[UTIL] SICC - Sense Icon Cache Clearer - Windows Mobile Themes

I don't know if bugs anyone else, but after changing icons with CSMI or JWMD it annoys me that
I have to mess about deleting Sense 2.5's icon cache for my new icons to show up in the quick links.
So, I was looking for an app that did this automatically - I couldn't find one
So, I've written one that deletes the Sense icon cache and then gives you the option of restarting
your phone:

}
I know it's relatively simple, but you never know, someone else may find it useful...
If you do find this useful and wish to throw me a few pennies then -
Thank you!
(included in the .zip are some Metro style replacement icons for SICC)

Thank you. Works like a charm

Thanks alot for this

hey man it's good app and it's very useful for my.
Thank you

Combine
Have you thought of contacting Nullstring and getting this handy app combined with JWMD Icon Changer?
That would be an awesome feature

I was wondering if you can also do a little proggie to clear other Sense caches like past tweets cache, facebook album images, all things that slow down the phone and should be clearead often.

Hey, not a bad idea. I'll look into it. Thanks.

looks awesome
Looks great goin to test now looks like just wati need to change icons with ease thanks

Hi,
This is a nice program, although I got used to clear the Application Data ProgLauncher folder. I have to admit that I didn't test your program, but the screenshot suggests that the phone restarts after clearing cache.
Maybe you can improve this, by just restarting Sense.
Using MortScript, a Sense restart can be done via:
Code:
regWriteDword HKLM, Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\HTC Sense, Enabled, 0
RedrawToday
regWriteDword HKLM, Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\HTC Sense, Enabled, 1
RedrawToday
Exit
But I'm sure there is a native code version to do that. Good luck!

Thanks for the application... going to give it a try.

tankyou very mutch for this..
The only icon that does not change is Yuotube icon ( preinstalled on HD2) Any Idea? Hi

The only icon that don't change for me are Youtube, Camera, Google Maps?
All the rest of the icons are changed except those...

Great little app, thanks

This same thing was driving me nuts and no matter how i changed the icons they would never change on the program launcher. Fotunately I finally found the solution elsewhere, for me it was because i was using an icon that had the same name as one that was already stored in the Windows folder. Apparently the program launcher will use the one stored in the Windows folder first. So either A. Copy your icon to the windows folder and overwrite the existing one (if you can) or B. Rename the icon all together; i chose option B

I think im going with Option B as well

My problem is other: all icons in the start are okay, but the menu "quick links" no changed the icons of youtube, camera ecc. ( all system icons)

Thank you!

Where do you put the 4 image files that download with the .cab file?

I'm not a Sense user but...
I've been looking for something similar but meant for the Windows Mobile icon cache (the whole system or just a desired folder). No such luck yet...
Any chance you could do it? Is it even possible (I get the feeling that the setup.dll from cab setups is capable of doing this... may be wrong though)? I surely could use a small (no GUI) exe just for this purpose...
I found this thread with some code snipets which are reported to work for Start Menu (at least in old WM versions) but not being a coder...

Thank you very much I will be using this for sure!

Great job, I have one question though. I see that it is not a CAB file when I unzipped it. What do I do with all the files? I'm sorry if that is a stupid question. Thanks, Kevin
Absolutely Incredible. I have been using your Sprint Plugin Images for some time now.
I will definitely be adding some new ones to my collection. Nice work, and thank you for sharing this with the entire community.

Hi Kevin, not stupid question : in fact my attached files are folders which contain all files to replace originals icons. For example for Htc home you have icons named HH_FW_iconhome,HH_FW_launcher etc ... in windows directory in your pda.So unzip one attached file and copy and paste my icons in windows directory to have the same thing like the screenshot. If you have a problem to do this write me.Bye.
Thanks
I see, that's kinda what I thought when I looked into the directory last night. Is there another way to divide the icons and background and such into their own folders and add them into Home Customizer directory that way I don't lose the original setup? If I knew which ones they were I guess I could do it. I will look into that tonight unless you already have it done in another .zip Thanks again, Kevin
PS- Love the Audi by the way, by my sceen name you probably can't guess what I do for a living!!
Hey, could you send me that background pic with the conceptual Audi?

TW,
[EDIT] Sorry should have been using Total Commander... it copied right over.
One quick question, is it possible to change the icons to some sort of "active icon" when switching over the WI-FI and Bluetooth connections to show that they are enabled?
Hi,i must test that ( like the comm manager grey off and blue on if i understand what you want ).

Something along those lines, I'm not very creative... the icons are great, keep up the good work..
Out of curiosity if I wanted to eliminate the music icon and the action associated when I touch the area, is that doable? Would I just delete the icon from the windows folder?

great site and idea
I get an error similar to
the file *nowscreen* can not opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.
the correct chosen skin will come up though, but only after a soft reset.
otherwise the ability to change skins quickly and their assortment is nice.
UPDATE
For some reason the nowscreen link in my registry was "broken". I pointed it to the correct settings again and everything works fine.. without soft resetting.
It makes it very easy to set up new themes by simply editing the .mscr. I've also changed some of the weather graphics around with no issues.
THANKS!!

Where is the script?
On the website it says to extract all files to my storage/spbmobileshellskins then execute installmenus.mscr. I cannot find this script in the download. I changed the options.ini to go to storage card instead of my storage. I downloaded the qvga english version. Anyone get this to work?
can we change the weather files ourselves for now? or will it throw things off?
i usually use "beyond invisible" sets, but i just want to know if it'll work..
seems cool but a bit hard to understand the instruction
anyway great work
Just installed it on Artemis without any problems, works perfect.

I believe you only download the path and not the full version. Please download the full version which in Italian then download the English path and overwrite those files in the full version with the files in the patch. Remove the file SpbMobileShell.txt inside \SpbMobileShellSkins\Scripts. Hope that help
Ok, I'm having tons of trouble installing this. The main problem at the moment seems to be that mortscript.exe in the scripts folder is showing as a FOLDER, not an executable. Thus, I cannot complete the installation.
Anyone else having this problem? I've re-downloaded several times, all with the same result.
Ok, fixed this by downloading mortscript from the official site. Still, someone might want to check this. Great program!
we want a vga version !!!!!!!!!!!!! right now! lol!
Backlight Issue
MikiBest,
I love this program. I am having a backlight issue with it, though. Even though all of my backlight settings are set to never turn the backlight off, every time I end a call, the backlight dims and stays dim until I start another call or program. Am I missing a setting somewhere? Does anyone else have this problem?
Thanks!
I don't think this is a problem of Spb MS, try to check your display configuration into the Windows Settings.
All of my settings are correct; this issue has only occured with this program. Has anyone else experienced this?
Release 1.3
The 1.3 release, will be on line today.... please wait few hours , I've only to edit the web pages....
The new release is more user friendly, doesn't need to set paths and has the weather icons (4 sets) switch ability and layout switch ability ( you can choose from
1) basic;
2) with 2clocks (both analog and digital and same time);
3) FULL with 2clocks+MRU+3contact ) .

[PRJ-REQ] Tatanium theme: Winmo 7

Hi all,
I saw the winmo 7 video other day in youtube. It looks great but it was like a dejavu for me. I have sony erricsson Xperia X1, in that we have a panel called Media experience, it is more or less the same as new winmo interface. (for those who haven't seen it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEQt8tGUuYg )
The only differences are that instead of txt showing you where you are (each time you get in a folder the name of the txt goes on top, that way you know where you are) in Media experience it shows you an icon

notice the icon on the right ( music icon) indicates that you are in music player. Oh yeah and unlike winmo7 it is in the left side. The thing that this is missing is the clock on the background (i photoshoped it) and the weather widget.
HTC UI is great but it also slows down the phone, that's why I prefer titanium. I was wondering if somebody could figure out a way to put a clock and weather widget with it. Some other pics,
That theme concept looks gorgeous. It's a brilliantly huge improvement over the default Titanium. However, it reminds me of the SE media manager. But nevermind that.
The clock on the top right corner looks ugly - it's doesn't blend well within the theme. I suggest that a plain text clock in the background should be implemented to give the theme a minimalistic and elegant look. I've worked up on the image to show you what I mean.
The menus should also have some transparency so the background and the clock are visible.
i think it's better the clock on the background but the icon only the bigger at the center end take away the little one at the left!
d3thstalker your picture looks exactly what I was thinking. I did a quick paintbrush work so it looks awefool. But yeah this is what I was talking about, how though
It would be really awesome if someone could develop this for us. I have no background in developing anything or whatsoever. However, I'd like to extend my help to wherever I can.
EDIT: Perhaps if someone could post links to guides or tutorials on editing the Titanium menu, I can try something.

It doesn't look that difficult, it's worth a try. But you are reminded again that I have no background in these things or whatsoever, so don't get your hopes too high, I might simply dump the project if I can't do it.
I'm handling some workload from my office atm, I'll begin immediately after that. I'll flash my phone to WM6.5.3 today, however, to take a look at how this whole thing works. On second thought, it would be better if someone could pass me the following files from the WINDOWS directory on their phone - bronzeres.dll, CHome_listback.png (hidden file) and Titanium_240x320.cpr

Maybe My email, [email protected]
Ok I just sent it to you. I looked at the tutorial too, when I opened the bronzess.dll in PE explorer I see lots of icons, starting with the number of 2000 to 4000. I can guess how to change the icons, but I dont understand how can I change the system of how icons are being shown. I mean in "Media Experience Panel" when you tap on something it goes to the left side. How do make that happen? Anyway I dont know anything about programming.
Hope somebody comes up with a solution.
I understand the link between the registery, the bronzeres.dll and the way the icon are displayed. However, I still don't understand how to shift the icons to the left side. I think that has something to do with Titanium_240x320.cpr.
I don't think that it's possible to make the icons shift to the left upon clicking them because I have never seen that in a theme. I think that would require the Titanium code to be re-written or something, which is beyond me.
EDIT: This modding of titanium is too hard for me, I don't understand several aspects of it. I am letting go of it here.
Ok I think I figured it out. Its not Titanium that can do this stuff. It is actually this
http://developer.sonyericsson.com/cws/devworld/technology/windows-mobile/xperia-x1?cc=gb&lc=en
which probably can do this. Hmmmm............ I guess I have to do this all by myself

I could move the widgets without problem by tapping and holding until a dotted border appears and then just drag and place them wherever you like (same page or other page).

You don't need the SPB launcher to get that theme. The 3D stuff in the middle is just that certain launcher. What you want is the notification bar theme right? I don't have it myself, as I don't use those themes, but I would suggest using the UOT kitchen and you can cook it yourself. It's pretty easy to figure out and get your own themes up and running.
http://uot.dakra.lt/
I took some time and threw together what I THINK you're looking for... it was actually quite a bit more work than I thought it would be, but I just tested this out on my Nexus S (i9020a) on the latest CM7.1 Nightly (b. 180) and it worked fine.
I'd recommend backing up your Androidian.apk just in case something goes wrong, or even a full nand backup. You'll need to push this apk to /system/app and make sure permissions are set properly.
Here's what I did to set it:
1 - Use Root Explorer (or another file manager with root access) and go to /system/app
2 - Make sure the directory is mounted as RW
3 - Rename Androidian.apk to Androidian.apk.bak
4 - Browse to where you saved the modified APK on your SDCard and Copy/Move the modified apk to /system/app
5 - Set permissions (rw-r--r--)
6 - Reboot phone.
7 - Once phone is back up, go to Theme Manager and select Androidian.apk and apply.
8 - Hope it works for you like it did for me

I THINK I got what you're wanting. I attached two screenshots with what I've managed so far. This will basically remove those bars from anywhere they'd normally show up (Settings menus, Messaging app, pop up menus, etc...). The screenshots show the Settings menu and the Power menu (I clear my messages daily so nothing in Messages to show but a black window).
Unfortunately, I haven't gotten it to work in a theme yet, but I can get it working with a morph, or you can yank the files and merge them manually if you know how, it's not too difficult. I'll keep poking around the theme files and see if I can get this put into the one I uploaded earlier. The morph is NoDividers.zip (attached).
WOW! This $hi+$ AMAZING! I can't THANK YOU enough! Best thing about this morph is that I can use ANY theme without those pesky dividers! Really NEAT man!
I really recommend this to anyone who love David's MinimalBread and Sonny Sekhon's Lucid.
