Animations as on standard 2.1 - Hero, G2 Touch Themes and Apps

Could anyone create a flashable zip-file so I'll get the screen transition animations as on the nexus one for example. I am using Villainrom 5.2. I tried myself, but was unsuccessful.

Have you tried using the Spare Parts app? That has all kinds of transition and other effect options

Only does speeding up or slowing down animations, nothing more.

are you talking about the zoom out style one?search android transitions on Google, you'll have to extract framework-res.apk if I remember right!

I put the right anims in the extracted framework-res.apk, but I don't know how to compile it to apk again, and then I also don't know how to make the whole package a flashable zip. Could anyone help with that?

Can't you just use a program like 7zip to insert the resouces into the apk file and then push it via ADB?

Get the rom.zip put the framework-res file In Its place, resign and flash.I dont think you can just push the file thru adb as it will cause force closes

Thanks for all your help.
I need to extract my roms framework-res.apk and then put in new anims. How do I then make it an .apk again? And how do i sign the zip file?
Thanks.

You of course need android sdk, also java jdk search xda for resign update.zip.sorry I can't link you but am on my phone.ill be home in an hour if you want to upload the files ill do it for you

I've tried looking up how to resign update.zip's and apk's , but it says something about the autosigner won't work on windows 7 ( which is what I have ) . If it's not too much to ask, I would greatly appreciate, if you could make a flashable zip update containing the boot animations from standard 2.1 (fade in and out), that would work for villain 5.2.
Thanks for all your help .

here you go!
I prefer these animations to the slide one.Boot time takes a while 5 mins or so but it will boot! be patient i think its because it has to reconfigure framework.
Flash through custom recovery

thanks soo much man this is great, ill test it tomorrow. maybe you should give this to others and to devs

Great... Thanks! I have opened a similar thread before - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=645210&page=2 but nobody could help...
I tried myself but it couldn't do it. Will be good if someone makes a tutorial or an app! Because as far as I understand this has to be done for every single rom.
EDIT:
Tested and just works great on Villain 5.2! So nice... It's a must...
Now if we just could get the epic rotation animations from Cupcake 1.6...

Nexus S Boot and Shutdown Animations + ringtones ect (UPDATED)

I pulled the boot animation from the Nexus S dump. I also reversed some of it and made a shutdown animation. On top of that I pulled the ringtones/notifications/alarms and UI sounds. Took it all and zipped it up into a flashable zip. Always backup before flashing anything
The only problem I have found is the shutdown animations doesn't overwrite the entire shutdown folder. So if you have more then 46 .pngs in your existing shutdown folder they only the first 46 will be overwritten. Can someone modify the zip to delete the shutdown folder prior to replacing it. That would fix the problem. Everything else works very well...... I'm newer to zips for if someone can fix the problem this will work great.
EDIT: This has only been tested on Mammon88's new ROM base with custom kernel.....
YOU NEED A KERNEL THAT SUPPORTS CUSTOM BOOT ANIMATIONS.....
You can also use my midNIGHT ROM (This is built in already) located at PPCGEEKS http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/sprint-ep...-7-froyo-dk28-nexus-s-goodies-12-16-10-a.html
Had to upload to rapidshare cause the file was to large to upload here.
http://rapidshare.com/files/437742174/Nexus_S_Combo.zip
UPDATE: Here is the Link to the Ringtones Zip
I have also separated everything so those without a Kernel that allows for custom bootanimations aren't left out
Think this will work with both dk28 and di18? Stupid question, I'm sure but I'm a cautious fool =)
will i lose all my other current existing sounds or does this just add to them?

I included the stock sounds as well. I use it with my midNIGHT ROMS based on Mammon88's new releases with custom kernel.. My ROMS are here if interested.

So I got impatient and decided to try it. The shut down one worked but not the startup. stock rooted di18
Does this include the animation when you turn your screen off??

Same issue, Andromeda DI18 rom.
bootanimation is only supported as *.qmg format unless you have a kernel that supports bootanimation.zip (boot animations as a zip file)...
Maybe you should list compatible ROMS, the following should be compatible but they still need to be confirmed:
Heroic Epic
Mammon's Bonsai4All
[ACS] SyndicateROM (Shuriken)
[ACS]Xtreme Kernel (Lucy)
[ROM]VIPERrom [TRiNiTY] DK28

[MOD]custom transition animation

really want to share with you guys
i searched for a while in desirehd forum, and didn't see a thread about custom transition animation
i guess a lot of us are searching for this =]
this is the original thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849963
but i guess a detail instruction is necessary: (succeded just now)
1. copy "framework-res.apk" (/system/framework/framework-res.apk) to your sdcard
2. open it via 7zip on ur PC
3. Drag the anim folder with the animations (which you can download in the original thread) into /res folder in your framework-res.apk. This will replace the files currently in /res/anim.
4. go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9190418
5. download the attachment - Blank Update.zip.zip
6. Extract "Blank Update.zip.zip" then Open up the update.zip with 7zip
7. Drag your modified framework-res.apk to the "framework" folder in 7zip to overwrite the existing blank framework-res file
8. Close update.zip (agree to any messages about updating the file)
9. Copy update.zip to your sdcard
10. Flash the update.zip via ClockworkMod
havefun ^^
Not working for me...
I'm on an htc sense rom and used UOT kitchen to cook update.zip.
By the way, do you know how to get keyboard display/hide animation on stock rom?
It is far easier just to use MetaMorph and the relevant zip files can be found all over the forum. I will post them if anyone wants them.
Regards.
Anyone knows what files are for Opening and Closing an app? I want to replace only those but don´t know what xmls I have to use!
well, That works for me.

Great guide! I've been doing this exact same thing for some weeks now on my Leedroid based DHD

[Q] Port Gingerbread Animations to CyanogenMod 7

Hey Guys,
I have been running CyanogenMod 7 on my Milestone for a while now, and I love it! But I do think it could do with a little bit more of eye candy. So I was wondering, is there anyway to port the gingerbread window animations to CyanogenMod?
I have tried a few Metamorph tricks, but wasn't successful. I also heard about an app called AnimMod which is supposed to do this, but I cant try it out as I am not allowed to buy paid apps in my country. So, I would be glad if anyone posted a link to a working procedure for changing the window animations.
All windows animations are in the framework-res.apk under the res/anim folder.
You can replace those with the GB animation files and apply again. Please note that you need to replace only those that are there in both the framework files.
[email protected]
Thanks for the answer.
Where can I find the gingerbread animation files? I dont have the gingerbread ROM, so would it be possible to download the files from some place.
Also, I am curious to know, why weren't these animations implemented in the CyanogenMod in the first place. I would have thought most people would appreciate the better animations of Gingerbread.
Edit: I just watched a walkthrough, and it seems that the animations in CyanogenMod are the same as those in Gingerbread. Still, it would be nice to know where I can find some new animation files
Wow I forgot that I put this together.
I named it FlyIn_FlipOut because I combined the Flying animation with the Flip Animation.
I actually spent alot of time on it pinpointing specific things which was a pain in the ass.
Anyway, it's attached.
I hope that somebody thinks that it's neat
I have attached the animation xml files for the following animation effects.
Flip
Fold
Flying
Bounce
Blur
FroyoMOD ( animations found in Luca's FroyoMOD )
All you need to do is to copy it into the folder that i mentioned in the previous post and apply it again.
Thanks Guys.
I need some more info on how to do this thing properly:
1. Where is the framework-res.apk located? I found one in the system/ framework folder but it is named as framerwork-res-mot.apk.
2. How do i change the files? and finally how do i install the apk.
In short, it would be great if you could post the steps to modify CyanogenMod to incorporate the new animations.

Download the theme updater flashable template zip file from here.
Download and extract the contents of the zip file provided by Zeppe to your desktop.
Your framework-res.apk is in your /system/framework folder. Using 7zip or winzip, open framework-res.apk and replace the animation files in the /res/anim folder.
Copy the framework-res.apk into the /system/framework folder of the theme updater template zip file. Copy the template zip file into openrecovery/updates folder and apply in AOR after wiping dalvik/cache.

[MOD] Customize Sense 3.0 Lockscreen Background [How To + Requests!!]

Hi everyone!!
I saw that there were threads on customizing the lockscreen rings but there were none on changing the background in our Desire HD forums
So.......
Here's a tutorial on how you can edit the background on the Sense 3.0 Lockscreen!!
First and Foremost, DO A NANDROID BACKUP!!!!! I am not responsible for any mistakes that you make or if anything happens to your phone.
Now we can start the tutorial!!
Download the m10 tools from here
Using Root Explorer (Or any other file explorer) go to system/app and copy the Idlescreen_Weather.apk to your sdcard.
Copy this apk to your computer and open m10editor.exe
Once the m10 program has opened up, click on load and browse to the Idlescreen_Weather.apk
Once it has loaded, go to the m10 files tab and select the decode images box on the bottom.
Double click on Lockscreen_weather_bg.m10 and it will ask you if you wish to decompile it. Click on yes and wait for it to decompile.
Now you will be brought to another tab where you can see Textures. Under this you will see 3 more textures.
Click on any one of the textures and you will see the background image. Right click the image and click on Show in Explorer.
The folder containing the png will open up. Replace that image with your image making sure that the file you are copying has EXACTLY the SAME name.
NOTE: Your png should be exactly 540x960. Also you will have to invert your picture vertically. This can be done with any photo editing program. I use Photoshop for this.
Then once you have replaced all the 3 background with whatever pictures you want, go back to the m10 program and go to the Start tab. Here you can link the path to the Android SDK if you have so that you can zipalign it and push it to your phone. Then tick the Zipalign APK box(Only do so if you have linked the Android SDK to the program). Then click on save.
If you didnt link the Android SDK to the app, you can still manually zipalign it. In order to do so, download the Android SDK and browse to the tools folder.
Open a cmd window here.
Type:-
zipalign -f -v 4 (name and path of your file).apk outfile.apk
Rename the new apk that has been created from outfile.apk to IdleScreen_Weather.apk
Now you can either push this apk to your phone or copy and paste it using Root Explorer ( or any other file explorer) or you can make a flashable zip out of it.
To make a flashable zip, download the blank update.zip that i have attached in this post. Then open it with winrar or winzip etc.. and then copy the apk file into the system/app folder in the update.zip
DO NOT EXTRACT the update.zip
Then you can flash this zip file normally from recovery.
Also make sure that if you are copying the file to the system/app, set the permissions as RW-R--R
Now reboot and enjoy your new lockscreen background!!
This will also work for the Friendstream, Stocks or any other lockscreens. Only the file name will be different.
I will be taking requests, so if you want any particular background just attach the pictures and i will make it for you as soon as possible
This is a modification of McLabia's thread in the Thunderbolt Forums. A huge thanks to him for making such an amazing tutorial!

A big thanks to seo, Krzysiec and all the other devs who helped in porting the sense 3 lockscreen to our devices.
Thanks to Lee for his awesome Leedroid ROM!!
Thanks to Flemmard and DiamondBack2010 for their m10 tools!
If I've missed out anyone who has contributed to this, please tell me and i will add their names.

NOTE: All those trying to use this tutorial with the official Sense 3.0 Build or the ported Sense 3.5 Build, it will not work. The m10 tools are unable to decode the images in the new m10 files. The developers of the m10 tools are aware of this and are still trying to find a solution.
Give them some time.

Hi,
I followed all the instructions and i'm using flashable zip. The background image changed to the one that i uploaded but there is no weather animation at all and keep changing from one background image to another background image.
The only think i didn't do is to set permission as RW-R--R. Any idea how to do it.
Also do i have to rename the blank _update.zip or just leave it alone.
Thanks in Adv......
how we can Customize sense 3.0 lock ring

Hmmmm... That's weird. Which ROM are you using??
Try going to the weather app and updating the weather. That might fix the problem.
If you have used the flashable zip then there is no need to change permissions. And yes you can rename the zip file to whatever you want. Even if you keep it the same it doesn't make a difference.

As said in post #10, the m10 tools are unable to decode the images in the newer m10 files in the newer bases. The devs of the m10 tools are aware of the problem and are working towards a solution.

hmm..i dont think that would be a problem. The 2.3.3 base is fine. No need to upgrade. If im not wrong, the m10 tools do not decompile the images properly in the newer bases. (I dont know about unity v2.3.5)
Did you try updating the weather from the weather app? Have you changed anything else except for the weather png??
Try wiping dalvik cache from recovery.
Otherwise, if those dont work, upload your idlescreen_weather.apk and give me the background you want to put. Ill try and mod it for you

hmmm.. thats very strange. I have never got such a problem so im not sure whats the cause of it. Try clearing Sense data, that might fix it.
Otherwise upload your idlescreen_weather.apk and the wallpaper you want and ill try it for you.
