I haven't tested gallery but this will give you HTCmusic.

Incase you didn't have it, I included the HTCmusic.apk
It will only work with the HTC framework, which means an HTC rom.
The only way around it for the music was the modified 1.5 from Stericson(?) or the one from the fender that requires a build.prop change which breaks google voice.

As long as you use googlevoice 0.2 it should work. I'll include it here.

Hey I was looking for a new ROM on my new G1. I would like something with a nice digital clock widget, a messaging widget, and just many downloadable widgets. My brother has Hero on his G1 and I love, the only problem is that I don't like the fact that if you slide it up it just freezes... So are there any somewhat similar to Hero but can slide?

As of right now, no. This is because the actual Hero doesn't have the keyboard, and so when you slide it up, it tries to force Rosie into widescreen which it doesn't support, ergo, the crash. You'll just have to live with it. However, Drizzy has been making some progress with that and has actually gotten Rosie to run with the keyboard open though it crashes and then reloads Rosie when you open the keyboard. He said he'd look into it more so follow his twitter for more info.
EDIT: Forgot to say. Hero ROM's are the only one with a messaging widget. You can download the Digital Clock widget from the market for a small price. I don't know the name of the widget exactly, just do a search for it in the theme section, it was mentioned in there a few times i believe.
There aren't any messaging widgets like the one on the Hero roms. You can download ANY widget to any rom though, just search the market for widgets and see what you find. Hero shouldn't freeze when you "slide up" whatever that means, if your talking about the keyboard when your on the home screen that is because they don't rotate, only in programs. If you mean some other type of slide then most likely your brother didn't do a proper linux-swap partition or it is to small. Anyway you need to just try the different roms and see what you like best, also some themes offer extra widgets and features but remember you can get any widget to any rom, just not the Hero/HTC Rosie widgets because HTC's stuff is closed source so we can't port it.

The modded ones are the best ones. The unmodded original is veryyyyy slow compared to the new ones. I would try JACHeroski 2.1 or MoDaCo 1.51 are both fast, stable choices.

All heros are technically "experimental". I haven't messed with the new Drizzy. I'm still putting JacHeroSki 2.1 throught it's paces. I can recommend it. There are people who like each of the different incarnations of hero.
What I suggest is going to the DEV section and read. Decide on your own. Hell, you can flash them all with switchrom. Have some fun and learn some cool stuff.

this is Jachero. his stuff works great. if you dont like this try jacxrom1.5. it isnt hero but runs great and has a great looking theme.

got hero and switchrom working. i still like jacxrom best. but it is cool to ba able to switch when i get the whim. i have cayn 4.0.4, xrom 1.5r3, and this tinyhero i found. it seams to run faster than most other hero roms. tho it has been striped down alot.

Switchrom for the win. Seriously.. haha Yeah JACxRom is pretty decent. But as far as hero have you tried HERO2 - Freedom of choice? If not I think you'll be impressed. I flash FoC when it was first released and it wasn't anything to write home about but now? Dang.. it's fast. Wicked Fast. Try it out!

...I mean the actual wallpapers, manup's 2.1 rom has the live wallpapers option, just there's only 1 wallpaper, and also the ones in the market are junk mostly, no offence.

like i said, they're not just wallpapers u can rip out and push, it's its own .apk so u have to install lwp.apk to get the lwp's

I ripped some of them and pushed them to /system/app where the cube one is and it's not showing up in the Live Wallpaper picker.

I read it fast and read "..you can rip out and push.." I read through about 40k grammar errors a day so it's reasonable for me to miss one here and there. After reading more I found my answer...You're working on figuring it out in another thread. Pretty tired of looking through all of these damn threads to get one answer. It's cool though, I'll watch the other one until you figure something out. Thanks.

Nexus live wallpaper aren't great, get the one with flying ducks and you can shoot them down
Waiting for the time to have pet live wallpaper where you can play with it, developers here might wanna consider this as your idea for selling android app.
Pet parrot live wallpaper, better if can download toys and see the parrot plays them.
Records sounds/voices and the live wallpaper randomly plays those sounds as parrot mimick sounds.
Just my crazy idea and pardon me if my english is difficult to read. Speaks mandarin most of the time here

yeah i know it's for the droid, but it specifically says 2.1, and manup's latest eclair 1.5 is 2.1 based. so shouldn't it be able to work on his in some way or another?

i try it and it does not work !!
I would like someone to develop a live wallpaper that looks like normal rain in which sporadic drops hit the screen and drip down (sorta like the HTC weather app).
Can't wait to get a newer device!
Installs fine. Only problems are that the clock is cut off and it FC's when you click the music icon. Maybe someone could mess with it while we wait for 2.1 to be released...

Nope I haven't tried it. I figured since we have cupcake the eclair gallery wouldn't work so I didn't even try.

I guess Cyanogen just released the Desk Clock with his new G1 rom but I couldn't install it, maybe someone with some dev knowledge could mess with it....

I am a bit concerned letting the screen on all night long, thinking a cellphone screen is not made to be on for long period of time.

I can only find them in themes and not as icons by themselves. I will include a .zip file of the Desire Icons I found in the Hero CDMA thread.

Here you go! The zip that's attached is supposed to be metamorphed and not flashed. And if you really want the ultra look of the htc desire, I would suggest heading over to the hero link over in my sig and then metamorphing that, and then using this metamorph to give the icons the HTC Desire/New Sense look. And this goes for all people! haha. Well, enjoy!
PS: I figured I would throw the HTC Desire looking wallie in the mix as well. Happy metamorphing!

What do you mean it's not all? I know it's not all..it's MOST of them anyway. The system applications anyway..you didn't even know what to do with that file, and the ones I gave you are correct sense UI icons. Sorry I sound blunt..just feel dissed and think that your 'edited' statement was really not necessary considering I helped you out too and I acknowledge you said thank you but it's almost like your 'edit' statement really was unnecessary, and I really never get offended at anybody. Sorry didn't mean to offend maybe my phone messed up but the contact icon was not right, again it could be my phone i flashed a bunch of stuff so it probably didn't work. Thanks though

Just installed this with metamorph on cm 15.1 and everything worked except the browser. Can you double check that the browser icon is correct? Ill try to reinstall just the browser, in case that's the issue.

Well, try and re-download the zip file because I just tested it right now and it works perfectly for me. Don't know why it's not working for you. Anybody else having this problem? But mine works, and I'm using the same zip file. The one on this page with the updated Contacts.apk icon fix that I messed up on before. Let me know how it works for you after you re-download the file.
Any grumblings about an improved method with Froyo? I understand HTC has a solid one, anyway to transfer that or is it stuck in sense framework like the widgets?
Well to be honest its not impossible because i remember when someone got HTC music to work on the G1 and i think it was with the sense framework... Browser should be easer... i guess..
