I hate to see all the images that I have as Album Art for my music showing up in my Gallery.. is there anyway to hide only Album Art images?
I try .noMedia file but that hide my Music too..
any suggestions would be appreciated..
Thanks
I'd like to know this too...
Try embedding the album art inside the audio files.
http://lifehacker.com/397258/find-and-embed-album-art-in-your-mp3-collection
thats how I have my album art but it still shows up.. when you upload song to G1 SdCard, it extract the album and create different images..
How about "rm -f *.jpg *.png *.gif" within the directory containing audio?
having the same problem, any solutions yet?
Create a seperate folder and move all our album art into it then .nomedia it, simple.
Hi
the solution is to rename the file to albumart.jpg
the music player will see the album art and the gallery will ignore it
Or you could just embed, which would avoid the hassle of keeping external album art images
Bringing back an old dead topic to live!!!
I've changes all my albumb arts to .albumart.jpg . so the gallaery did not show them back in Gingerbread.
but after upgrading to ICS all these hidden files are viewable again in the library. even .nomedia does not work.
p.s. I've used Windows mediaplayer to collect album arts and they are all small ,hidden, machine named JPGs.
Same problem with Motorola Atrix 2 ICS release. Gallery wants to load all album art. Needs to be fixed.

Does anyone know? I did a Windows Media Player sync like the getting started guide says. My playlists and music is recognized in the TouchFLO music player, but the album art does not show. The Album Art DOES show if I open the same playlists/music in Windows Media Player.
It looks like there is an "hTC_AM_AlbumArt.jpg" image in the Internal Storage/Content/Music folder for each album that the device came with. Is that what the TouchFLO 3D media player uses to display album art? Why can't it use Folder.jpg like Windows Media Player does?
Has anyone figured out how to get this to work without renaming a copy of folder.jpg for each album on the device?
EDIT: The following instructions is what I had to do on the 1.34 ROM in order to get album art to appear in TouchFLO 3D:

You can embed the album art in the tag with a tool like mediamonkey. I keep all my mp3's tidy with all info and art, the player on the diamond will go through the tags and display the art for you. I also saw the .jpg in a folder of provided content, so potentially that is another way But I have not tried it due to what I already explained.
I tired put my album image and rename to folder.jpg(200 x 200px) and hTC_AM_AlbumArt.jpg(256 x 256px) into Internal Storage/Content/Music/Artist/Album and the TouchFLO 3D would load the images.

your sure? i have MP3s with embedded Album Art in the tag (i use MP3tag) but they would not show. Only if i use WMP11 to sync i have art
I have MP3s with Album art embedded too, and they didn't transfer over, probably because I sync playlists using Windows Media Player.
I tried adding hTC_AM_AlbumArt.jpg images to some folders in my synced music Library on Internal Storage/Music/, but that didn't work for showing album art either.
I don't do the drag/drop File Manager way of adding MP3s because that's way too much of a hassle to manage. Auto-syncing selective playlists in Windows Media Player is a much easier method of managing what music is on my device.
I guess I'll try running Tag & Rename (http://www.softpointer.com/tr.htm) on the internal storage tonight, but that's going to suck if I have to do it every time I change my syncing playlists.
dont worry bro.. dont worry.. i did it without any extra programs
like this: internal storage/my documents/my music(u might need to create one) /madonna(eg. album) /madonna's mp3(all of madonna's mp3) AND folder.jpg(IMPORTANT! this folder.jpg IS madonna's pic or album art. u have to rename it to folder.jpg)
after u done that, htc will auto attach a .jpg file into your album, should be htc_am_album.jpg or somehting like that. and u got your album in your htc player. if it still doesnt load...
go to the player manually, tap library on the left lower corner. scroll to album and it might automatically detect it by then.

That didn't work for me. It should have detected them originally, since Windows Media Player syncing does create folder.jpg images like that. I have TouchFLO 3D 1.1.34072.1 1630.15. Is your's a different version??
This is what I had to do to get it to work:
http://discuss.pocketnow.com/showthread.php?p=74481#post74481
The renaming to folder.jpg worked for me, too.
It appears it won't happen instantly, but after some time the picture is used.
In fact, the HTC album creates a new copy of the folder.jpg with an adapted resolution which it names htc_am_albumart.jpg.
So simply put your folder.jpg in your album folder and have some patience, it will happen. I've not yet figured out what triggers this.
syncing Album Art in USB mode
Hi All,
After a few days of frustation with my Diamond mediaplayer I found that syncing the following way is most satisfactory to get album art across from my PC:
1. set WMP 11 to sync without conversion, that is MP3 format (so no gain in WMA compression)
2. set your Diamond to USB
3. sync your songs from WMP
This seems to work fine for at least 9 out of 10 songs !
Have fun

Touch Flow does not find music
Hi,
I have synced all the musics via Media Player.
But Diamond does not find them in touch flow.
It allways says "No music Found"
I noticed that it puts the music in a folder called "Music" on the root of the Internal Storage instead of the \Content\Music
Anyone had this problem or has any ideias?
Regards,
Jose
Have you tried opening windows media player and updating the library ?
When I do that the tf3d page updates its library too
How to Sync TouchFLO 3D Album Art
HI
I have the same issue, I just let WMA to sync all my album to the HTC. All my albums are put in the /internal storage/music folder. Using the TF3D and the music option I can chose the library and launch one album but I can not have all my album diplayed in this screen.. I always must go through the library to chose my album.. But with this synchronuisation the image associete with the labum is fine dusplayed
I had also updated the lbrary using WMA on the HTC
thanks for your experience
when you view in TF3D all image album, you must create playlist with all song and then you look all album in TF3D, bud when you skip to other album must skip all song from previous album.
Better soft to play music is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=377627

I was thinking the same thing. Couple days ago i decided to try out the music player and i really can't understand (being a software developer myself) how the hell they let this pass.
Btw, i only managed to get the album art show, by renaming the WM art file to folder.jpg, deleting the HTC/AudioManager_Eng/AudioManager_Eng file, and reset the device. It created the HTC_AM.... .jpg on the folders.
cheers

where is the file you are deleting? I have still not got this to show art.
Works well
Rename all your albumart to folder.jpg using flashrenamer
JUst change the registry key HKLM/software/htc/audiomanager */audiomanager from 1.5 to 0.
Soft reset your diamond
Then the diamond makes files called HTC albumart and you can then see all your album art in the Touchflo 3d screen.
Why doesnt my diamond music player recognize some album arts?
I have al my music library in itunes and all of them have the album art, but when i copy the songs i want to my internal storage, the player only recognizes some album arts.
At first i thought it was album art file size issue.. I tried resizing some of them to try but it isnt a flie size issue
Any idea?
Thanks
bump ! bump !
If the albums are separated by folders (such as \Artist\Album\Songs.mp3), just place the album art in the same folder and name it "folder.jpg".
Hi ,
i Deleted the sample albums that came with the Diamond and i dont know how , and to where i should place my albums (and how i load to them cover)
thanks for your's help.
Hey
Well, I've discovered a very easy method. I use Media Monkey 3.0 to download the coverart of an album. You simply load in the mp3's, select one and rightclick on it and select search tag on web and voila, the programm automatically attaches the albumart to the mp3 so it will show up in the TF3D music player. Very very easy.
Regards
TheWizzard
I too have the same problem. I tried to use Media Monkey but for some reason the album art doesn't attach itself to the tracks.
I successfully transferred the tracks to my phone but when i go into the tf3d music screen the album aart isn't there. Tried various methods but to no avail.
What am i doing wrong???????????
The easiest way is to just put a folder.jpg image in the folder with the album.
I tried that too. I renamed the album art which i placed in the same folder as the album tracks but even that didn't show the cover on tf3d. I can view the album art when i go into the track listing, but it doesn't show up when i'm playing the tracks.
Thanks for your reply btw
i'd recommend attaching a folder.jpg instead of putting the artwork within the tags, as apparently the new versions of TF3D do not like embedded artwork and will cause the music player to crash
So do i just place the artwork in the same folder as the tracks and then rename it to folder.jpg? I have tried this way but i just can't seem to get it to show on the tf3d screen....
no, that method does not work.
use windows media player, it's easy.
When you embed a jpg or png file as artwork in the MP3-tag the HTC player will extract it and create a hidden file in the same folder. The name is ~hTC_Album Name.jpg
The easiest way to have your cover shown in the TF3D player is to create such a file yourself (it doesn't have to be hidden). I have my favorite 120 tracks in the same folder and every single one is shown with the right cover.
But: the album name in the tag has to match the file name exactly and it has to be a valid file name according to the windows rules, i.e. the following characters are forbidden: \/:*?"<>|
Hi Obsidian,
I have tried that, but it doesn't seem to work for me
Can I just check how you do it?
Lets say you have two mp3s, one with an album tag of XXX and one with album tag of YYY.
You then have 2 jpgs with the album art in your Music folder, one called ~hTC_XXX.jpg, and one called ~hTC_YYY.jpg?
That is how I am doing it, yet they are not appearing in the Library or TF3D. If I have the mp3s in seperate folders, then I can make an folder.jpg for each one, which it then translates into hTC_AM_AlbumArt.jpg, that works fine, but I would love to be able to use your method.

That's right. I checked again and discovered that the jpg file generated by TF3D has a size of 256x256 the same as hTC_AM_AlbumArt.jpg also generated by TF3D. The ~hTC... files are hidden but that shouldn't be a problem. You could try taking one mp3 of album XXX and one of album YYY in the same folder and copying the corresponding hTC_AM_AlbumArt.jpg renaming it to ~hTC_XXX.jpg.
Besides that I have no idea.
Edit: Try this attached set of mp3 with artwork. The "song" is by me so no copyright issues here.
Heres what I did.. downloaded the picture of the album (google)...
make sure the file extension is jpg and not png .. rename the file to Folder.jpg and place it in the album folder.. connect your phone using it as a disc drive delete all existing pictures in the music folder .. copy paste.. then disconnect ur phone wait 10 seconds and voila!
ps Ive tried all other methods mediamonkey etc
This one worked best for me

Thanks shaka-ban. Just followed the instructions from your post. All my albums now have the album art displayed. Was doing my head in.
Just one thing, which i hope you may be able to answer, how do i get all the albums covers to display on the screen so i get 3d flipping?
Hope you can help, or if anyone else knows that would be so so good.
Thanks in advance
just import album files with mp3tag program into mp3 files and they will appear in your touchflo3d after you you copy them to your device.
Thanks for your reply. I've got the album art on the screen when i select an album to play, and the album art stays there for all the tracks, but i've only got the album art for the album thats currently playing. I wanted to be able to see all the covers in my collection and be able to choose an album to play from there, by flipping through them.

Thanks, Obsidian. Actually, I was doing it right all along, but what I was missing was that I didnt soft reset in between adding the new jpg files. Once I did that (or otherwise restarted Touchflow 3d), then as I hit the Music tab, I could see a little "working" cursor rotating in the top left as it updated the database internally. After that, it displayed the new albums fine.
So now I have the choice of directories with a "folder.jpg", or an range of album specific jpgs in a single directory.
Thanks for the help, my music tab looks superb now.

You can hit the Library button, then scroll to the album tab and flip through them that way, but it is a little slow to update, and doesnt use the same 3d flow look as the main music display, more of a 2d list.
Good music management.....
Starts with good managing of your albums and music on your PC...
I use iTunes (Mediamonkey just as good);
Each .mp3 has an Info tag that you can assign a picture to, typically I keep 1 Album to a folder, then change all the music files within to the same folder to the same Album name and then assign my own Album cover (search on web...Amazon is good for a 200x200 size jpg).....in Itunes right click for info, and change as you like....drag and drop you Album cover and you music will be set forever.
Album covers, genres, titles, artists, whatever can be assigned and the data will carry to all the Music players (itunes, media monkey, coreplayer, etc)
Bit of effort at first, but once done your music is set the way you want it forever!!
can someone tell me how to delete the temporary files of the htc player?
i deletet the default mp3s and now im stuck. the player wont show my musik and wont delete the sample musik out of the playlist.
Hi all,
I was going through my gallery this evening, and im finding it really annoying that ALL my album art is in there
Anybody any ideas if its possible to hide/remove images from the gallery? Or will I simply have to remove my album art(not that I really care about it!)?
create an empty file call .nomedia in ur album art folder and run the media scanner/dis-mount-remount ur sd/restart the phone. All folder with the .nomedia file will be ignored (image, music & video).
I am having the issue with album art showing up in the gallery but am hesitant to use .nomedia.
Will my music still be found if the album art is in the same folder as the music?
Will the album art be found for the music apps if there is .nomedia in the folder?
It seems we should be able to just specify where the gallery should look for pictures instead of scanning the entire SD.
The music app still functions fine. I have all of my album art embedded in my mp3s but when I had them as separate files they still showed up in the music app even though I had the .nomedia file.
You can easily delete that file and reboot if you want to go back.
I sync my music using Windows Media Player. Almost all of my songs have album art that displays fine in WMP. For some reason, only about 30% of the songs I sync to my Cappy have their album art displayed in the List or Now Playing views. In WMP it's easy to see why a song doesn't display album art because those files are visible within the folders (they have cryptic names and sizes, but all have a Folder.jpg file of the art), but Android only shows the music file. Looking at the folders for the songs that display correctly compared to ones that don't I see no difference. I used to have an app on WinMo that fixed issues with album art, but no such app exists on Android. Any ideas what is causing this? I want all my songs to display album art instead of that goofy blurred color thing.

There are a few apps that will download the album art, but what I think it is that the ones that work might have the info embeded in the id3 tags. Just a thought.

Yeah, I thought that, but I do that for all my mp3s. There's no rhyme or reason why some work and some don't. I'll give the Market a look.
It is possibly the format of the tags. I use Mp3tag on Windows to tag my files. I write ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags to the files. It's a free program, the dev accepts donations.
I really like mp3tagger pro (about $1.30) from the market for tagging files on the phone. Dev Site It found album art for some of my files that programs on my PC did not locate (Media Monkey, Album Art Downloader and Mp3tag).
I like this free app to fix album art on my phone.
Album Art Grabber
http://timothyjc.blogspot.com/2010/08/album-art-grabber.html
if you want to fix the situation in your pc's music library... try embedding the art in the tag...
though I don't think that is necessary. as none of mine is embedded. I have a 'cover.jpg' file in every folder though... and those images then show up in my gallery until I delete them. (after the cover thumbnails have been made
Thanks, guys. I ended up going with ID3Tagger because it was the only one that does WMA and other formats besides MP3. I often use WMA because the quality is the same as a 128k file, but the file sizes are smaller. Tried the free version and liked it enough to buy the paid one. It isn't fast when you have as many songs as I have, but it works and well.
