Can't boot into recovery - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Having trouble with Rogers HTC Dream, I had the latest CM rom running, but last night it started to have trouble booting, and would only boot when plugged in to my PC. I thought to reinstall so I wiped system, flashed radio and recovery but I cannot boot into recovery no matter what I do. I can get into fastboot no problem and it shows the following:
DREAM PVT 32B ENG S-OFF
HBOOT=1.33.2005 (DREA21000)
CPLD-4
RADIO-3.22.26.17
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm praying I can get this thing working again
If it wasn't clear, I can't boot into anything else either, I can only boot into fastboot mode.

Get the Amon Ra's recovery image and try flashing recovery via fastboot.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

i've tried that a bunch of times with different versions, none of them will boot, I am trying to restart from DREAIMG.nbh, but my phone is saying the checksum is incorrect?
The one in CM's wiki for full update is taking forever to dl, so i googled and found one the same size, is there a specific version i need to get?

RC29 is the one you need

Do NOT flash any NBH files!!!
You have fastboot, that is ALL you need!
Your recovery doesn't boot because you have an EBI0 recovery image installed and an EBI1 radio!!! Fastboot in an EBI1 recovery or an EBI0 radio and EBI0 boot.

[q] help me please!!

I was flashing and setting up my Froyo for Trout on my G1. But when i restarted and rebooted into recovery (Amon_RA 1.7.0 cyan), things suddenly messed up. In recovery, i could only see "Build: Ra-recovery-1.7.0-cyan" at the bottom of the screen. The rest was black
So i did search, and use fastboot to erase recovery in order to reinstall it. But when i put the command "fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-dream-v1.7.0-cyan.img", it said "writing 'recovery'....FAILED <remote: image type not support> "
Now i have no recovery, so i cannot do anything!
I guess flashing recovery through fastboot is only able with engineer SPL. But i am having the Hboot 1.33.0013d and 2.22.27.08 radio combo. What can i do now?
Please, anyone have idea? Thanks very much!
I believe you can refer back to ezterry's thread on the 2708 radio. He did post a NBH to use when you want to revert.

[Q] 2708+ cant get to recovery

Hello, I have this problem with my T-mobile G1
followed this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9055790&postcount=1
to install 2708+ enabled kernel
everything goes fine so far i have:
DREAM PVT 32B SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-1.33.0013d DREA11000
CPLD-4
RADIO-2.22.27.08
installed RA dream 1.7.0 according to instructions but everytime i try to enter recovery im stuck on G1 logo and cant get there any solutions?
yeah tried search didnt find any answers...
did following:
1) Take a nandroid backup of your current rom (mandatory if you are trying to move the current rom to the new radio/SPL) to simplify things put any update.zips you expect to need on the SD card now
2) enter fastboot mode
3) flash the files and other operations via fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-dream-v1.7.0-cyan.img
fastboot flash radio radio-2.22.27.08.img
fastboot flash hboot hboot-1.33.0013d.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
now you will see you have an s-on boot loader with 1.33.0013d as its version
Code:
fastboot erase system -w
fastboot erase boot

Click to collapse
Does fastboot still work? Can you re-"fastboot" recovery?
You did a search? Honestly?
Anyway go back to EzTerrys 2708 thread and try reading the OP, only this time read it properly.

Change your title you only have what is considered a 'soft brick'
Checksum invalid means corrupt file, have you tried redownloading the .img and copying it to the sdcard. If still same error try a different usb cable.
I'm guessing your on Windows so go here http://code.kliu.org/hashcheck/ and install it and that way you can confirm md5 checksums
The stock image will be something like DREAMG.nbh, not .img. I think it will also re-flash your radio and SPL to stock, so I'm not sure why you would want to flash it after updating them.
I'm a little rusty on my G1, but I think that danger SPL will change your partitions, which probably causes the bootloops/boot to hboot. I think you want to flash a recovery and then flash a ROM.
Soft Bricked My G1!!!! Need Help...
I downloaded the DREAMG.nbh file about five times and tried to flash it and it gives me the same error again. All 5 from different sources.
The checksum is correct.
I uploaded the file using my card reader after completely formatting my SD card.
How do i flash a recovery with fastboot???
I thought the only way i can get it back was by flashing the DREAMG.nbh and getting the phone back to stock!!!
If you are in fastboot, then you would type this from your computer:
fastboot flash recovery your_recovery_file.img
For the G1, Amon Ra 1.7.0 is/was popular.
This assumes that you have fastboot installted on your PC! Search around, there are plenty of guides here.

Restore ROM, NO OS help

Situation: No OS, S-ON, No Recovery - TWRP. HTC One Rogers Firmware. Trying to get any os on it at this point
Tried to fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
Says successful on prompt but freezes with 4/5 bar on the HTC one silver screen
Any ideas?
Not sure what the problem is. If you have no recovery then fastboot flash a recovery and then adb push or sideload a Rom to your phone

If you are truly a Rogers branded device, here is the kitkat ruu to flash. Will be totally stock with newest bootloader (will not be able to s-off), can still unlock bootloader and flash twrp 2.6.3.3 or 2.6.3.4
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_..._10-38r-1157-04l_release_351317_signed_2-exe/
Tried them both gives me a image error or signature failure so i don't believe these are the correct RUU's my current image verison is 1.29.631.17
I tried Flash_recovery_4.19.401.11. and Previously when i had recovery and tried to sideload it gave me a system error and just kept loading.
INFO on bootloader screen (if it matters)
-------------------------------------------
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.44.0000
Radio-4a.14.3250.13

? Did you try and flash the ruu or run it from windows?
Here is a 4.3 nandroid for twrp you can sdeload and try

SOLVED
Hey thanks a lot for helping me. I have been able to solved it myself.
If someone would like to know what i did:
(for any noobs like me - UNLOCK the phone first to install a recovery)
It didn't properly wipe/format in twrp 2.6.3.3 because of decrypt pw, had to upgrade to 2.7 wipe it then go back to 2.6.3.3 then type adb usb
while mounted with data selected only. adb sideload button did not work.
Installed Android Revolution 62 directly and works fine now!
Thanks a lot for your help though!

Htc Incredible S - boot loop with Recovery

Hello.
I got this - htc incredible s
VIVO PVT SHIP S_ON RL
Hboot -2.02.0002
Radio-3831.18.00.11_M
eMMC-boot
Can boot into bootloader, have recovery CWM 6.0.2.7
I stuck in HTC booting screen. Tried to wipe cache and stuff and restore from backup - same problem.
Actually the problem begun when i tried to get s-off and wanted after that to restore from backup, and it did this to my phone.
Any suggestions? Any help would be highly appreciated.
Actually solved this issue, now it's ok.
Don't know what was wrong. I did full wipe with dalvik and cache and partitions. Then installed the required rom, then booted to bootloader and to fastboot, then extracted boot.img from the .zip rom i flashed before, and flashed it to boot via adb shell.
