I have version 4.57 and my message box where I type is messed up. I can't see what I type. I've attached a picture for example. I tried different versions but all is still the same. Is it my ROM? I have udKs 8.0..Duttys ROM worked fine but I changed to udK...I even tried hard resetting but still the same problem...anyone has this problem?
nothing comes close to IM+ ..only Agile is #1 i'd say... and Slick messenger doesnt have mobile buddys for AIM...
thanks!
No replies eh? Shame because I have the exact same problem.

Well, if you DID hard reset and still have the same problem, then it must be your ROM. I don't have this kinda of issue so far.
BTW, 4.58 is released.
Nghiem, I tried 4.58 and I got the same results.
Anyway, I'm moving on to JiveTalk now.
It's the rom. Something with the OS is not meshing well with IM+. In my experience IM+ will only work with WM6.1 OS version 19170 and 19716 and older. There are also some hybrid roms that are based on 19716 where IM+ may work, but I personally have not tested them.
I currently use my own cleaned up version of 3.02 with 19170 OS and all my programs work great. Hope this helps.
I'm having this problem too... I've been using IM+ for quite a while with WM5 rom and it did ran smoothly without any problem. Just I upgraded to WM6.1 rom, I can't use IM+ anymore: everytime when I click on someone to open up the message box, the program just shuts down, I never can type any message to anyone
I hope there'll be a way to fix this problem soon coz' I like IM+ and don't wanna downgrade my machine!
try dutty's new 19700 build, works fine with that
The new version (currently in beta) might work better. Check their website to see if it's put up yet.
I'm using WM6 so far, so I haven't seen any problems, but those of you who are, can you turn on debugging/logging and send Shape Services the log files, if it creates some?
They're pretty good about helping, albeit they are sometimes a little slow to respond. I used IM+ on my Palm for quite a while and worked with them several times over bugs.

Yeah working fine on xp,but didn't work in vista
I can't seem to maintain a connection.
My desktop starts to read the card and then the connection drops. Didn't have this problem until I upgraded to WM6.1
I'm using shogunmark's Deathv4 rom if that matters.
Works fine..... thanks....
WM 6.1
Hi,
I've downloaded the latest version today, and am still having problems with it. When I exit CEII, it crashes Magic Button, IBE Lite, etc., and I have to perform a soft reset to bring everything back. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Dave
If you installed Magic Button, IBE Lite, etc. on storage card, maybe reinstalling them on main device memory helps.
Any other suggestions than moving items to Main Memory?
Hi,
Sorry for taking so long to get back to this post. I've had a few things going on, and frankly I tried some other ways to get this to work, but keep coming back to CEII being the best way to synchronize.
I have not tried moving Magic Button, etc. to main memory because I basically don't put anything in main memory to keep it freed up. Would there be any other suggestions to try to get it to work? It crashes the programs every time I use it...
Thanks,
Dave
Hey everybody, problem is as follows:
Installation works without problems, and after disabling HTC Home it starts properly. Everything seems to work fine, but after a few minutes of navigation it crashes! Screen freezes and no input is possible. Only way to get out is a soft reset.
does anybody have an idea how to solve the issue? would be thankfull for every suggestion!
by the way, I use Dutty's latest ROM [Jun 07] (Dutty's Diamond V1 Build 19588)
greetings!
ok... it's even worse now!
i uninstalled and reinstalled IGO8. and now it doesn't even start up anymore. well it tries to. the starting screen shows up, and it starts processing. but at some point the whole device (kaiser) just collapses and starts up completely new!
please! someone tell me whats going on!
First: Search in rom tread
Secound: Post rom related question in rom tread (yes this is rom related)
This issue been discussed in about every new build tread since Duttys april 29 hybrid. You will find youre answer in V1 tread, and before you flip. Its normal, youre kaiser isnt dying
Just desactivate AGPS :
Edit the registry HKLM/Software/HTC/SUPL AGPS/
Set 0 to EnableAGPS key.
Restart your kaiser, relaunch IGO8 and enjoy
DrQ is half-right...
You also need to disable HTC-Home if you're under WM6.1 AFAIK.
thanks for your answers...
even though I'm quite new to all of this, I found out myself that aGPS and HTC have to be disabled. I did both, but the problem exists. that's why I posted.
raiisak, thanks for your comment! I think you're also talking bout the aGPS and HTC-home disabling "fix" ... cause I looked over the Dutty V1 thread more than once without finding an other post concerning this problem...
I guess I will just do what Dutty did: going back to his APR 29th build. That one was stable and everything worked without problems. also I share his opinion that 6.1 sucks.
regards!
No.. iGO8 crashes like *crazy* on my stock ATT Tilt (shipped ROM/Radio/etc). If it doesn't crash it locks it up and I have to poke the reset hole.
I'll try disabling AGPS to see if that helps.. I don't have HTC Home installed, although I did a while back.

AT&T Stock with Bloat? Cause th bloat really makes the Tilt suck.
As long as HTC Home isn't running. Igo and HTC Home share a file. But like twin brothers they don't share it well.
You need to dump dutty
I wasted hours of my life getting iGo8 to work with my Kaiser. Unfortunately it's a bigger problem than just uninstalling HTC Home (if you can) and disabling A-GPS.
In the end I dumped Dutty and flashed L26_Kaiser_Diamond_V8_light release by Laurentius26. This solved all the problems. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400118
Only thing that doesn't work with this ROM are custom keyboards (SIP), such as PCM Keyboard. Apart from that iGo8 works a treat

You have to disable HTC Home, and disable A-GPS to get iGO8 to work under WM6.1.

I run IGO8 with Dutty's Diamond V1 without problems (if I disable HTC Home, that is). The reboots have something with either the legality of your IGO8 release, or with the fact that you dumped to many POI files in the POI directory (i.e. all available countries). In Dutty's Hybrid V2 this was not an issue, and it must have something to do with memory management in the Diamond ROM.
@mb: different ROMs work best for different people, no need to be a fanboy.

As mentioned in this thread, AGPS fixes it. Very odd. iGO has some quirky bugs.. This one I would consider a MAJOR bug, but oh well.. Another bug I noticed (and is on their website in the FAQS) is that their timezone/system time from GPS functionality is hosed.. Always wind up with the time on the PDA being GMT. Have to fiddle to get it to set the time right then disable that functionality or disable it and fix it in WM.
Otherwise, it seems to work well enough.. Wish I had 3d/buildings here to look at, but otherwise the maps look pretty nice with parks and such outlined. Still looking into how to add my own POI's without some silly .net gui in Windows to do it.

Just to be pedantic; AGPS is a problem in WM6.0 as well. WM6.1 may require the additional step of disabling HTC Home.

No. IGO8 works with HTC Home in Dutty's WM6.1 Hybrid V2. It really depends on the OS version in the specific ROM, be it WM6 or WM6.1.
Tried the rest and went back to the Best. Duttys April 29th Hybrid is staying on my tytn2 now . Dutty will be missed here.

Hi Everyone...
I have had mt HTC 8925 (AT&T Tilt Branded) for well over a year... I use this phone daily and love it... I have never flashed a new rom to it since I flashed the most updated at the time AT&T stock rom that was out the day I got it... It is still running on WM 6.0 and is great for the most part... Only real modification was I did the reset trick to advoid the bloatware... After trying MANY programs, some I liked & kept... others I removed... I have finally run into a snag where I am willing to flash and start over to fix the issue (my tomtom traffic won't update anymore, and after much trouble shooting, TomTom and myself think I need to "Reset the Tilt to factory settings" or flash it to a new rom... I was hoping to get some advice from you guys to which rom should suite me best... Here are some details..
The phone is unlocked, and I use Einstein Wireless for service... so I do not need AT&T or Tmobile settings on there, and I prefer no hidden proxies or anything... I will manually enter my carriers internet and mms settings..
I use a lot of WiFi as my providors internet service is slower than I would like
I use it as a GPS (with TomTom) almost daily...
I installed the HTC Home Plugin and love it with the weather updates.. would like to have that incorperated with whatever rom
The radio version on stock rom works great for me.. so something when paired to do simmilar settings on that ?
I use the S2P, S2V2, and S2V .... So I can install those or if any rom has them in it...
I have a good sized micro SD (8gb at the moment) so I tend to install jsut about everything onto the SD card.. maybe a rom where that is the defautl location or something ?
I use MS Voice Command daily...
I play games on it regularly.. love works, ka-blom, pac man, emulators, and others...
I use wireless BT2.0 stereo headphones for MP3's and such
I stream music and video from my home computer using orb
I have used IE Mobile, Skyfire, and other browsers.. I jsut want one that works well...
I love an iContact (or type) contact program
As you probalyl guessed, I like it to be as finger friendly in general as possible...
I have used a few programs so I can use the phone as a webcam when connected via USB to my computer, woudl be great if it has that built in as well
MMS/SMS managing software would be great.. I usually keep recent txt's for a while after receiving them... something that say only keep them til you have a certain amount or after a certian amount of time passes would be great....
Of course, I would also like the rom to be very stable as well if that isn;t too much to ask..
I am open to trying to some programs/features that I have not used before... and I don't expect any rom to do everything I have listed above... The main thing will be to get one that I can set up the internet easy enough without having to worry about hidden settigns for AT&T or other such carrier... If you have been using a rom that you really liked that you think would work for me, let me know... Thank you in advance for reading this and sending me you suggestions....

So let me get this right.... You have a standard Tilt, minus the bloatware which you're happy with (and have been) until TomTom stopped working with traffic updates. You're now considering changing the ROM to fix the problem Why not just hard reset after backing up your stuff and do the bloatware free reset trick again? Oh and mods don't like 'ROM Recommendation' type threads (read some of the sticky posts to see why) so if people post saying ROM x is better than y, this thread will probably be locked to stop any arguments breaking out. Also TomTom will be less likely to offer support with cooked ROMs - I was told they wouldn't even support a HTC Default WM 6.1 ROM, only the WM 6.0 ROM the device (and TomTom) came with (one of the reasons why I had my device reverted to WM 6.0). Good luck with your hard reset
+1 on the real issue being Tom Tom traffic, as you seem pretty happy with use and your exisiting configuration. I'd try to find a WiFi hotspot (where Tom Tom can also see satellites) and see if Traffic will update via WiFi. Could be Einstein is blocking Tom Tom traffic over GPRS.
still new to the kaiser/tilt/tytn II, etc(less than a week) so not in a position to really give any real advice, but what helped me in my decision is reading through PureSkillz reviews of the roms and seaching with google outside of xda to see what people are using and that helped me with my decision, T-mobile sux in about every way, so if it is good on T-mobile it'll probably be good on anything else. What I had a hard time on is choosing the right radio for my device but luckily the rom i chose allowed me to use whatever radio i wanted and I am happy with my setup and don't plan to change unless something radical happens in the scene. I am running Tomtom 7 on my rom and it works perfect, but i dont have internet via my provider cause they charge way too much so i use wifi. the one thing i don't like about this rom is lack of landscape support but hey, cant complain if i'm not smart enough to cook my own stuff.
see my choice in my sig below. Aloha
Thanks... It isnl;t an einstein blocking issue.. I already tried the WiFi... The problem started right after I installed igo GPS program to compair the 2... I have since uninstalled igo, but tomtom still wont; connect to traffic.. I talked ot them at tomtom.. they were very frienmdly with troubleshooting.. went htough a million steps.. even gave me an additional free year of traffic as well for the problem, even though it isn;t their fault...
Thank you... I read that... and thought I woudl advoid those "argument" because I wasn;t trying to ask "What is the best rom"... I was trying to ask what rom would work the easiest for me in my unique situation ? That is why I listed how I use to and what software I use... But thanks for the input... I considered just doing the hard reset.... I just thought if now I am wiping my phone and starting over, which rom would give me added advantages...
And on the TomTom not working with 6.1..... My son bought a phone like mine after he saw me using it so much.. when he got his (After me) we grabbed the newest offical rom form HTC's site (he actually uses AT&T prepay, so the AT&T software is ok for him).. It was WM 6.1 and his TomTom software works fine.... So don;t let that stop you from using 6.1
I have downloaded the Athine OS WM 6.5 Final as well as the Hyper Dragan III from Christmas day, 08 as many people reccomened... I have to decide between them now... You have any experiance with either?

I have the latest 6.5 Energy rom and every time i try to install TTN 7 the progress bar never moves...any body else experiencing this problem?
yeah, I had the same issue, but the funny thing is, I left the installation screen on for a while and then ended the process. Apparently TomTom was installed anyway and worked fine.
I don't know why it does that, but try it, maybe it will work for you too.
I install TT7 all the time and this has never occurred to me. I must have install the thing on over a dozen different ROMs (though admittedly, I'm not a big fan of EnergyRom).
However, after switching to WM6.5, I have noticed that installing TT7 doesn't give me a shortcut to the program. Instead, I would always have to create a shortcut myself.

I have no problems installing tomtom 7 on any EnergyROM even the latest 04072009. Maybe it is just an installer which build of TT7 u guys are using ? My is 7.910 (9185) and it is in cab.
I'm using a newer version of TomTom 7, 7.915(9196), I also installed it via .cab file.

I noticed a long time ago that TomTom doesn't need reinstallation between flashes, I think I installed it once, and moved the installation folder to the SD card and I just keep it there between flashes. Hope this helps.
