Ok downloaded the Google voice app at market place than it asks me to set up by going to Google.com/voice. I sign in with my account than it says I need invite to get started...? Invite from where or who? Noob...

Anyone can use the app, but to use the service itself (the back-end to the app, if you will), you need a Google Voice account.

Its free but you need an invite. I think I have a few, give me your email address

Yes u can buy on eBay but there's a lot of generous brothers and SIS here that will invite u...like Me one of the guys here invited me.I still don't have invites yet or else I would invited u..

Okay now this is a long shot and senior members and admins im sorry but...

The reason why is cause ive been waiting three weeks and three days almost a month! to get my invite and i still havent recieved it. I actually need it now most off all cause i need to make these international calls while i go out of the country in two weeks. So anyone intrested would be greatly aprreciated
There are no more invites for GV. Please wait until the final version is released
Plus you can't transfer the invites to others... they're linked to the gmail address that the request is sent from.

people actually sell their invites on ebay for only a few dollars....

I requested and received a 2nd invite and wanted to transfer it to my primary email address, but couldn't. So I figured I'd just activate it on the 2nd email address, but it wouldn't let me use the same mobile number I had used on my first GV account.

iirc invites are not tied to the email acct they were sent to. Might be able to get an invite by just calling the Google Talk support number and asking for one. Someone on the Google Voice thread over in apps subforum got one that way.

But I think that Google is the future, they are creating OSs(Chrome), Development languages(Go), VoiceMail(Voice)...
I'm getting more and more afraid of Google.

I'm not sure how this works, but I have not yet received my invite, I see Google updated their Fi page to show the invite status. I was wonder if someone has an unused invite and not thinking to sign up for the service, I would appreciate if someone can donate one for me since I've been waiting for so long.
I don't know if just passing an unused invite link is enough for anyone to sign up to the service with a Google account of your choice. If this is how it works, you can send me a PM to sign up
