How & where to find correct Official RUU

Hi,
I don't know, which is the correct RUU for my phone and where to find it.
The phone detail is,
Bootloader:

About:
Windows Mobile 6 Professional

Device Information:
Rom : 4.24.720.3 WWE
ROM date : 01/17/08

I searched in the following places,
1) Official Herald Updates : http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Herald_Upgrades
Couldn't find the one for 4.24.720.3 WWE . Can I use any of 4.xx.xxx.x wwe ???
2) Index of ftp://[email protected]/Uploads/Herald/Official WM6 roms/

It lists many roms but none of them is 4.24
3) All WM6 / WM6.1 Roms:

4) 2 CDs came along with the phone does not contain anything like that.
5) I couldn't even find a thread which explains about the correct RUU (may be I didn't use proper criteria).
By the question you understand that I am new to flashing. I don't want to brick the phone.

what is the branding on your phone? Is it a tmobile wing, xda terra or whatever?

It is HTC P4350.
Purchased and using in India.
Not bought from any service provider.

Then register on the ECLUB and find the downloads section.

I am a member already. But in worldwide section, not in India section. In worldwide section I could find the updation to WM6 and someother hotfixes. No other RUU.
Its not letting me to open another membership in India section. Is it necessary to login to the respective country site??
Anyway I have sent mail to HTC. Let me see what they have to say.

I went ahead to download the WM6 upgrade file. When I enter the s/n it shows
"Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device."

You need to register your unique phone on the site with the IMEI code. Being member @ HTC isn't enough.

I did register my phone. (It asked the s/n, but not IMIE). Still I could not find the RUU in the download section.

I registered in the HTC worldwide section. And HTC email service has replied me as following
"We would like to inform you that world wide section and India website link is same."
I am not able to find the RUU in the HTC E-club, XDA-developers wiki page and FTP page.
If I am not wrong, I do not have the correct RUU means I can not flash my device . I don't want to waste my device with the stock rom. Can someone please help me.

It's a different device from the wing and hearld, mainly just the keyboard mapping

This is a bad news for me.
I'll wait till I get the original rom.
(I have to be happy with the stock rom itself. I don't want to take much risk.
These PDAs are still costly over here. I can not afford to buy one more.)

This is the HTC SHIP ROM that comes on any device originally from UK.
I have a SIM FREE UNBRANDED with the same rom. My friend has a ORANGE branded with the same rom. I dont know why Orange dont customize their phones but its all kool

This is not same rom as for factory unlocked device. If you check signature of nbh file it shows that CID is designated for ORANG001, while my device is factory unlocked and my CID is HTC__001

does this have voice command, business card scanner?

i have this ROM as well, so what do i have to do next?? im on T mobile btw.

Yeah, but I bet that it cannot be used for restoration WWE devices not coming from Orange.

As for needing Root, you don't. You do need a goldcard though.

I bought a Tattoo here in Thailand, completely unbranded, and it comes with software version 1.67.729.8, which is higher than the links posted here.
So what gives? Different numbering progression for different areas? Or do I have some kind of super secret ROM?

might be a modified donut rom for thailand, but looking to the version doesn't seem to be a major update.

Yeah, playing around with it more, it seems pretty bog standard, but with English (Thailand) and English (Philippines) as locales, and with Chinese and Thai IME pre-installed... nevermind then!

i bought a htc tattoo here in india. its completely unbranded, and has the version number 1.67.720.8
btw, the forums for tattoo seem really empty, is this phone not very popular? i really like it.

i think i may have made a mistake buying this phone...doesnt seem very popular yet..no custom roms no root access...and im already running out of phone memory. A t-mobile version of hero was available on ebay india for 22,000 and i paid 17500 for this. damn! il wait 3 months if still no root, il try selling this off and buying a htc hero.

yeah but it is quite expensive here. I have started saving up for it. Hopefully should own a hero within 1 month. I guess i should get a good re-sale on my tattoo as well as it will still have 11 months of warranty left on it.

Interesting, there's a test signed android ROM there for HTC Click (Tattoo). This may allow us to change the keys in order to run our own custom ROMs if we sign with test keys or stuff like that.
Will add a reference to this thread in my resource thread.

Hi all, got a tattoo this week locked on Orange UK. I've created a goldcard and flashed with RUU_Click_HTC_WWE_1.67.405.6_WWE_release_signed_ NoDriver.exe.
Bought an unlock code from htccode.com and says network unlock successfull but doesnt work with my o2 sim. I've also tried this with RUU_Click_Vodafone_UK.67.161.18_release_signed_NoDriver.exe that doesnt work either and 1.65.405.1 comes up with bootloader version error???
The links for the official roms on here are no longer working, if anyone could re-upload i would appreciate it. If anyone has already tried all these methods then please let me know if im wasting my time!

in this site are all roms for all htc legends, you must do Goldcard and execute RUU.exe in Fastboot usb mode, if you have another version you can "downgrade" version and install one these, and update to your versión later.
The rom you are looking for is probably here on this site, but Vodafone does not derive exclusively roms for a site, it is normal that one of them is the same as looking, for example, I am Spanish and the version that comes to our legends are the same RUU.Vodafone the UK version ... 1.32 ..., which also serves to Germany and noticed that also comes the Dutch language. Get off that version and try installing it, I'm pretty sure it is seeking, in this version then you can upgrade to a superior such as the Vodafone version 2.05.
I guess you know that you can install a lower version which is due to perform the method of "Downgrade" check this forum post about "Downgrade Legend" to install one of these versions if your version is more current than trying install, for example if you have version 2.05 Vodafone ... " have to do what I tell you to install the "RUU 1.32 Vodafone UK" Of course, once you install this version you can upgrade via OTA to "Vodafone 2.05"
As I say, I have personally seen the UK version 1.32 ... is the same for Spain, Ducht, Deutchland, too.

Hi guys I am looking for any compatible rom that is English. I have Diamond unit with Spanish ROM on it. I need English compatible ROM. I tried one from mediafire link above but installer gave me error saying invalid vendor id. I guess I can't just install any it needs to be specific carrier or vendor.

Unfortunately I tried several roms that I thought are English and all of them showed me "INVALID VENDOR" error. is there anyway you can specify ROM I can use with my unit, if you not sure what I have to begin with I'd be more than happy to provide any info needed to identify unit I have.

CID lock (aka vendor lock): put on your device by the manufacturer to prevent installation of a ROM not released by them.
HardSPL: This modified bootloader allows a much safer flashing process to take place since it reduces the chance of permenently bricking your device. It also removes the need to CID Unlock the device since it ALWAYS reports SuperCID when flashing. See the official thread for more info.
