actually it kinda is. i agree it should all be free, but the dude did put some of his work and time into it, and $1.50 isnt a lot to ask for lol. plus! he even made free versions! come on lets not be too greeedy with wanting everything free, the guy deserves at least something.

Wow, didn't think of that. I 100% agree, since they're basically just selling HTC's images...Not saying that they don't deserve to be paid for putting it together, but still, that's all it is, HTC's images.

This guy would definitely would lose in a lawsuit.
He is MAKING MONEY by using HTC's copyrighted images. Plain and simple. Regardless of what he included or didn't include.

Most images in those widgets are almost identical copies. They aren't exactly the same. Some images are direct rips though, I'm fairly certain. I can't imagine these would hold up too well in court either.

if htc has a problem with it they will send C&D letters, just like what Palm did with the pre theme.

I will gladly pull the apps if HTC has a problem with it,I am not in any way trying to steal from them like some of you are portraying (thanks to those that understand its alot of hard work to make the people on the market happy)Yep the images are theirs though search google for clock parts and you will see how they put their clocks together.I am the one though that brought it to the market how long has it been around now? i actually do work with lawyers. though theyre empployment, bankruptcy and real estate lawyers, they also sometimes to that rights type crap. and i can tell you, htc would not give a crap if you do this. it wouldnt be worth sueing you because to them your worth crap, and they would lose more money in sueing you then just lettnig this be. i say to make everyone happy just lowetr the price to $1. the less money you make from there property the better.
now say if you were making like $500 a month from this, thenn your screwed lol.

Thanks for the support guys I really appreciate it,I would drop the price but then it gets me .69 cents each.I know 1.50 is a little more than most themes on the market but I have added tons of clocks and its not openhome,ahome whatever home specific and I feel as if its worth the $1.05 it gets me after googles cut.I dont think alot of people realize how much google takes for posting to their market,I am not complaining or anything just an fyi for those who didnt know.But aside from that this matter is in HTC's hands now I definitely wanna make a living and provide for my wife and kids the right way so I have contacted them to see if a partnership can be made.It does mean though if they say I gotta pull them I will, I am not trying to make any enemies in the Android world especially HTC.

Need feedback about my first theme

Hi Guys,
I've made my first theme and popped it on the android market, I made the decision to charge £0.99 for it as I believe it to be worth that and I know if I saw it then I would have no qualms with paying this at all, however since releasing it around 10 hours ago, ive only had 3 downloads all of which were cancelled so im trying to work out reasons why. One possible reason I can think is that they are using the Motorola Droid, where most these don't look particularly good because of the resolution, the second is that they just plain didn't like it! I do find this rather odd though as I have included 2 screenshots.
So if here's the androlib link (http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-nd-android-pandatheme-psimpleblack_5896-pExj.aspx) (screens dont do it much justice), I would appreciate any feedback. If anyone wants to download it for real then for today I will refund anyone from XDA developers who purchases it, just PM me your name after you have done so.

Looks pretty good to me, i take it the fuzziness is just in the screenshots? There's certainly A LOT worse on the market that have quite a few downloads, so I think you just have to give it time.

I would suggest making the notification bar black. The white bar does not look quite right. On the other hand, I only theme AOSP ROMS, so this may not be an option for you.
I want you to know that what follows is constructive criticism in the hopes that it will help you. If I offend I apologize, and give you full permission to tell me to piss off.
When I look at the theme, it looks nice, very clean, all the graphics work, but there is nothing that grabs my attention. It seems very "flat" and I personally would refund and get a theme that would draw me in to the screen. Having said that, I think it is really great work, that with a little bit of effort could really sell. I am sorry to say that I can not tell you what it needs, but I suggest making a few mock ups in gimp (or photoshop) and asking people what they think.
Additionally, the theme looks a lot like an iphone, which may be why I do not care for the look as much another may. The idiots on the market are always looking for iphone this and that, and thus I think it could really sell given time.

Thanks, comments noted, very helpful. The black notification bar isn't an option in this sort of theme but I'll definately be looking into ways of jazzing it up for a version 2.0 .

While I love themes like this, the only issue is that every other app installed will have a regular icon. Which unfortunatly takes away from your great work..

Yeah I recognise this, i was thinking of adding extra ones for the most popular apps (facebook, twidroid etc). Maybe this is something I'll look further in to.

That is exactly what I did. There is no way to legally theme and distribute most market apps, so just make an addition icon pack and let people apply via bettercut.

By the way, I showed this to my wife, whom is a professional graphic designer, and asked her opinion. She suggested it is way too flat, and needs more contrast. I realize that you do not want to add color to accomplish this, as it defies the point of your theme, so she suggested to do away with the symmetry. Stagger some icons, give the homescreen a look that carries the eye of the viewer around it.

Need artist to form my ideas of an icon set!

I've been searching for a specific sort of icon set for android apps, but haven't been able to find it. My idea is to have an icon set of stickies / post it´s in different colors, angles, sizes, roation and with either text, drawings or text and drawings for the icon itself.
To give you a better picture of what I'm imagining I've found some pictures to illustrate fractions of the idea - "combined" they kinda look like what I imagine
Hope you can help me or guide me in the direction of something alike !

Seems simple enough to make, I've actually worked on something like this before but never finished it because I didn't really imagine myself using it. I probably still have my resources gathered, and could materialize it for you - but be warned that I'm not a professional and the amount of time I have to work on it is limited. If you want to work something out, send me a pm. There are better designers out there, so if you find someone else to do it I won't be offended.
I'm not saying I suck, I'm just letting you know I'm not the best. Your idea is fairly easy to implement, so it shouldn't take a professional. Anywho, just let me know.

Be my guest ! I have an idea of them in a homescreen setup, where the wallpaper is a vintage white polished fridge (like 50's kind of style) up close and then with all the post its apps *Haven't been able to find such wallpaper either tho :-(

and its coming, with the ability to choose the color and position of every icon. For example, lets say you want the facebook icon, you'll be able to have five choice for it... This is going to be a lot of icons... trust me.

I've actually been thinking about buying a couple of your newer sets. They look really nice. I set a monthly limit on how much I can spend on my phone - apps, dev donations, etc. If I don't, I'd be broke, lol. It resets on the 20th, so I'll probably buy a couple next week

[APP] Eurovision Song Contest

Hi everyone
After the semifinals yesterday I thought I'd download an app for keeping track on the artists in ESC. What do you know... Couldn't find one...
So I put a simple one together so I'd have one for the finals.
The newspapers always have a page where you can grade the contestants, but I thought it'd be nicer with an app for us techies.
The app shows the contestants in order and allows you to see the lyrics for the songs. It also allows you to rate the contestants with a 5-star system and write notes about them. On one page you can see them contestants listed in the order you voted.
Since this was made in the matter of hours I didn't really put the energy to support light theme... so if you want to use it during the finals, switch to dark theme.
This app won't go to the marketplace, but if there are any dev geeks here who'd like to install the XAP and run it, it is attached for your pleasure.
It might seem stuck at start but give at a few secs and it should run fine... Heeey what do you expect from a few hours work.
Anyway... if you like it... compensate me by sending a phone vote for the Finnish contestant. I'm not from Finland, but Paradise Oskar kicks butt.

Haha. I was considering building one for the finals, but I couldn't find an easy way to get all the data without hard coding it all in - seemed like more trouble than it was worth!

In regards, to the lyrics I made a quick and ugly hack to get it in quickly.
I pasted the lyrics into a function in VS and made a regex-replace and surrounded each row by a stringbuilder appendline
