Hi all,
First post on this great site - keep up the good work!
I have an issue with my MDA Compact II - I've recently sacked my T-Mobile contract, and have a work contract with Orange, which I now use (I've used Lokiwiz to unlock the phone). Unfortunately my Orange SIM doesn't fully work on my MDA. I can make/receive calls with no problems, but whenever I try to send a text message, the following dialogue pops up:
"The phone is not ready. Wait 15 seconds and try again."
Well, I could wait for 15 hours and it wouldn't change. I've removed the battery, and left that for an hour, still no difference. I've recently upgraded my ROM to see if that would make a difference - no joy. My current version:
ROM - 2.6.2.27 WWE
Any help would be appreciated - I'm having to use an exceedingly boring Nokia 6021 at the moment! I don't really want to resort to just using my MDA as a PDA! Cheers - let me know if you need further information to answer my question.

Worked for me.
Aparently, the SIM's used in a M3100 are designed specifically for these devices and later. Thats the official line from Orange...Just spoke to them for 45 minutes trying out 5 different devices and they have concluded its a "compatability issue"
I was using an M3100 SIM in an M600...although it DOES work in an E650...
Hope this helps!
Hi!
I´m totaly new to the HTC hardware so please be patient. This is the story....
I got my Kaiser yesterday (3 branded, sweden) and when i inserted my 3 simcard the kaiser said i should type in some code into simlock. I have tried diffrent simcards (also 3) with the same result. 3 wants me to send the phone back to them.
Now here is my question:
When the simunlock software/hack is out to the kaiser, is it possible to unlock my phone or should i send it back?
Hi,
I recently "Upgraded" from my good and faithful wizard (Vario I) to the almost as good and almost as faithful TyTN II (Vario III).
After flashing my Wizard, it instantly removed the SIM Lock (Or I dont remember doing any extra steps for doing so).
I recently flashed HSPL and Ive tried a couple of ROMS for the TyTN and while testing around I shoved in a SIM card from another mobile provider, I found out with great surprise that my TyTN II is still SIM locked.
I had been wondering why my device seems so sluggish and slow, could It be I flashed it wrong? Or is it "Normal" for it to be still SIM locked even after flashing the HSPL?
Thanks!
Did you use the sim-unlocker? (you can find it here)
After this step you can use the vario III with every simcard
here it is

Yes it is normal. The roms and spl you flashed are the OS and the bootloader. You havent changed the radio which is the simlocked bit.
**** WARNING n00b Question *****
I'm a techy at heart in the network security field but this is the first attempt I've made at (bricking) my phone. I've recently purchased an MDA Compact IV because I love the style and feel but I'm with Orange not t-mobile.
I've added the latest updates from the absolutely marvelous xda-developers site and am very pleased indeed. Will be donating very soon.
Main reason for upgrading is to get rid of the pink display and to unlock the sim so as to use with Orange.
So has anyone been able to unlock the MDA Compact IV? Or is there something I'm missing?
Thank you all for the brilliant site.
My dutch compact IV didn't even have a simlock . So just try another sim-card before you try to unlock the thing, maybe it isn't needed.
i have a MDA and it's not looked...you can use it with any simcard
I wish mine was....
I've tried 3 Orange sim's and still the same thing:
Top left corner SIM Lock
followed by white screen saying
Network is locked, Please input unlock code
I've called t-mobile to ask for the code saying I was traveling to the states they replied "It will be £15 and you have to wait till you've been with us for 1 month"

DrRavel, is yours a UK T-Mobile phone? Mines is certainly locked to TMob!
mine is locked as well in uk
Well whatever you do don't use this useless service...
unlocksearch.com Stupid me didn't read that in fact it doesn't unlock your phone just reports to you how you may go about it, things you already know. Out £2.99 I'm kicking myself now.
Tried another site instantunlockcodes.co.uk and it looked more promising but in the end £4.10 later no joy. At least they said if I could use the service again to unlock one they could unlock..... They already have my money!
Why couldn't they just give you a complete list of which ones they can do?????
I'm tired of walking around with two phones, I will gladly pay to have my MDA Compact IV unlocked, provided it can be done....
pay tmobile £15. thats what i did

this, simply follow the instructions from Olipro
HTML:
FULLY CHARGE YOUR PHONE, CONNECT IT TO ACTIVE SYNC ON THE PC
STEP 1:
Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe from folder STEP1, allow the flash and reboot and let it finish all its tasks on first boot
STEP 2:
Run DiamonCustomRUU.exe from folder STEP 2, allow the flash, and reboot and let it finish all its tasks on boot
STEP 3:
Copy DiamUnlock.exe from folder STEP 3 onto the the 4GB storage card of the phone, now goto file explorer in the phone, and run DiamUnlock.exe, it will open up the options to SIM UNLOCK and SECURITY UNLOCK - tick these boxes and press UNLOCK
If all is well it will say UNLOCKED, now reboot your phone with any simcard in, YOUR DIAMOND IS NOW UNLOCKED !
(Older versions of DiamUnlock.exe closed very quickly and you had to try many times to click on the unlock buttons, I have included the fixed version I think that does not close quickly and should be very easy to unlock)
if Htc charmer (Mda compact II) is simlocked
what happens when you put a non-accepted (other providers simcard)
will it ask for any code or not? normally other Htc pocket pcs ask a Network / restriction code..
it will explode and burn everything in 2km diameter, like nuclear bomb.
seriously - i have never seen charmer simlocked. imho t-mobile has never put simlock into it - i had two charmers, one from t-mobile CZ and second one from t-mobile DE and none of them was locked.
