Hi, all.
First of all i would like to thank all of the people who offer their experience in this web site and help others to solve "strange " problems.
I am a user of an HTC Artemis and recently (before a few days) i bought an HTC Diamond from T-Mobile (MDA Compact iV). I dont know if what im experiencing is really a problem but i thought to give a try and ask.
So the LED above Diamond's screen is not flashing or lighting at any time. Neither when the sim card is in and phone operating nor when it is getting charged.
This is strange to me, since in the Artemis the LED above the screen is flashing when the phoneis operational and permanently on (orange) when it is getting charged either from pc or from a socket.
Anyone has an idea??
Thank you very much for your help and consideration.
Much appreciated.

Its not an LED, its the light sensor.
Thanks
Ohh stupid me. Thanks a lot mate. And i started wondering.
Once again thanks a lot.

friendly advice: read the manual.
I don't remember this as mentioned in the manual - at least not where it described the parts on the phone exterior - though it may be there elsewhere though where I might have missed it.
It was here at xda developers that I got to know about the "LED" being a light sensor
I am seeing that I am the only one posting in this forum. Nobody else is having touch viva or they don't have problem with the device?
What is the reason?
No
no, you are wrong i've touch viva and i haven't problems because i'm very very precise with all the installation and softwares...firstly i've installed only the necessary app, and i've inserted inside a MicroSD of 2GB, where i've collocated all of applications..secondly i think that is a very good telephone because it replaces the old HTC Touch...for 260€ is the best price for a PDA..infact this telephone have a lot of connection and i think that is better than the other HTC (i.e. HTC Jade or diamond) for some reasons: the long life of battery, the measures, and also the price, as I have already said, is very very convenient Which are your ideas?
so...W HTC TOUCH VIVA
p.s:
I'm always here, so you can write and i'll try to responde you in the best of the ways

Thanks devipera64 for your response.
I am happy with the device. It worths the price. Only some minor problems.
Will you please answer my other post about keyboard problem if you have any knowledge?
Thanks again.
Don't worry..if you would, you can write also me in PW..i've saw that the people likes a lot the Diamond's devices..i think that 500€ for a PDA, that isn't indestructible, isn't a good chosen, above all for the pockets of the customers So a PDA like ours, is the top for the level quality/price
ya thats right. i am also happy with my htc viva. i am a new user and been a long fan of Symbian. hope to find this win mobile comparable enough.

Thanks for the suggestion. Actually, I just want the clock off, the article you are referring to gives you a digital clock with the user interface changed.
I love the Manila 2d user interface "minus" the huge arm clock in between. Any idea how to remove just that clock and reatain the rest..
Please suggest..
Hello friends, here writing from Venezuela. What's up! I bought and Sony Xperia X1i last week and I most say it: MEN! WHAT A PHONE!! Is very very good, I'm very happy with it.
Before I was in love with my Blue Angel Siemens SX66, I flashed it until it couldn't take it any more, like 4 years updating it Later I had to move on to another phone because my SX66 was almost broken, but I was curious about the Xperia until finally I got it.
Well, to the point. Today I was watching some other phone's videos because people keep saying that I spend a lot of money in my Xperia when I could buy another phone like the Nokia N95 or the Samsung Omnia i900. I think they are crazy. In some points those phones has good stuff but, I love my Xperia (only the screen size could be bigger but it's ok). Anyway, i found this video:
In that video you can see that the screen interface is very friendly, but I like very much is the screen rotation. When you rotate the phone, the screen rotates automatic showing and cool animation, THAT animation is what I whant to know if there some way to port it to my Xperia. I know that the Xperia doesn't have accelerometer but It will be cool if I can slide the keyboard and see that animation in action.
Any ideas? Thanks guys for your atention and I'm here to help too, I'm new but maybe I can help in something like uploading my stuff and things like that. See ya!
the only good stuff about Omnia is the rotation's sensor, pretty cool. But anyway Xperia is ass kicker !!!!!!!!!
Hey dude, du u think it is senseful just to judge a phone because of it's g-sensor and animation when rotating the phone... I have an Omnia, but never used the X1, so i can't really decide which one is better, but i think, the g-sensor is one of the more unimportant things...it's helpful and both phones have one... could you maybe give some informations about the really interesting stuff, like cpu, ram, rom, > benchmark results < etc ? that would be interesting... then i can benchmark my phone,too... this would be helpful, maybe for others, too
hushcake
edit : sry, i've read the second part again, you checked more then the sensor, right, but a benchmark-result would be nice or 2 or 3 ^^
i think he doesnt want to compare these 2 phones. I think he's only looking for a way to port this rotating animation to his x1
LOL
He is right, I just want to port that animation to my Xperia, just that, I don't want to compare phone or fight about witch is the best.

To me, G-Sensor is the most annoying thing that has ever happened to technology.
Iphone's accelrometer sucked
N95's sucked
Touch Pro sucked...
I always turn off the option if I ever can.
Does anyone else also wish there was a xenon photo flash accessory for X1? I used to have one for my W800i and it worked great. Not sure why there is a complete absence of these for WM devices. I think iPhone's getting one.
I've considered rewiring the W800 flash, but it seems like a mostly impossible task.
I've also searched for registry entries to make the photo light brighter (impossible?) when pictures are taken, but came up empty.
Anyone else have any bright ideas?

Rewiring them won't work. Increasing the brightness on the built-in LED will destroy your phone.
You could buy a separate flash device, but those are fsking expensive.
Best option: Don't use X1 for proper photo's, buy a camera.
sure, i have another camera, but it's not always in my pocket when i'm at the pub at 1am and a kodak moment arises!
anyway, increasing the led brightness for 200 milliseconds is quite unlikely to destroy the phone. (increaing it for 5 minutes is the cause of melted housings etc and that's a different story). i just doubt it's possible outside of some pretty fancy programming, and it may even be impossible.
but if anyone had suggestions for how to increase led brightness when the flash discharges, i'd be willing to be the sacrificial lamb.
Ha ha... well is seems like damn near nobody is interested in a xenon flash. Guess I got my answer as to why no one manufactures such an accessory!

I'm interested in BUILT-IN Xenon flash. I have done my share of pics in clubs and bars and the quality is so-so at best. Pics are good enough to not make me take my camera .

Yeah, me too. Wish there was a built in xenon flash but as far as I know there's not a single WinMo device with such a thing.
Iphone has (or will have) a case that has a built in xenon flash, which would be nice.
I have an electrical engineering friend specializing in LED technology so maybe I'll ask what would happen if we doubled the voltage going through the X1 LED for 200 ms. Still I would have no idea how to make it happen. Maybe I could ask the guy who made hTorch...
I'm interested
Hi, I'm interested too, in fact, I'm interested in anything that can make my Xperia Camera better, I make a post here:
Try to aks your friend quickly, I think that is possible and do not damage the xperia because it is just I little
Theres already a power mode function which is currently provided by hTorch tool.
In my opinion the led gets extremely bright when activating this.
Ontop i think, that the htc cam soft needs led support.

the "exrtra bright" u mentioned gets activated the moment u take the photo
i stongly disadvise any of u using the htorch or tuning up the flash anyways , i got mine busted and another guy too , its a really weak flash module
Well I have to send my X1 to have the LED repaired anyway, because it shifted position, so I'd be happy to torture test the LED to see how high it can go. But I bet that changing brightness during a picture would mean changing a dll file or something, and that's beyond my abilities.

Holy Hell! That happened to me aswell!
Can't really be arsed to get it repaired though, I got two sets of phone insurance, One with the bank and one with vodaphone.
I keep dropping the blithering thing, I've dropped it so much the circuitry is exposed
People still want to buy my phone off me in that condition aswell. Lol

Ni hao, pongyou. Looks like you need a xenon flash for your night shots!
Hi all, I know this is a stupid thread, but today I put my Diamond on a scale and it only showed 95grams! I always thought its 110grams!
Can anyone weight theirs on a good scale just to proof this?
Thanks
