Thanks for the response, the speed-thing is something I'm working on now. I'll release a new version (with this build) as soon as possible.
I'm also working with a new build, 6.5.x, which should be online in a few days.
New version, first and second post updated.
Planning on keeping two versions: 6.5.0 and 6.5.5.

Flashed this ROM today. Good ROM, but still some issues need to be fixed :
don't know it's because of the 4 column program tab on the homescreen, but I cannot slide to other tabs (contacts, messaging,...) - only sliding over the menubar works

I can't review the ROM in depth because I'm about to flash your 6.5.5. ROM.
Just flashed your 6.5.5. ROM. My remarks :
I never installed the 4 column tab on the homescreen, but I find this pretty annoying, since I can't slide to left or right when on the homescreen
Settings in start menu take me to the settings tab. Again, pretty annoying for me, because I can't even disable Sense that way. I would prefer a folder in the start menu, so I can assign hardware buttons, enter my name and address, change the theme, etc.
hardware button 'home" doesn't work - maybe it has something to do with the 4 column program menu?
the help icon in the start menu is the default one when no icon is found
All in all a decent ROM, but the above mentioned issues makes my blackstone less user-friendly (in my opinion), so for now I'm returning to Mike's ROM.
If you don't install those extra tweaks I believe you'll have an excellent ROM!

How could you We allready got mikenificent if we want the buttons to be shown at the bottom.. i just want the standard lay out.. cant you like make a cab.file if you want the original lay out?

change from 100000 to 15000
but be careful, changes in registry could wreck your phone!

Welcome to my ROM thread!
This ROM is the first one in my series of ROMs for the Touch HD, and it's designed to have the latest and greatest applications and improvements. I also make ROMs for the Touch Pro device and that can be found in this thread.
Because of this it may not always be as stable or bugfree, as a stock ROM. However, I can assure you, it's much... MUCH faster than any stock ROM on your device.
The ROM is being continuously developed and bug fixed and there's almost daily releases. I've decided to name each release by the date when it was released. For example, 33109 would have been released on March 31, 2000.
The ROM is currently based on the 21042 OS core, with all the new goodies from the newly announced Rhodium device (the Touch Pro 2).
The ROM should already be %99 bug free.
You will find bugs with Manila, not setting the time correctly on the HomeScreen or little things like that, but these are all known bugs with Manila.
- This ROM is a Ferrari, therefore it drinks a lot of gas and burns a lot of rubber (RAM)... so be prepared to charge your phone more often!

Q: Why does my phone rotate from portrait to landscape like crazy ??
A: Calibrate your G Sensor from the Settings control panel. If that doesn't do much, disable the Screen Gyrator from the same control panel.
Q: Does this ROM have video call ?
A: Yes !
Q: If I use this in the US, will the time jump back and forth one hour if I access the clock settings from the home screen ?
A: Yes. This is a bug in the Manila interface, that will hopefully sort itself out when the old DST time will kick in.
Q: Why is the phone a little slow when you first boot it up ?
A: ConnectionSetup tries to detect your SIM card for the first 30 seconds after boot up. During that time, the phone might be a little sluggish.
Q: How's the battery life with this ROM ?
A: It's good for me, but you still have to charge your phone everyday.
Q: Does this ROM have the new Rhodium Start Menu ?
A: NO! It has the default windows start menu

What is the build 33109 ?
You said you'll be naming them as the date of release. Now I noticed that you used 09 for the year rather than just 9, but then you used 3 for the month rather than 03. That might get confusing depending on how you handle the single digit days number.
Also, keep in mind that different parts of the world would read dates as day, month, year instead of month, day, year. That'll cause confusion, making some people think an older version is actually a newer version or vice versa.
My suggestion would be to use a 3 letter abbreviation for the month. So MAR3109 or APR0109, etc.

hey nrg! welcome and great you are starting to cook hd roms! used your tp roms and know what you can do, just one question! i have been burning my mind out trying to get more programs with the new rhodium startmeny and frustrated to max, how do you do that! in your program tab i see more programs, four rows?
i am not an expert but have been trying with different changes to the manila registry with half success....
right now i am used to using the new startmeny and the only setback with it is its limitation on how many programs you can have there, i will test out your rom.

udK i just flashed your rom, I love it. I find it stable, and battery consumption is nice. I was torn between itje's new 6.5 and your rom, so I decided to give a reputable new cook of the X1 a try. And I like it! No bugs found yet, just one question, is there a way to add a PROGRAM tab in TF3D?

never tried udk before but this rom is very nice its like a mix between itje and jack put together hehe ...very nice!!
-first loading time was a bit more i think but after that everything seems nice, programs menu from tf2 is missing but i can live without it seeing as every icon on the programs folder has the new theme to it. also i would say you should take out the "G-Sensor" menu from settings (afaik xperia has no sensors?)
-new communications manager is nice i like it
-the font size is perfect
-speed is nice
-also everything is finger friendly 100%
-the link with facebook works but it doesnt seem to have the menu for it to work in the favourites?? ...i dunno maybe its me but i cant get it to work?

I have to say this is a beta?! really? doesn't seem like it, its fine! i love it. 1 thing i like about it is that its 1 of the only roms that is using the normal htc black theme in tf3d2. All the other roms are using the new tmobile theme which i hate personally. Dont use the tmobile the udk!

That is right it comes with manila 2.5. It indeed has 16 places for programs and widgets.

Yes I used the ROM 2 days now and for my use it is good. Feels snappy and responsive. I am cooking/flashing for the last time now and if everything is too my liking I will upload and post the link to the file.

It is weird that in the Start menu we have Settings 2 times: once with a nice icon and once with a system ike icon.
I think it would be better if you do not include additional folders in the Start menu. They do not look nice and for example the Calls folder it is empty or the Messaging one has just one item.
In Settings-Personal-Phone on the Advanced TAB ther is no option to untick the Reject call with a message(this option does not appear) and when your phone is ringing you are not able to just mute it but to reject it with a message.
Another problem is in the Alarm section. When Alarm sounds it starts with it's own ringtone and then it sounds with the Reminder ringtone.
It would be nice to include in your ROM the LongPressEndKey.cab
Replying to a message it does not work and returns you to Home.

ITs looking great. I think your roms are the fastest around, but sometimes I stick with other Roms, because of the icons used in them.
Yeah, fast rom is great, but the visual aspect is also important. I think when you're done with this I might not have to look for another rom. Are you also going to put everything in Folders? Cause at the moment the start menu is full with apps...
And also will you make a taskbar??? That would be really cool!

I especially like the original icons and 3-column start menu. That equals high readability and very touch friendly.
What I do wonder is, why nobody goes for an interface with great daytime visibilty? All these dark ones do look great indoors but outside with full sunlight it's less visible even though the X1 does have - imo - a great display.
I suggest to change the taskbar icons also?
Besides UI Customization, what other specialties are there in this Black ROM?
Is it possible to get to get a WinMo 6.1 version of this ROM once you're finished with the 6.5 version?
WinMo 6.5 doesn't go well with my SEX1 I'm afraid :/

i'm currently using your V.11, other than the Icon changes and programs. Are there any performance/bugs fixed on this new release?
I just flashed the latest version of this rom and I've noticed that, just like some others, it automatically changes my contacts' pictures to their facebook pictures, which is something I like, but when i want to access their facebook albums via their contact page the pics wont load.

does this happen to anyone else? this happens to me with many other manila roms, and even though I ask about this in their threads, no one mentions anything about it. Is there a fix for this that my noobish eyes have not found yet? I've done searches in this forum about this issue but I get nothing significant. Plz help me.

Ye, it happens to me on this ROM & other ROMs as well. I think its just that Facebook hasn't been fully integrated into the Manila properly for the Xperia, i hope the later versions fix this issue. I also have the issue where Facebook wont update certain contact pictures at ALL!. I just live without this feature for now....hope there is a fix soon .

I just tried Rota's rom and it works in his, however, the contacts' pictures don't get updated automatically, you have to do it manually for each one... which would be the greatest pain ever.

I think you should changer a lot of icon or all Icon in start menu it will better. In this Room ( Only this...) i like all black Icon but other color Icon will not suitable for this. I think. Thank a lot itje...

You know, no testers no development, it's all up to you guys...
...well it has become very silent in the non-touchscreen corner of devices. Wings was not especially popular anyway. Most active forum still is the Excalibur - not much different to the Vox where you had a great success of supplying various builds. They would for sure appreciate a multi-language (including Spanish) ROM - as I think that only WWE ROMs are available.
I try to keep the fire burning in the Typhoon, Hurricane and Tornado areas, but hardly any interest left, sadly...

The wings is still a great phone, best battery and signal i've ever had, the only reason i left it was to migrate to android but would use it again with win 6.5 on it.

Whether you continue this project or not, im just letting you know that "Beta 1" works as it should, been using it as my primary phone for past 4 hours with 2gb sdcard and i've used every function, mp3, wifi, text, calls, games, installed extra apps etc.. and I havent had any issues.

1. I flashed the beta2 rom and it stuck at the "smart mobility" screen on boot.
2. I went into manual bootloader mode and attempted flashing beta2 again with no sucess, same problem as before.
3. Im now back to beta1 again
OK, I'll see what I can do without my backup DVD of my old kitchen files (probably a XIP problem...)!
but when i turn in my phone stucks in black screen (smart mobility) on beta 2 and after 30 min its's turning off please some help me

Beta 2 doesnt work, so go back to beta 1.
Start your phone in bootloader mode by powering on with the camera button pressed, then connect your usb cable and flash the beta 1 rom as normal.
I didn't have time yet for fixing this problem. But next week is wide open
