From misc. reasons I will visit Hungary next month. I wish to purchase the new Kaiser, and ask that it will be sent to Hungary.
Am I going to pay any special taxes? Am I going to have problem with local customs, or anything else I should be aware of?
Many thanks,
Amir.
I think you will have no problem with the costum. If you are citizen of any EU state and the PDA will be sent from a EU state, then definitly no problem. No only disadvantage is that you have to show me the Kaiser ! (It was a joke )
Thanks for your reply.
I'm non EU citizen. The package will be sent from the USA (outside the EY of course).
In my country there is authorization lists for cellular phones. Only cellular phones in that list will pass the customs. Other cell phone will be confiscated.
This is annoying and stupid but this is it.
Does in Hungary you can import any cellular phone (Kaiser etc..) with no problems? are any taxes should be payd for this?
P.S Be glad to show you the Kaiser (will be in Pecs and Budapest)
Amir.
I've got a friend living in Finland, and she is currently using a PAYG Finnish mobile. Obviously, she makes and recieves most of her calls to and from the UK.
I'm guessing PAYG isn't the cheapest way to go. Can anyone with local knowledge give me any tips as to which network and package would be best for this situation?
Thanks in advance guys..
Hey guys, I was wondering what would be the best route as far as using my kaiser over in Germany and the Czech Republic. I was wondering if any carriers had good prepaid sim cards with data plans that I could use.
Any info is greatly appreciated.
In Germany you should consider using Simyo or blau.de. It is 24 cents/MB.
So you can only use sim-cards like spitzohr told - at the best 24cents/MB
I would consider "Congstar" - the timing and price are not as good as Simyo (Congstar=100kb 49cent/MB; Simyo/Blau: 10kb,24cent/MB ) but you can use the T-Mobile network with UMTS almost everywhere (Simyo/Blau: E-Plus...not that good )
One thing, too: every sim-card must be activated per internet - the best is to search a trader who sell this cards to your homecountry - ebay helps
Thanks
Thanks for the info!
I will start searching ebay asap.
I'm a US T-mobile user. I will be traveling to Australia on business this week.
If I buy an unlocked Diamond in Australia, will it work in the US?
Also, will the GPS work here without any support from T-mobile?
Thanks,
Craig.
Why not just buy a US diamond from bestbuy or various online retailers? GPS will function independent of carrier support. enjoy your trip!
Well Duhhh! I didn't even know BB was selling unlocked diamonds. I didn't want a Sprint contract and didn't want a chopped down one from Verizon.
Thanks!
Hi everybody,

but now i mouved in Dubai and i Bought an United Emirates SIM Card and my phone doesen't work, it's work if i still use an european SIM but by roamin, but if i insert teh UAE Sim doesn't work.
i can't unlock by insert code by emai because the counter showing ZERO,
so what i can do? i can flash reprogramming or do something for be free worldwide because i travel a lot???
i wish somebody can help me, regards
Sorry I can't help you.
I just want to say, blocking mobile phones from being used internationally should absolutely be made illegal under international laws. Unless of course we buy it bound to a contract.
i think you need to declare the phone or something like that in UAE. i had the same issue and solved it by buying a phone from Dubai.
i dont remember if roaming is also restricted for 30 days, if yes you need to reach the border and register to a foreign network, after that register again in Dubai and the counter is being reseted.
