was wrong with old way XDA has changed alot over past year or so not for the good
I agree, this whole moving thing is just one more fu*k up that XDA didnt need... what the hell was wrong with the way it was??? i thought it was fine, but now its a giant mess and getting worse... thanks!!!

I completely agree the three previous comments.
please put it back the way it was!
this is just a giant cluster f**k now (which will get worse once more android devices come out i imagine), even when/if all the OP are updated to specify which theme works for which ROM/phone itll still be a cluster ball and a lot to scroll through looking for ur specific ROM/phone
and im sure there will still be posts in the thread asking if this theme works with so and so phone/ROM or port to this phone or that phone because it is all mashed together.

Well, ROMs are device specific and all the themes list the ROMs which they are build for.
So why the need to list the device?

i was just thinking it might be easier for some people to just scan for HTC Hero (or whatever device) instead of glazing over the diff build numbers and names, but u do have a point
kinda redundant i guess huh lol
the thing that bugs me is that its just all lumped together
kinda lame to have to scroll through a buncha stuff that doesnt mean anything to me to pick out what does

i really like a lot of themes for example darchstar but i can't morph it on my hero!!
I can't create themes but for me the images on framework-res are similiar on all devices

It's only gotten worse for the hero. There is the gsm version and the cdma ones. There is also 1.5 and 2.1 out plus the custom roms such as Fresh and Modaco. Haven't seen a theme for this yet.
Go to the Themes subforum for the Hero. You are not going to find metamorph themes or very many flashable themes, but you'll have several options to apply ROMs with themes already in place.
If all else fails you can create your own by pulling files and packaging them up as a theme you like. Be sure to give credit where it's due.

Incorrect... The Cyanogen Mod 5.0.7-8 will work with HTC Hero ROM DarchDroid v2.6.5... Moving the eri.xml.
I've ran Nexus Themes for Cyanogen and a couple from here.

with the new app that was released to create LWPs, i was hoping someone could develop this? i tried it, but it just didnt come out right for me..... ill gladly donate if someone were to bring this to fruition.
I just wanted to say how ez it was to pose as some noob ... (samsungfan05) on IRC and get the knowledge of how to change the status bar on Generation X to the Revolution 3.6 solid black bar. All you have to do is, go into the framework.apk that is in your theme that you want to use as the base using your rar/zip program and drag n drop the images from the framework in the theme you want to take stuff out of, into res/drawable-hdpi in the base themes framework.apk ... APKs evidently open up with zip programs so i could have been doing this since i had my nexus one. hell i think i might post my dock i used and made for my iphone it was hella slicc. The whole process is really simple as hell I just wanted anyone that wondered if you can do this sort of thing (i used to decompile and customize themes like hell on iOS) in android, you can. it's not any more involved either... just drag n drop. if you can't pull that off... kill yourself.
So, no more can you port this theme threads for me, i'm just going do the **** myself... or if someone has a requests, for a generous donation, i will port it for you since I am well on the way to doing so. Peace
There is actually a lot more to it.then just editing the drawable hdpi.folder in the framework...,most of make at.minimum edits to over to.xml.files in the frameworks......and use smali/backsmali to edit the service.jars
Also why did you have to pose as someone else to get information...,everyone is more than willing to share what they know

good point...personally i refuse to take donations for theme ports and ive done like 5 or 6 at this point....but really again...there is much more to themes than drag and drop

There really is. I've been playing with it a bit in an attempt to port the NeonGT theme from the i9000 but there's more to it than swapping a few .png's and apparently I'm not totally getting it yet. A few more hours of learning and I think I'll have it down though.

in terms of total number of files? then yeah its mostly pngs...but really the xml edits are what do it imo

however I do understand all the work that goes in to it.
I'd like learn about this kind of stuff, is therea tutorial or overview anywhere?

theres not one tutorial per say (well updated one) personally i scoured xda/mydroidworld/af and bit by bit have found most of what ive needed...its kinda jumbled
