I just bought an HTC Tilt on eBay. I am pretty sure that the previous owner flashed the original ROM, the info I can find is listed below. I don't use much data, I am interested in running android on the phone. If I read other posts correctly, I have to run android on top of windows. I would prefer to hard flash the ROM if possible but if not, no problem. I have HardSPL and CidUnlocker from the "Flashing Your First Kaiser Rom" post by mskip.
I am looking essentially for a decent android OS I can play around with.
If I can hard flash the ROM I take it I will need to flash a new radio also is that right? Do I need a new radio if I just soft flash?
Any help you can provide will be appreciated

Just head over to the Android subforum, just be prepared for a leess than stellar Android performance, especially if you are going to compare it to modern handsets with a lot more muscle.

All I want to do is get my QTEK 9100 to work with my new Parrott MK6000 hands free kit so that I can stream music through my car speakers. Parrot have told me on their forum:
http://www.parrot.biz/forums/english/viewtopic.php?id=3759
to update to the latest ROM for my device. Is there an issue with audio streaming with the QTEK 9100? I think I read on one of these threads that there was, hence the reason I am trying so hard to update.
The device info for my QTEK is as follows:
ROM Version: 2.17.7.2
Rom date: 2/10/06
Radio Version: 02.07.10
Protocol Version: 413.1.03
ExtROM Version: 2.17.7.102
I have been reading this forum for ages now. I have unlocked my CID (even though the device is G4 and I now understand that that was not necessary) and I have tried to update to the ROM on this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1172977&postcount=361
but have recieved an error 300 message.
Is that because that ROM is not compatiable with my PDA?
If that is the case, is it only the ROM's on this page
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wizard_Upgrades
that are compatiable with the respective phones and if that is the case then I must have the latest ROM and can not upgrade any further?
I would like to have the very latest ROM (just to be flash) and have therefore set my computer to retrieve the seed for Faria's latest ROM version on this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=291806&page=85
is that going to work or am i wasting my time?
Any help would be really appreciated and I am sorry if I have missed something whilst scanning this forum.
there are a bunch of roms out there , seems like everyone has there own cooked version.
It is possible that your pda/phone doesnt like that rom version.
Try finding another rom image?
jeff
Can anyone recommend one that might possibly work? Its just that its difficult to tell from all the different ones out there. Also does the Rom Image have to be specific for my phone or will any do?

Hello all,
Finally I put my hands on a HTC Kaiser from Orange UK. I unlocked it with help from deblocage-htc.com.
Now I would like to update the ROM version that I have now.
Details of the device and actual ROM are:
Device Information:
-------------------
Operator Version - 24.181.1.612
ROM - 1.81.61.2 WWE
ROM Date - 09/20/07
Radio - 1.27.14.32
Protocol Version: 22.45.88.07H
--------------------
Bootloader Information:
------------------------
KAIS130
SPL - 1.81.0000
CPLD-8
-------------------------
Windows Information:
---------------------
Windows Mobile 6 Profesional
CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)
-----------------------
Now I have two questions
1. does the ROM update affects the simlock?
2. Which is the newest ROM version compatible for my device, and if its posible the cleanest ROM, with minimal bloat software and other stuff (I will install my applications separatelly).
Hi mate.
Read the ROM Upgrading wiki (Sticky) regarding how to flash roms. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=397434
It contains all the information possible that you need to read.
And then once your confident about flashing head over to the Kaiser ROM Development Forum for the latest roms that the Chefs are cooking at the moment.
There are a few ROMs which are cooked to be clean and minimal there but you'll have to read the information on them to decide which you want to try for yourself.
I had an Orange Branded phone but I now run Dutty April 29th RoM which I think is the most stable and feature packed for my needs.
bro u have got to do ur part and we will help. i would eecommend readin the sticky on top of this forum and after reading it please post and we will answer ur questions.
Hi guys,
Finally I update with rom Ruu_Signed_Duttys_WM6.1_5.2.19700_Hybrid V2_1_65.14.06[No_CubeV2] as soupz mentioned in his reply.
I installed HardSPL v3.56 by JockyW (although I had the issue with the white screen, but I solved it).
This forum is awsome.
Thank you guys for all of your work.
hi
i recently flashed my orange uk branded phone with the new official hd update rom that i downloaded thanks you people on this forum but before i flashed it i wanted a backup of my orange rom incase i needed to put it back to the way it was for return purposes
after much serching this forum i could not find my rom, so i looked into making a dump of my rom
i have now done that and i have 4 .raw files and i have no idea what to do with them
is there someone here that could rebuild the files so they can be flashed back to a phone
it could then be added to the roms that are allready available for download
the rom spec is as follows:
Operator version: 34.119.1.611
ROM version: 1.19.61.1 WWE
ROM date 11/25/08
Radio version: 1.09.25.14
Protocol version: 52.49a.25.26u
windows mobile 6.1 professional
CE OS 5.2.20764 (build 20764.1.4.3)
like i say this is a uk orange branded rom
i can put it somewhere for download if anyone wants to have a go
can anyone help
math
Hi All, I have had a search and can't find the answer to my question. I am about to flash my HTC Touch HD to Dutty's new 6.5 R8 ROM and I wanted to make sure I can go back to my default incase I either don't like it (which I doubt after reading everyones posts) or the phone has to go back for warrenty.
I have found some original ROM's on Dutty's site but the version numbers don't look like they match. mine are as follows
I am on Orange and in the UK
Operator Version: 34.119.1.611
ROM Version: 1.19.61.1 WWE
ROM Date: 11/25/08
Radio Version: 1.09.25.14
Protocol Version: 52.49a.25.26U
The closest one I found on Dutty's site is BlackStone_HKCSL_WWE_1.19.831.0_Radio_52.49a.25.26_1.09.25.14 or RUU_BlackStone_Orange_UK_1.14.405.3_Radio_52.49a.25.26_1.09.25.14
If I restored either of these would I still be ok on the warrenty front? or is there away that I can extract my currently installed ROM and then restore it if needed?
Any help would be greatly recieved.

Brilliant Thanks. There is a closer match there but still nothing with a complete match. If I send it back can they tell from the serial number what versions should be on there? or is there a particular version that is more important than the others? i.e. the ROM version?
there is a release of a newer rom than yours on the htc site
so i guess that if you had that rom installed and your hd needed to go back under warranty then you should be fine as it can be considered an official update by the manufacturer
http://www.htc.com/www/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=179&cat=2&dl_id=533
Thanks, I didn't realise that HTC released ROM's for download. Thanks for both of the replies. Much appreciated.
As long as you have an official HTC upgrade rom on your device you will be fine for warranty

October 6th is when the update to 6.5 will be there for HTC Diamond, or near enough.
So my advice is to wait for the official release.
1. Install the SPL from my sig.
2. Install a 6.5 ROM from the ROM thread.
