Desire ROM r21 w/A2SD won't boot with SD card - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Not sure if this is the right place to post this...
I've been on Cyanogen for a while, and Paul's Desire ROM seems stable enough now to use. I downloaded the Apps2SD version and tried booting with the SD card (it's an 8GB, no idea which class but very it's reliable, has a 1536mb ext4 partition for apps, works great with cyanogen 5.0.5.3 a2sd) but it just played the boot animation over and over again. I took the SD card out and it booted fine, but of course you can't just put the SD card in when the phone's on on a Nexus One. So can I fix this without re-formatting and losing all my apps, or should I just get the non-apps2sd version

I got the same error here...
Does anybody know how to fix it?

Same here any help!

Did you guys setup your SD correctly to work with the App2SD version? ext2,3,4 partition?

serious question!

ok guys. i am running a rooted g1 with the 2.6.3 hero build. i am running it on the 1 gb sd card that the phone came with. the speed of the build sucks and lags because of the card. i am going to purchase a 4 gb or 8 gb class 6 card today to improve speed and will also get on a newer hero rom. my question is, when i put all the data that is on my old card to my new card will i still be on root, and will i still be on hero? will it be plug and play basically? will i have to reformat to fat32 or will it already be on there? one last thing..how do you partition the sd card? i will need to do this so i can jump to a newer build of the rom..
anything helps.
thanks,
Nick
The rom and root .... is based on the phone it's self, not the SD card.
You are best to install an Ubuntu live cd .... and use G-Parted to partition your SD card.
Serious Answer!
I'm assuming you are already running apps2sd right now. So when you get your new card you will NOT be able to just swap them out. Best thing to do is format your new card (just like other poster said in ubuntu, look in my sig for tut) in 3 partitions fat32, ext3, and linux-swap. Then load up your hero rom on your sd card and flash away. And yea you will still be rooted.

SD card troubles

i am hoping maybe somebody can help me i searched the Q&A and i can't find an answer i am using a 4gb class 6 sd card i partion the sd card and the Cryogen rom shows the partition unavaliable i thought it was maybe the sdcard so i bought another one and still same issue. the problem started when i was loading the JACXrom from the Cryogen 3.6.8. I noticed as soon as i loaded the rom my apps were missing. so i used paragon to re format the sd card and it still doesnt read the partion. then i reformated the whole card... and still no luck...anybody have any thoughts?

Noob Problem? "SD card blank or has unsupported filesystem"?

Hello,
Everything's been peachy on my G1 for quite some time. I'm rooted running Super D's latest normal ROM. My phone died the other night while I was out. Next morning I booted my phone up and everything was gone. I used app's to SD so there was nothing on my phone, and the error message "SD card blank or has unsupported filesystem". I've searched, yes searched here, google, and elsewhere. I've tried reformatting my SD cards in FAT32 again nothing worked. Every SD card I put in the phone it says the same thing. Factory Data Reset it and everything. My card reader reads every SD I put into my phone.
Is there a fix? What I've been trying to do is flash a different zip onto my phone directly though USB in recovery to see if that's the problem and no success even getting one flashed on.
Thanks for your help!

Edit:
Tested all of my SD cards that weren't working in my G1 on my brothers G1 and everything works perfectly fine? Could it be my ROM?
Anyone? I've tried about everything I could possibly think of. Does anyone know how to flash a zip without an sd card present?
I think your SD Card is corrupted, somehow.
What recovery do you have?
What OS do you have, (it would make things easier if you had linux, or could use a ubuntu live disk).
If you can use ubuntu, with a card reader see if you can recover any files at first.
Then use gparted to re-make the partitions on your sd card.
I've got W7U. In my recovery screen it says Build: RA-dream-v1.5.2. My SD Cards read perfectly fine with a card reader and in another G1. So its def. something with my phone or the ROM.

[Q] Making a backup image of my Nookie Froyo SD card?

Third time is happens to me... My Nookie Froyo SD installation got corrupted somehow. The first two times I was getting a lot of FC's all over the place so I just decided to rebuilt yet another SD card.
This time, it just stopped booting (stuck on the Android logo in the boot process).
So... I am going to build Nookie Froyo on my SD card yet once more, but I would like to be able to do backup of the whole SD card at various (stable) points.
Ideally I would be able to create an image (using a Windows 7 computer) that I could burn back on the SD card using win32diskimager.
Thanks for any pointers.
Looks like Win32DiskImage has a "Read" button... so the solution might have been just under my nose the whole time... In the process of redoing the Nookie SD card, so I'll try in a little while.
Newbie...
....Acronis True Image do the job....perfectly an without any problem.
Yesterday, I transfer my old 8Gb to new 16Gb after 4ext partitioning and aligning ...all in all 20 min. of work

SD Card Boot Issues

Hello all,
I've searched the site, but cannot find anyone that has addressed this issue. I have a 8gb patriot class 10 card that is (was) running the Honeycomb Hybrid RC1 and CM7 with Phiremod 6.3 image posted on here. I'm also running the jammr's modified boot menu so I don't have to remove my card to boot stock.
For the second time now, this card has gone from working fine to not being able to boot either OS. Other than rewriting the card, is there any way to repair my ability to boot? I have a good backup, but would like to know if this issue is fixable so I don't have to rewrite my card every single time this happens.
Thank you in advance for the help.
Maybe I've just answered my own question. If I just reload the contents of a clean copy of my boot partition onto this card, that should fix the problem right?
