Sending duplicate messages on reboot. - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all.
I tried search both the XDA site and google, but am not having any luck.
My problem is that my phone sends out a duplicate message whenever I reboot. It's not the last message that was sent, it's some random message, usually like 20 messages ago.
I am running the latest version of Cyanogen 1.6 with no theme.
I have done a full wipe and install, but the issue persists.
The problem occurs even after a fresh install, no additional programs.
I actually have the same problem with both my G1 and my MyTouch.
Can you please help me get this resolved, it is very annoying.
Thank you very much.

did you try a different rom?

This happened to me too but It stopped after a while... Don't exactly know what caused it ..

T-Mobile Wing w/ touch-It ROM messaging problem

I have flashed this rom onto my phone twice, both times working fine for maybe 3-4 days, after which the messaging fails to initiate when I attempt to open it. Not only do I not receive email or text, but I cannot even open the app to read any messages already there. The first time I thought I might have messed something up, but it happened again when I wasn't even using my phone. I've tried soft resetting to no avail. I don't want to hard reset every time this happens, for obvious reasons. Can this be corrected in the registry? I don't understand why this is happening, but any help is very much appreciated.
Whenever I had problems with the Messaging app not opening, it was because I was saving attachments to the Storage Card, and somehow, the card became corrupted. Once I stopped doing that, I didn't have any more issues.
For what it's worth, the problems with the storage card getting corrupted stopped when I stopped syncing the phone via USB and went Bluetooth/OTA only.
yes
im having the same thing happen.. any update?
How about you say which rom you are using .... That info would be greatly helpful in your question. There are many touch it roms.

Really odd G1 messaging problem. Help?

Hello all. I made this topic because my one friend and I have had a strange messaging problem the last couple of days.
Now, we both have rooted G1's and flashed Micro Hero for the Hard SPL on our phones. We've been using this ROM for about a month without any flaws for the whole time, but now our messaging keeps acting up. What keeps happening is when we go into our messaging app, the messages we send all get sent to the bottom, and the messages received from others all get sent to the top. That, and all the time stamps don't usually have times but just say "Yesterday". The fix I used that worked was re-flashing the ROM, but for all of those who flash ROMs a lot, you probably know how much of a pain it is to set up your phone again after re-flashing. There has to be some other alternative to this. And yes, I've tried using different messaging up but it did the same thing.
So has anyone else had this problem, or it it possibly T-Mobile and not us? Or could it possibly be that we have too many messages at once? I only had about 140 messages when this started happening, and than about 20 the second time it happened, so I really doubt it's that. I just don't see why it would start happening now all of a sudden and not right away.
It sounds like a problem on T-Mobile's and time-stamping the messages causing things to go to weird locations because they are trying to sort the messages by time. But if you can fix it by reflashing, then would download Backup for Root Users and use that everytime you need to re-flash. Good luck.

Thanks, and I'll try that as I'm downloading Backup for Root Users now. I just hope I don't I find a fix besides re-flashing though because I'm having to re-flash once a day at this point. It's really annoying.

Old SMS Resending On Restarts

This has been happening a lot lately, I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing this issue as well. Every time I boot up my phone an old SMS will send to its original recipient. Needless to say I'm getting tired of people asking "Why did you resend that to me?"
I'm running Cyn 4.2.3.1 (but it has occurred on his other builds as well) I'm using handcent and stock message app.
Any other additional info anyone would need to help with this issue just let me know.
Thanks in advance.
I used to get this on the early hero builds.. along with some other sms issues, but I've never noticed it since I switched back to CM..
I'm having this same issue. It seems that when I reboot my phone it clears out the text messages I've sent and received the last few days and resends one from a couple days ago.

SMS issues

SMS on every app, and on every HERO rom I've flashed the past 2 or 3 days have had this same issue. My sms are incoming at a time that is ahead of what the time should be on the timestamp, so when i send a reply it puts it above the first response. This causes my messages to end up completely out of order and irritating. PLEASE HELP ME
I have completely wiped the sd card, reparted it, wiped, flashed every newest hero rom i can download, and have had this problem constantly, could this be something in the kernal, or other part of the rom that devs are sharing? I even contacted tmobile to see if there were any network issues, I also made sure every setting I could try both in the default mms/sms app and handcent related to incoming sms, and still no luck.
Since you've already wiped and all that, try going back to RC 29, then wipe, and upgrade from there.
I'd also wait on the Handcent install until you've checked to see the stock sms app is OK. Handcent sent my whole thread, msg by msg, 200 of them, to a friend, all by itself. Of course, it was conversation we already had, so it wasn't a big deal, but Handcent has been buggy for me lately.

unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped

I am in a position where I'm unable to send text messages. When I try to I get the above error message or the message status keeps displaying as 'SENDING' but message never goes. I am able to make voice calls no problem. I have rebooted, force stopped the message app, all to no avail. I have been using the phone with no problems for months now and this happens out of the blue. Would really appreciate someone's help on this.
Regards
Ferg
May be it's caused due to one one of the mods installed, apps, or data corruption. Reflashing the rom should eliminate the problem.

Ooops bit embarrassed but posting this in case someone else makes the same mistake. But it seems the SMS I was responding to comes from a number which does not accept text messages. This was also causing other messages to be held up which explains why legit responses were slow to send. So hopefully problem is solved.
Will probably upgrade my slim bean rom next week hopefully it goes smoothly
