Basically, akmd is the system daemon for accelerometers, it's what applications and the OS talk to when they want accelerometer data.

In the market, and it kills apps!!!
Oh, nice. Tried it and it seems to be working perfectly on my ADP1.
Yes..seems to work...SWEET!!!
def needs refinement but so far looking good.
it needs to seperate between processes and apps.
Def nice start can't wait to see some updates on it.

Preferably some graphical updates. It can look neater than what it does. And as stated, seperating between processes & apps would be good

AGREED!
How do you know whats what? I mean if you kill a process you could cause a reset/freeze right?
From what I have seen, it can kill the process for a particular program but it still runs in the background and will possibly crash the phone. Hasn't happened yet but might after trying more programs. The only way it might lock up the entire phone is if you close one of the "stock background processes such as android.process.* " but then again... yes we still need something to kill the entire application. It's a good bit different that WM, when you kill the process for the application, then the application closes.

i hate to correct you but the process' are the applications. you mean Services' which are not listed as of yet... i emailed arron and i have not gotten a reply about that. i told him it would be awesome to list the process' and services linked to them so we could kill it all
Looks like the application was updated and it now kills programs! Excellent application, definitely one the best around now.
Questions about TASK MANAGER?
I have it installed on my g1, obviously because I have root access. I noticed there are some apps that keep coming back seconds after I terminate them. For example Craigslist and self help. Anyone know why craigslist keeps coming back. I understand selfhelp may be a background program. Also I restarted my phone and taskmanager shows these programs are already running? Whats up with that?
The 2nd question is when I terminate some apps like powermanager for example, I can still see it running in my notifications and I know it is still running because when I plug in the g1 my power setting are applied. Because it doesn't show it in the in the taskmanager list.
Does anyone else notice this? Task manager doesnt seem to eliminate some apps from running. It makes question that it really works. Can anyone verify this?

Yea it keeps coming back because it loads a Service that isn't listed on this program that continues to run the search command. The intervals are not that frequent but it keeps it loaded.
Craigslist checks every few minutes for postings, I believe. You can track particular posts. It's annoying that you can't disable it.
Can´t find it in the market..
Can someone share the app via mail or upload somewhere, please?

Taskmanager has been removed in favor of the premium app Advanced Taskmanager. It's only $0.99 and is a lot better then the old Taskmanager.

I was wondering if there was any application like SPB Wireless Monitor (http://spb.com/pocketpc-software/gprsmonitor), but for Android, so that I can monitor how much bandwith each of my applications is using. Thanks.
There are plenty. To name a few:

Unless I'm mistaken, none of those apps will show you data usage by application. I'm looking for something like SPB's app which tells me how much data is used by each individual application.
You can check it in Spare Parts in any custom ROM, "Battery Usage", "Network Usage".

Any way to check in a rooted, but otherwise stock ROM (FRF91)?
Yes, this is only a shortcut through Spare Parts. But I don't remember the code you need to enter into Dialer to get to this menu. Might be the top one:

Any idea if TrafficInfo or TrafficStats can be used in conjunction with NetCounter?
I've been getting a notification very frequently that says "searching location" and then a little while later says "location found." Is this normal? I have location set to high accuracy. I guess it isn't that big a deal, I just find it a bit annoying.
I think this has something to do with the moto app. Haven't figured out which part yet. But I got the same thing happening. Think it's normal

It is probably the command center thingy widget triggering it.

Yeah, I know what he's talking about.. But there's no entry for "command center" in the apps list (Settings -> Apps -> All) where you can disable it completely. Hence why I'm asking him if he knows the entry's name, so I can disable it.

Actually my bad - there was an entry for "Command Center" and it was already disabled. So to answer your question, disabling the command center does not fix this "Location Found" issue.
If this issue hasn't been resolved yet - Next time you see the notification, long press it in the notification drawer before it disappears and hit app info and it will show you what app it is. I'm not sure if you can disable it though
When i type *#*#4636#*#* usage statistics and battery dont show up. Where can i find this info?
It's not the code for getting the usage info. If you want to do that, just go to the settings of the phone, and then battery and performance, there you will find the information that you are looking for.
Cheers.

These are different usage info, the code is used to get to Phone Information 1 & 2 and WLAN info.
OP, it's working for me on Google messages on miui. There's also an app on playstore "MIUI Hidden settings" you should be able to get to it from there.

Hi All, i'm not sure which system pacakage i disable, i'm not able to use split screen. Click on "Open in split screen view" but nothing happen.
hopefuly someone can enlightening me, i do not want to reset my phone. Thanks.
If you've been disabling system packages without knowing what they do then no wonder you have issues. Maybe provide a list of packages you did disable so we can try to work out if they would affect screen split. Otherwise we are just searching in the dark.
managed to solve it through restoring some of the packages i debloated earlier by using ADB AppControl. Split view is working now.
Which package did you restored, because I have the same problem?

I thought that app was for the edge panels. I'm surprised that would break split view. Just goes to show how far reaching some apps really are. Glad you sorted it.

That actually makes some sense because depending on which edge panel you enable it will only allow split view capable apps. which is a giant PITA for me. I hate split screen and have managed to disable it so I can use my panel as more like a quick launch bar....but i can only add split view capable apps to the bar.
