I have a bluetooth adapter that has an FM transmitter in it and the car radio will pick it up. Its made/branded by Nexus and called the Blue Ultimate Pro.
How is the sound quality from it?

As good as phone + bluetooth + FM will allow.
Theres slight induced hiss but its listenable.
Plus it allows use as hands free when theres an incoming call.

Solution is posted on page two, Thank you everyone.

When answering phone calls with headphones plugged in sound comes through clearly. I can hear the other person just find. However, they can not hear me.
Is there a way to enable the internal microphone on the device while having headphones connected?
Thank you.
I am looking for the same solution. I hooked up my phone to my car with aux input to listen music in the car. but when I get a call I have to unplug it because the mic on phone is disabled..if anyone knows a fix for it it would be a huge favor. Thanks

Yeah same deal, Bluetooth headphones would apply aswell.
You could get an adapter that has a built in microphone. They're available and not expensive.

But that is just a workaround. The problem is still there. I don't think it is that hard to fix, but I don't know how or where to mess up with it.
Also, it would be interesting if there was an option to use Kaiser's automatic answering after 3 ring with the speakerphone.. but that's a little offtopic I think
subscribing. I would also like to know.

When a headset is plugged in the mini usb port the unit (just like any other phone) it goes into headset profile and switches mic input to the headset.
Are you using the supplied headset (mini usb) or an adapter for 3.5mm jack?
The supplied headset enables the mike (in the small bulb on the cable) for talking and most people lift this to their mouths to talk on any phone.
If anyone is having this problem with a BT headphone (not headset!) then check in BT settings that the headphones are not set for 'Use as BT headset' only for 'Wireless Stereo'.
Hope this helps.
Farsquidge, Thank you for your response.
Using an adapter that outputs 3.5mm connection that connects to normal headphones or AUX connection for stereo.
You said that the phone switches profiles. When a 3.5mm external headphone is connected the phone switches to headset mode and with this we can assume that the phone is looking for external microphone aswell.
Solution: Change the headset profile to use the internal microphone rather than looking for a external microphone.
Goal: Using 3.5mm headphones with phones internal microphone.
Thank you.

Yep, you got it. You need an 'intelligent' app that knows you have a headset connected (usb adapter) but no mike so it can keep the internal mike on!!
Nothing out there that is that clever but the guys doing Kiaser Tweak may be able to give you something that you can manually select the profile to enable the internal mike!!
Why not ask them???
Any ideas?
There must be a solution for this simple problem, dutty???
Does anyone have any ideas?
i think this is what you are looking for:
http://www.tracyandmatt.co.uk/blogs/index.php/2006/08/18/orange_spv_m3100_headphone_adapter_hack
but what WOULD be nice is that it's a male adapter, so you don't need the 3.5mm converter.
I started to put together something like this, just have to get off my butt and perform the splicing! Otherwise, that is how it's done.
Anyone know if there's a web site selling the USB adapter to 3.5mm male adapter and not female?

dude... you rock!! I have been looking for ages something like this for previous PPC's.
I know this is asking the world.. what about shorter length, make retractable w/microphone for phone operation?
anyways, i am placing my order today!
i love XDA Dev.. should have switched over from the other forums! this place doesn't sit still and the questions & answers are always there!
THANK YOU!!!

No problem. I generally dont post much. But I just couldnt let some be wondering all their life.
Theres this but its female:

I thought about getting it but I cant justify $30 for it. For a little more I could get BT ones.
just ordered the product today. will let you know how it works!
I am just glad someone stepped up and finally created a product that is a male adapted direct input to female. This is a rare item!
Thank You!

Thank you gentlemen. Solution: An adapter with microphone and 3.5mm output.
Just recieved the cable today!
its excellent and fits snug! - wraps around the proclip cradle and directly into the female input car radio.
Yes, if they could make this with a mic adapter, that would be cool.
But for now, this beats rigging something from radio shack - splicing a few wires together just because someone is picky with length..

Awesome Im Getting One!!!
I have bluetooth in my SUV (Mopar's uConnect Dodge Nitro 2008), and I am looking into getting a bluetooth device like this (Link or Link) and I was wondering if the hero will connect to both the audio gateway and car kit? I know the iPhone and iPod(3G) will do this so I'm thinking there is hope for the hero.
Does anyone have either of these devices or something similar, any cheap places?
Thanks!!!
I tried this in my 08 G37 since the built in OEM BT does not do A2DP, this was on the original 1.5 ROM using Kensington A2DP adapter with Remote. I could get both to pair and connect but the audio would not work on phone calls once the music was playing. I need to give it a try with the 2.1 software but I am not too optimistic since the 2.1 implementation is buggy as well. I ended up getting a $2 HTC adapter/splitter that connects both audio and charger with one connector. I think you would still have to connect the charger when using BT since it wears the battery down so this is not much different.
This is the adapter I have, the cool thing about this one is that you can stick the remote anywhere in the car.
Kensington LiquidAUX Bluetooth Car Kit with Remote for Music Phones (this is actually a hands free system as well so maybe it was taking over the call audio even with handsfree profile disabled in settings)
I have an Aux jack for my car stereo, so I just run a 3.5mm male-to-male cable for audio. I use my BT for hands-free calling. If I'm using my phone for music, it's plugged in anyway, so one more cable isn't going to hurt anything.

wtf are you talking about? that's a direct line out from the sound card on the phone? blue-tooth would be the lower quality audio. wire>wireless ALWAYS no if ands or buts. copper is a million times better conductor than air.

Actually BT audio is digital and 3.5mm is analog. Digital is better than analog any day of the week. Plus with it being digital it doesn't really matter that it is wireless, as long as you are within proper range the transferred 1s & 0s are identical wired or wireless.

Digital is not always better plus it ends up analog in the end. With A2DP you are adding a second variable encode/decode to the mix, this process in case of already compressed MP3s or streaming audio degrades the original quality a second time. The only reason you would not notice is because of crappy audio equipment or ears
Audio over Bluetooth still does NOT compare to wired.
Read some reviews sometimes. All of the current BT headsets do not come anywhere close to audio transmitted over a wire.

So what was the verdict on 2 BT devices at once? In my situation I'd be looking at having it connected to my car via Ford's Sync system, as well as a BT OBD-II adapter like this:

Haha... I'm too chicken to waste money on it. No idea! I have less than a year left with this phone so I'm just going to wait.
Can you use a headset with a microphone (to make VoIP calls etc)?
Bump
And there is a 3.5mm headset jack, correct?

Unfortunately the headset jack is 3pole meaning there is no mic input. On the plus side "Chip supports bluetooth transmit/recieve and fm radio functions through the same antenna, but is not enabled in software drivers." so maybe we can get bluetooth mics to work.

There is a 3.5 mm jack for listening. I do not know if it will work with a microphone. I tried a few sound recorder programs without success so far.

I tried this also. I plugged in my iPhones earbuds with microphone. no luck. A Bluetooth stack that supports headsets with microphone seems to be what I'm waiting on.

Hello, I would like to have better headphones for my htc hd2 and would like the headphones to have the volume and music controls. So far, I haven't found such headphones yet, and also, will the remote control be functional on the hd2?
Which models would you suggest? I was also thinking of buying the nokia remote control for headphones and to attach whatever headphones you want, but still, will the remote be usable on hd2?
Any suggestion is appreciated.

May be you can customize & combine the idea (volume & remote control).
I've made a thread about fixing a headset that you can use to customize the headset

Oh, nice idea, but I would prefer something to buy and to be ready to listen

Hi, I'm using bluetooth headphones BACKBEAT-903 and work perfect, you have music, volume and call control. For a wired option I have the ZAGGsmartbuds allow play/pause music, call last number and have volume control, the price isn't cheap but if you get a 50% off code is more reachable.
sorry, I cannot put the links because I'm newbie. For Backbeat check in ebay and for smartbuds in zagg.com.

The wire *is* the antenna. But my bt headset has a radio built-in so I don't mind either way.
Fyi, try launching the radio App without a headset plugged in and you'll get your answer.

I would assume you can. I received a sony NFC/bluetooth speaker with my phone as a gift from the Telco, and the fm radio will play through that (tough it's not allways simple to get it working - it can be pretty tempermental.) It seems to take preference of conencted bluetooth devices to output the sound to when you have selected audio out to be the headset.
