XDA IIi clock - get rid of O2 - PDA2, XDA IIi, 2020i General

I noticed that the O2 clock on the main screen can take up to a minute to update itself when switching on the PDA but the Windows default at the top of the screen is instantaneous and also far more convenient when using other programs like Word etc.
How can I easily get rid of O2's nonsense?
Thanks

O2 got clever!

I have just recieved my third XDA IIi with the latest rom on. Going into windows\startup to remove the O2 active ui shortcut I see its gone! I have used the slider to move it but cannot remove it!! All thats listed is the following:
Camera_Detect
CheckAutoRun
Connections
elatepushservice
IA_CID_Startup
poutlook
RunBT
STK
Any clues? - I have no strong objections to the o2 ui but like to remove that icon as it clogs up the start bar...
Andy
I blive it to be the connections option to remove the o2 icon.
o2 got clever
try this setup xda 2i using corporate settings o2ui will not be installed then go to this thread http://innocentstuff.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=26463 to obtain o2 uk settings cab
It it most certainly the shortcut labelled "connections" that starts the annoying o2 icon in the toolbar.
New to all this. Just bought a XDA IIi I want to remove the O2 Active UI.
I keep seeing references to "windows/startup" but I cant find "windows/startup".
Can anyone tell me how I find windows/startup?
Is it possible to get rid of O2 Active but still keep the little battery meters?
Just found out where it is I think. I was looking for something on the screen, but realised it was a folder.
I found it using active sync and "exploring"
Do I have to remove it from activesync or from filemanager in the PDA?

HTC Home Weather + Vista Sync

Hi All
Just starting out with my Kaiser and have a complaint which is not directly related to the Kaiser. Why can I not synchronise my Kaiser with the new applications "Windows Calendar", "Windows Contacts" in Windows Vista using the Windows Mobile Device Center? Very annoying. Have had a quick look around and it really seems as though it's not possible. Apparently, I need to be buy Outlook. Very, very annoying. Has anybody heard whether Microsoft are going to fix this or if someone's working on a 3rd party app to do this?
2nd major gripe is the Weather section of HTC Home. Used to use SPB Weather on my old Wizard but really like the HTC Home Weather; big weather icons etc. Bit annoyed that it can only hold weather for one city at a time but my biggest issue is that is only seems capable of using the American site Accuweather. I'm in the UK and the ability to use, say the BBC's weather would be much better. AccuWeather doesn't seem to be very accurate for UK weather. Does anyone know of a way around this?
Thanks and regards,
J

I with "J" on this one I would like to be able to display UK weather
Outlook (v2003 I believe) should be on the CD that came with your phone.

Alternative OS Frontends

Can anyone point me to other frontents for Windows Mobile like for example
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/mobileshel
PointUI Home was another one that I tried on my previous WinMob phone, it's very responsive and smooth but it's not the most attractive front end in the world. Also, not being able to see the clock and upcoming appointments at the same time got right on my tits. To be honest I've yet to come across a front end with a Today style screen that shows everything the default WinMob one does (i.e. date/time, tasks, appointments and count of unread emails/messages) which annoys the hell out of me, I don't understand how these various companies have spent time writing front ends intended to replace WinMob yet can't give us a Today screen that even has the functionality of the default one. Is it really that hard to do?
thanks, i tried and installes 1.51a of it, but nothing happens, still standard winmob frontend... how must i intall it properly?

If it's installed properly you should now have an entry for it in your Programs list, you can just launch it from there like any other application and I think it then remains resident.
On a related note I found this Wizbar app that seems to allow the customisation of WinMob though I haven't tried this one out. There are some themes for it here.
I'm very happy with SPB software though obviously it's quite expensive to buy. I think it has a free trial.
SPB pocket plus is a genius bit of software because it allows you to quickly select from up to 7 today screens each containing various today plugins and shortcuts. You get up to 6 tabs plus your regular today screen (when the tabs are set to auto-hide).
Other today plugins I'm using are Pocket Player, DevState 1.5 (as a task manager) and SPB Time, Diary, Weather and Mobile Suite (another great program). (Not cheap )
Here are some screens - the photo is a holiday shot from Turkey:
there is also vito winterface which is iphone clone...quite nice but nothing new. i still with manila

AT&T Tilt - opens new txt/e-mail 3/4 down screen

This is starting to get a little annoying for me, so I thought that I'd see if anyone had the solution here.
Whenever I open a new e-mail message it opens it about 3/4 of the way down, so when there's a massive thread being sent to my e-mail, I have to scroll up to finally see what the reply is instead of it starting at the top (like it use to with the first stock ROM I had when it was shipped... about 1 year ago).
I've since upgraded to the latest ROM available from HTC directly (because this is a company phone, I haven't customed it yet), and this is when the problem started. I've tried going back to my original rom, but it displayed the problem with both txt and e-mail - I'm wondering if it didn't have something to do with an AT&T customization that I interrupted, or some kind of background installed patch that I'm unaware of.
In any case, its extremely annoying with e-mail. As of late, it doesn't show up on txts because of the new way txts are displayed thanks to the ROM update (which I love the chat style of txting, its a great improvement). Any help would be great; every time I've turned to XDA its turned out well, hoping so this time.

Oh thank you so very much! Thank you, that was certainly the cause!

Flip clock flips unnecessarily

After I've upgraded my TD2 to Win 6.5 mobile with the official rom, I realised that everytime I wake up my phone from stand by or go back from dialer and some menu windows; the flip clock flips from 1 hour 1 minute past to the original time. e.g. if the time is 19:25; when I wake up from stand by I see 18:24 and then clock flips to 19:25 immediately.
Not a big issue but could not get used to.
Any solution to this would be great?
Thanks,
I agree with you. It's annoying. I often just turn on the phone to check the time and it's not automatic. I have to wait until it quits flipping.
Yeah i agree, its bloody annoying. Anyone know a way to stop it?
There's a tool for the touch HD, called manilla tweaker or something like that, that does that, but I can no longer find it. I agree completely: it's very annoying
Hi,
I have the same problem. If someone knows the tool to adjust this I would be very happy.
thank you
regards
Andre
I'm in the same boat.
Just plain OEM WinMob 6.5 from HTC. Nothing added at all.
I get that annoying clock flip. Its annoying. I thought it was the DAYLIGHT saving being applied and also simply the minutes being refreshed. Perhaps I just thought this to save myself from going mad..... but it's annoying :'(
Upgrade your rom to duttys, I did this tonight. Much improved.
hmm i was thinking of flashing dutty's rom...but reading the many postings of bugs scared me away.
TESS 3.7 or later also fixed this
I suffered the same problem with the official ROM, and many more besides.
I have gone back to using the Topaz Essentials (TESS) version 3.7. It's very close to stock but with none of the issues. It's very fast and very good with the memory mangement so i would reccommend it anytime.
By the way, in a working ROM what is supposed to happen is the active weather screen gets re-activated, the official ROM has a bug that instead flips the clock.
I'm hoping that Microsoft & HTC keep on the ball with all of these and release a series of fixes ASAP.
Cheers, Rob.
So any update on this? So friggen annoying
Use This tool it will stop the unnecessarily flipping
If you google "flip clock fix" within the forum you will get at least a couple of interesting threads talking about this totally useless "feature". Anyway note that many cooks have fixed this in their respective ROMs, included the one in my signature (available also in english)
@ munrobasher: I'm afraid that nor MS nor HTC won't move a finger about it, thinking it's a cool effect
I've used this program for both Touch Pro 2 and Diamond 2 running original HTC Win 6.5 rom and it works great...
Just install Cookies home tab 2.It helps very good with that problem
