i have clear 4g usb wifi , i was wondering is there any possible way to get the usb working connecting with xperia or touch pro 2 using that wifi on the phones... any ideas any body

your device don't support usbHost so it can't use other usbdevices
best bet is to put the usb in a pc and get internet from the pc on your phone

I had the same thing happen to me a while back and all I done was get 3 Metres of CAT5 Network cable and wrapped about 2 metres of it round my 5 iron and plugged into my machine, worked fine.

your is surely a fine reply..but the problem is that i'd need about 15m of cable -_-
Just start internet connection sharing with your device connected to the WiFi and hooked up to your laptop using USB?
He wants to use his home wifi network not his mobile broadband / data. It's different!
So is there a solution to use your diamond as a wifi dongle?

Connecting nexus one to Internet via USB

Before i unlocked and flashed my Nexus one, it was enough to connect my Nexus one via USB to my Laptop to use laptop internet connection.
The first time i did it, Windows installed a bridge network.
Now that i am using a customer ROM (CYA 5.5.0.3), it does not work anymore.
Any idea if it is removed from the custom ROM, or if i need any kind of menu to make it to work?
Thanks in advance
Cedric
any taker?
i cannot be the only one that is interested in this basic function?

Have you tried the Wireless tether application? It does the exact same thing as USB tether, but wirelessly:

He wants to share the PC's connection with the phone, USB tether and Wifi tether are for sharing the phones connection with the PC.
i have same requirement. because 3g signal in my N1 is very unstable. wifi as is. so i have only connect to internet via notebook. This is the biggest problem of my N1.
did anyone ever figure out if this is possible?

Reverse tethering or.?

Is it possible to reverse tether.?
Example: I am in a place with only Edge or almost no signal. I have my laptop connected to a 50Mbit cable connection.
A router is not a option.
I would like to connect the Nexus to the laptop and use that as a router and Dl through that...to the phone.
Is that possible.?
Can I Dl from marked without a signal on the phone.?
find a program that allows your pc to send out a wifi signal; im not sure if they really exist though.
Im not sure if its possible to bridge a connection via usb either...
Huh? Is standard on wm6(with usb). Try ad-hoc wifi with laptop. Greets

USB 3G Dongle

Heyah
Quick question, and I probably know the answer, but maybe there's someone out there who has an Xperia Z1, a USB cable for connecting USB devices and a 3G Dongle. I will be traveling to a country where there's no way of getting a SIM card with a 3G data. I know it sounds weird, but the telecoms there offer 3G Data Service only through the 3G Modems (dongles). So I won't be able to use internet on the phone in other words. BUT I can buy and use 3G data using the modem. Just wondering if it would work if I connected that dongle to Z1. I don't think so (the phone probably doesn't have drivers for these things to work), but maybe there will be surprise.
So - anyone can check that by any chance?
No you can't it won't fit in micro usb port of z1 and neither no phone has any support to run dongles.
Use 3g dongle in laptop and then connect via wifi hotspot to your z1

I've got the USB converter so I can connect USB Sticks to the Z1, but it's more less what I was expecting. was just hoping that I can leave a laptop at home and don't worry about it on my travel

Screen mirroring thru usb cable

Hello everyone! Does anyone know how to do this?
I've tried connecting it wirelessly thru Cast but this takes up too much demand on my internet connection , I'm wondering if I can do it just thru my USB Cable to PC.
Thanks in Advanced!
Yep it's possible by using scrcpy
Since its only USB2.0(480MBit and no USB C DisplayPort) , you will have nearly double the bandwith on full signal WiFi connection(5GHz AC 866MBit)
So I don't think that USB would be better. It would be better to improve your WiFi if possible.
+1 for scrcpy. I've used it on my Xiaomi Mipad 4 and it works fine, but via USB and via Wifi. To make it work on wifi, you just need to run adb in tcp/ip mode. Google it.
Considering that the K20 Pro has a much better hardware than the Mipad 4, then using scrcpy will definitely work just fine.
