What is this cab needed for?

Is this really that hard to google? Most carrier do not use it but leave it if you are not sure.

Siemens_SX66_1.33.110_WWE Simple Description

Before the FTP meltdown I had read two files Siemens_SX66_1.33.110_WWE.doc and a simple decription of what each file in it did. I have the above document with all the tech details but was hoping someone had or knew where to find the simple translation for lesser technophiles to understand. I assumed wrongly that the MediNet.Cab set all the MediNet setting. Such would be too simple and now I need to know what other Cingular config cab you need to have the passoword and such for MediNet.
Besides it would be nice to know what is really junk besides the call id picture thing.
Thanks
W
As far as the password is concerned ,you have to d/l and install the software and create an account with Cingular. If you do not have a media package, you have to get one.

Hey guys...I'm wondering on this build, is there anything, I, as a unlocked T-mobile user, will want to stay away from? Or is it cool for anyone?
Thanks for answering my probably-stupid question.

Not your normal PTT question ** Please Help Me ***

Ok I think I am one of the few people that actually uses the PTT feature from ATT, I love using the cooked ROM's but can not locate a CAB for the PTT functionality. Does anyone know if it even exists?
I have searched and searched, but all I get is CAB files for re-mapping the PTT button, which I do NOT want to do...
Please help me or I am stuck with the bloated ATT ROM.
look in the updating section...there is no way to get PTT on a non-at&t rom i believe...
Yes there is. You'll need to hunt down all the files for it (Try alex's oem pacages maybe) & then find someone that has it installed that's willing to do a partial registry export for you.
If you put all the PTT files into the windows directory & then import the correct registry settings, it will work. I'd help out, but I don't use PTT & didn't back up my settings.
You can try try this cab: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=44721&d=1185085638
& then this to enable the button assignment: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=44722&d=1185085670
But you'll still probably have to run the provisioning xml &, like I said import the correct registry keys.
Ohh, & after installing the above then do this one last. http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=60402&d=1196730655
what the heck....how come when i asked this question everybody said no? lol
in that case...i have the same problem as you...i want PTT back on my my tilt...only i removed PTT the stupid way....deleted every registry key and .exe and folder that had to do with it only b/c that smiley face drove me crazy...
hmm...that first cab did the trick for me...i opened up PTT...and it says
"PTT charges will apply.
Do you wish to initialize PTT?
im afriad to click yes, b/c if i do..i dont want to get that smiley face back...
You will still probably need to use the last cab to. It's an AT&T fix.

Bro I had made the same thread and I have the CAB file bro. It puts the Icon in the programs menu and works. I'm using it on Dutty's Diamond Rom. I'll attach in my next post. Have to dig up my thread.

A few questions about my new Wing

Hi everyone... I am trying to find out a few things about my new phone. I am brand new to Windows Mobile, coming from a blackberry, and have done much searching on here, but haven't found exactly what I'm looking for.
I have found tons of posts on how to disable threaded texts. Not sure why anyone would want to do this, (I'm still used to my blackberry, and I love the threaded texts)... so I am wondering how I get that, because mine must be already disabled. Mine only shows the messages that were sent to me. I did get a program from a guy I work with called Xtreme text, which is ok, but kind of slow.
Also, I would like to know if I can disable or at least change the sound that my phone makes when I send a sms. I went into sounds and turned off notifications, and that turned it off, but it also turned off the sound for when I receive a text.
I saw that there are different operating systems I guess they are, and some of them maybe would give me the things I'm looking for, but a lot of them say that the transcriber has been disabled, and that is the whole reason I had to lose the Blackberry, because we are using a new program at work and I need to be able to have my phone signed with the stylus.
I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks!
Welcome to xda-devs! consider this your "get questions anwered without just being to sold to search" pass.
Threaded texts are not natively supported in WM6. You must flash a WM6.1 rom for natively supported threaded texts. Flashing roms is really fun and kind of addicting (at least imho). There are currently 2 methods for flashing roms- USPL and Hard-SPL. Your phone is protected from rom changing with a "CID-Lock" that is built into the SPL of your phone. The USPL uses a temporary SPL to disable the lock where as Hard-SPL flashes a totally new SPL that has no CID-lock.
Romwise, we do not yet have an abundance of cooks. We have two main cooks, itje and ttran. They make the "Touch-it" and "Open Touch" roms, respectively.
Now about the transcriber. The transcriber takes the text that you write and translates it into text. I am not sure what program you could use to actually sign documents.
Welcome to xda-devs!
Thanks fzzy! Ok, so in your opinion, what would be the easier way for a newb to do this, and what would be the flash that I wanted to use? I am totally new to all of this and will need step by step instructions on how to do all of it without turning my phone into a paperweight.
Any suggestions and help will be awesome! The main things I want are the threaded texting, and to be able to scroll through my contacts with my finger like the iphone I guess. Also, I would really like for the phone not to make that bell noise when I send an sms. The thing with the transcriber i believe is built into the program that we will be using, but the ability for the phone to accept the movement of the stylus needs to be active still.
Thank You!

How2flash!!!
Very important.....
And if you hard-spl... you can test any rom you want....
Yeppers. As fzzyrn said, you don't need the transcriber since all that does is translate what you write into words. If you do want it, though, you can built a ROM using my kitchen that includes it.

Boo hoo, no body loves me. I'm gonna built one ROM with every configuration possible with my kitchen and release it so that people will start talking about my Clean series ROMs. hehehe
Hmm I still don't really understand what any of that means. Maybe I will just have to learn to like this phone the way it is.
It does say though, under "programs you need" that you need active sync if you have XP. What if you are using Vista?
I am going to keep reading posts to find out as much as I can, but this is all pretty confusing to me so far...

My suggestion:
1. USE your device about a few weeks. You never tune a car before you tested it.
2. Meanwhile READ, READ, READ and you will understand WinMobile etc.... and Activesync and WMDC on Vista
3. NOW start searching apps you want to try....
4. And now think about falshing a tuned up Operating system....
But please take time for 1-3!!!!!!!

Would it maybe be easier for me to just try the palm threaded sms program, since that's really the biggest thing I want? Also, does anyone know how to turn off that stupid annoying sound that comes up and says message sent? That thing is really annoying me!
Thanks!

you got to reg edit it(use a reg editor like PHM Reg edit0
then go to HKLM(hey_local_machine)\software\microsoft\inbox\settings
SMSNoSentMsg = 1

Ok, sorry but I'm really new to this... is this reg editor something I run on the phone, or on the computer while the phone is connected to it?
Thanks
youhave to install PHM reg edit to your phone or use this on your desktop computer(attached):
ok, so I started the regeditor and connected my phone, and went into HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Inbox but then there is no settings folder, only "Ldapinfo", "sendDriver", and "Svc". Any suggestions on where to go from there?
Thank you!
here i created a cab file for you.
just copy it to your wing then click it and it will fix this sent message thing
hmm I copied it and clicked it, and it opened a bunch of text in IE, but it didn't stop the message sent notification. Not sure if I did something wrong or what...
lordy lordy. how'd i forget ivan? haha.
we should also add albert now what with his carbon rom, eh?
oh by the way, you need to click it from your device, not form your computer. trix is for kids (get it?). oh and you should get some "cab via activesync" software so you don't hafe to repeatedly copy and open.
so it didnt install at all?
i tried it on my wing and showed this:

What do you mean with "inable and disable cabs"? I sopose you want to enable and disable something but what do you mean with cabs? If you mean files with a .cab-extention - they are compressed installation files which can't be "disabled". Or do you mean something different?

You want a program that "makes feasable" the ability to "Flavor with hot spices" a "taxi?"
I don't know if I've seen one of those.
well what i mean i have a few cabs installed in my tilt and now i want to stop them from running but i dont want to delete them.
for the guys who have so much time to troll around here and act like children. sorry to inform you that there are people on the internet that english is not there first language. so please do us all a favor and grow up. leave your abused childhood past to your self.
Do you perhaps mean that you have programs that automatically run each time you power your device on?
In which case, FORGET ABOUT THE WORD __CAB__
This is only how those programs are initially installed onto your device.
OK, moving on...
If each program does not have an options page, when you enter its interface, then you could try navigating to
My Device\Windows\Startup
then delete the shortcut in there that refers to the program you want to stop from automatically running.
Resco Explorer will definitely see all files you need, you may need to fiddle if you want to use the standard Windows Explorer.
I agree people troll around here often, but if you explain what you need a little more clearly, you will give them less opportunity to do so.
If you do NOT in fact want to stop programs from automatically running, without un-installing them, please ignore above

Well, your last sentence was not very grown-up either! You don't want to be abused and jet abuse others! As my father would say: It takes two to tango.
as for your question: I don't know what cabs exactly you have installed but it's either some apps or some tweaks and non of which can be "disabled". You can uninstall the apps again (which you don't want) or just not run them. Or in case of apps which install some additional system services or which starts with the phone you can disable them from starting by hand (in the registry) or you can use some tweak-tool like MemMaid; Which I would recommend since you can destroy much less with that one. But both is risky if you don't know what you do.
maybe an example would help us to help you?
what did you install? (so that we know, if it even runs)
i guess with delete you mean uninstall?

Whoa Geez Chill. I Assumed English wasn't your first language. I was merely using my resources available to me to try and understand the question. Maybe I was too literal.
Asked, Answered.... Closed
@Streetknight: Your original question had nothing to do with want you were trying to accomplish. As you have not seen fit to even select your country in you user profile we have no indication of your language problems (if could be a young & dumb kid just as easily as someone who has very little english skills). As the person asking the question it is your responsibility to state clearly what you are trying to accomplish.
Had you said "I have installed some software that automatically starts everytime I reset my phone and I want to stop the automatic start." you would have received an answer fairly quickly.
Now you can say that your knowledge of English is low but then I'd have to remind you that you choose to ask your question on an English Language Forum. The expectation therefore is that you have sufficient English skills to properly ask the question and also understand the answer.

deactivating push to talk

My girlfriend owns a Tilt and we foolishly activated push to talk and created a username and all. now I want to get rid of the feature all together (disabling only creates that blue icon in the top bar and doesn't go away). I've tried soft reset as well as removing the battery and the sim card but it doesn't appear to make a difference. how do I get of this little pain in the ass?

delete the "ptt" file using a registry editor. there are threads on how to do this please use the search function.
I did search the forums and most of the posts involved remapping the ptt key, not actually disabling the service, which is what I want to do. The service is active, and I want to turn it off as if I'd never activated it.
call up at&t then
I did a Hard Reset, which did the trick.
I also had made a back-up prior to activating it so I had something to go back to when I was done messing with it.
when I do a hard reset will i have to re-activate the phone with the provider, in this case at&t, via ESN and all the other info?
You will not have to reactivate your phone, but you will lose any data not stored on a MicroSD card.

I love the condescending attitudes of people who know more and refuse to help out those looking for some help.
I know how to do reg tweaks, cabs and so forth but my experience with flashing and hard reseting isn't there yet.

I don't know if it so much condescending as it is trying to develop the site.Going by your joining date this appears to be your first post. Coming on to a developers site and asking how to get rid of an AT$T service is like going on to a hardcore Hot Rod Enthusiast site and asking how to do an oil change on your Honda. Sorry

get Sk tools, and in process u can kill the PTT...and also in windows startup you can disable the ptt
