Is it possible to change the casing for HD2? - HD2 Accessories

Just wonder if casing is scratch and stuff, is it possible to change it? how much and where?

Change what of the casing? The battery cover? The entire casing?
A little more specific please.

unless you find someone selling theirs for parts, finding a mobo/ribbon would be pretty much impossible.
You're better off buying a new x1.

Replacement housing on Ebay

Was looking to buy a new outer housing for the phone as I dropped it and there are grooves/pits in the soft rubber part of the housing. This one on ebay says it oem, but the camera does not extent as far as out on the original case, and there are no metal edges around the camera bezel (these may actually be better for the device). Was wondering if anyone can confirm if this is indeed oem, maybe htc changed the housing in later models?

thank you...
It looks like the real thing. not sure about the camera bit though. Also, the mini picture in the first image is definitely not the hd2. Might be worth asking the seller.
hello n4v1n,
same housing as original, when you will take off your outer housing, you will see that camera's extention with metal edge doesn't come with it (it's part of the camera's module, not housing)
agree with kengel77.. the camera module is by itself, therefore it will be on your board..
I can confirm that the camera part is part of the housing as I have taken it apart already. The board has just the lens attached to it, nothing else.
Would this work for the T9193 as well as the T8585?
I scuffed the corner of my housing (dropped it onto pavement in the leather sleeve, just happened to land on the exposed corner...) and removing the Telstra branding seems like a plus.
$20 is a pittance.
Also, how difficult/risky is the actual process of replacing the housing?
Ok I can confirm this is NOT an OEM housing as truesupplier.com has it for $98.00!!! too expensive imo. Also @spike15, removing the old housing is easy although you will most likely damage the original housing in the process as u have to pry it open with some sort of plastic edge and it's really tight. I have little grooves in the plastic above where the earpiece is now.

I don't care about the original housing -- it'll be going straight in the garbage.
Can anyone confirm the quality of these housings? Can anyone confirm that the T8585 housing is identical (at least in shape and size) to the T9193 housing?

Since its not oem and from china, MOST likely will be garbage, considering an oem version costs 5X more. just my 2cents./ Also the antenna leads for the wifi, gps etc. are not included, so you will have to take them off the original, they look like stickers and if they tear, you're screwed. I didnt mess with them but they look very fragile.

The T9193 is not the T-Mobile version, it's the Telstra version...
afaik ALL US versions are the t9193's.
the internationals (europe/asia/etc) are the t8585's.

Yea the one at truesupply includes the leads built into the case because it is officially OEM

No, because the T9193 is the Telstra version, and Telstra is an Australian telco.
Do I need to take a picture of my Telstra HD2 box which says "T9193" on it?

yes you have t9193, the housing will NOT fit, end of story.
Are you sure this won't fit?
Someone on page suggested the only reason difference in size might be standard of measure difference. Sounds very ridiculous.
Why are you saying it won't fit?

[Q] Back cover connertors

Hi,
There is two opening to the metal in original battery cover that correspond with two metal connectors on HD2 back.
Does anyone know what they for?

That is the reset button
lol.
seriously, whats that for? the reset button is on the other side.
i think it used for the compass, becuase when i put the magnet beside it, the compass move to my magnet side, so i THINK it is used for the digital compass.
It's the "if you searched you'd know" connector
Used for the originally planned car kit which required a different battery cover.
a magnet any where near would affect the compass
obviously
just seem to be grounding points for the back cover which is metal... the back cover is certainly grounded electrically

On a extended battery cover I did no see corresponding connectors, that is why I asked the question, so there is no grounding with extended battery?

I know, the search doesn't always come up with what we want
Here's a thread on the original with pics showing the special backplate

My guess is that it helps the antenna at the bottom, sort of extending antenna plate

[Q] Anyone know where can i buy Xperia V Lt25i back cover?

Do Anyone know where i can get this other than ebay? An original one, that is also with the waterproof rubber seal..Im kind of worried that those in ebay, that those back cover are just a fake knock off with a fake rubber seal (not tight or even surface or something) which makes it looks like Real.. Any idea? Wanted an original one or maybe China one with a decent quality that cover the battery compartment in the phone.. Thanks in advance ~

sotty, It is for a model F320S Korean
no one?
Just so you know people aren't ignoring you;
That may be a tough one to find. The non-Korean model does not have a removable back cover/battery, it is all integrated. Therefore, those of us (at least) Stateside won't be of much help.
