Guys, if I send a message more than 1 page, it often doesn't get delivered. Any idea why?
Thanks
long sms problem with reliability
I have the same issues. I have tried changing radios multiple times. Cant find anything to make it more reliable.
Switching back to stock rom makes it reliable again (Telstra Australia Rom) however that isnt really an option since I hate it.

Hey guys,
I've been a long time owner of the Alpine and have learnt to deal with it's strange little quirks and one way I did that was to upgrade to Deathnoises cooked ROM which is fantastic.
The problem is, is that I've lost the autoconfig to setup my Optus MMS settings which for the life of me I can't figure out. I've tried contacting Optus and getting them to send me the txt message which helps set it up, and the SMS never comes through.
My friend also has an Alpine with stock rom, I can't even find the settings in that.
Anyway, I'm trying to find an Asian cooked rom, or the Autoconfig that I can use to get my Optus MMS settings back.
Hi all, I have a couple of problems with my HTC Diamond on orange, i've searched through the forums and cant find the answers.
It's on the latest orange ROM.
1. Message was not sent try again?
I get this message now and again when there is no sms signal. My question is why do we get it at all, in most other phone, its puts the message in the outbox and sends when it gets a signal. Is there a tweak to force this. This flipping thing has caught me out more than a number of times by not sending pretty important texts.
2. Text not clearing when sms is sent
My diamond appears to keep the last word put into an SMS message in the input area which means it doesnt shrink, so i cant see the screen properly. The only way to clear this is to delete the remaining text. I think this is the case whether i use T9 predictive or normal text.
3. another one, I saw on the HTC site a tool to backup all your settings etc on the diamond but i typed in my serial number and it said not available for this device? are there any reasons for this? any other options?
Appreciate any help you can give
David
Just a couple of frustrations, otherwise the new rom has speeded things up great
1) I think this is normal WM behaviour. The message will have exceeded a set number of retries, so it's moved back to the drafts folder to prevent your battery getting drained. At least you get a warning! I only ever had this happen once, on NYE, so perhaps you just live in a bad signal area or need to flash a different radio.
2) This is a bug with the HTC keyboards. Attempting to dismiss the extra characters often results in the last word you typed being entered twice. It's one of the reasons I stopped using the HTC keyboards and started using TouchPal instead. There were a couple of other reasons too, including better operation in Opera and greater readibility in threaded texts - and that's before you get to the extra functionality. I wouldn't change back now if you refunded me 3 times the purchase price!
3) I know nothing about this tool but there are plenty of other backup tools available if you search for them.
3) you have an orange branded device. If the software was paid for by orange, then you would be allowed to download it.
Despite the fact that the device was made by HTC, legally, you have an orange product and HTC are not obliged to offer you any support or downloads whatsoever.
and yeah, you can find that particular backup tool if you look hard enough...!
Hi all,
This has happened twice now, the first thing I know about it is when someone phones me and says "did you not get my text?"
I then proceed to send myself a text and nothing happens!
I have tried flashing new roms, different radio and still the missing texts to not arrive.
To get them to arrive I have to stick my sim into my partners nokia, one I get the missing texts my phone them works properly and I can receive all texts.
Has anyone heard of this before?
I'm on o2
Hey Peoples
Had the galaxy for a few weeks and loving it so far, seems fairly stable. Im running 2.2.
Only thing I've noticed on the phone is it has alot of SMS failures. Maybe 25-35% of sms's I send will result in a failure, then i resend and goes through. It happens when I have full reception, and never happened previously with any old phones so im assuming its the phone.
Ive been with Optus (AUS) for the last 10+ years and never had any issues before so yeah think there network is all good.
Ive checked my settings and im using the same serivce centre settings as before. In SMS/Settings I havnt got anything selected except "delete old messages" and "notifications"
Anyone notice anything similar ?
Thanks
+1
I often find this too. I'm on Orange in the UK, I originally put it down to poor signal but it does happen far too often for that to be the only cause. Never had anything like it on previous phones
somewhat good to hear its not just me then
Just out of curiosity, which SMS program are you using ? I just use the default one. I Might try another SMS app (unless your having the same issues with another app)
Ive used the samsung default messaging app, Android AOSP messaging app, and ChompSMS. They all are the same though when it comes to failed deliveries so I suspect its something to do with the modem? Maybe would be better to try out different modems to see if that makes any difference?
Been on quite a few roms, and always seem to run into the same problem. Every once in awhile the timestamp for incoming messages is behind by 5 hrs. I have tried the sms time fix and still the same issue. Its not a huge deal but it does get annoying trying to find my most recent msg when i get it lol.
I'm on Rogers btw.
I've heard this from a few Canadian users, seems that its because there is no Canadian locale in those roms, try "effin eh" by trussello a fellow neighbor to the north, that should have the locale settings in it to prevent that from happening.
Thats what I was thinking, just trying a few different ones right now to see how often it happens with each
