I don't know if this is the right place to post this. So mods have at it and move if needed. Would it be possible to have an app or code in a rom that'll animate the screen during use of the autorotate feature? Obviously I have no clue on how to code
This would be nice, the iPhone makes a nice animation when switching between landscape and portrait. I wouldn't necessarily suggest making one the same, but making any would be cool.
Yes, I think it's a good idea.
But PLEASE, do not fork the iPhone
And I really don't see how to do such a thing.. Any dev?

Doesn't that only make animations for sliding windows like keyboards? I think the OP means for rotating from landscape to portrait.
+1 this would be grreat i hate the way it just goes blank and shows up agen, no smoothness about it :/
is even settle for a simple fade like on the old old G1 roms. or that rotate.
I've already started a thread about that here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=662609
I tried the spare parts option, it didn't do anything.
i, too, like this idea. :]
+1 would be great!
another +1, I think this is a really important feature
Droidsans tweak tool on the market used to do this for the g1 I don't know if it works on the nexus

simple question. is there anyway to change the lock screen wallpaper on cyanogen mod.
probably the biggest thing i loved about hero roms was that the lock screen is so much better than the default android. Slide or menu to unlock and you could change the background.
Is there anyway to port this lock screen to cyanogen or at least just be able to change the wallpaper.
I know of the apps lock 2.0 and lockbot. Honestly i still like pressing menu to unlock, but i like being able to change the wallpaper. Lockbot is nice, but the hero one looks terrible and the app is still is incredibly buggy.

i hope that it is, honestly it still alludes me as to why google hasn't added this option in when HTC added it without even thinking about it.

thats for stericksons, i want to change the STOCK lock screen background.
I have the similar situation, but I want to change whole lockscreen application! How do I do this?
I'm pretty sure ClassicalGas has a thread on changing the lockscreen background over in the Desire / Themes section.
any know how to get the zooming transition betweeen apps like theres in rodieguez LWP but just without the LWP ?
try enabling animations in the app Spare Parts (found on market). - I *think* you can do it there. I'm not entirely sure thou.
Spare Parts does nothing about Zooming transition. It's an addition thing, not from Sense.

An app can specify to the framework to use that animation, such as eliot stocker's music player or Rodriguez sense. You can modify the framework to use a certain animation for all applications. A metamorph would be the best way, though it might not work with sense frameworks. See if you can find an animation FOR SENSE FRAMEWORKS in the android themes section. otherwise you'll have to unpack frameworks.
I've spent a while now making new images and editing xmls in a few widgets that I like to use so that they would match the stock sense settings widgets. I've seen a few themed ones floating around the forums over the years, but while they looked like the sense ones, they never lined up with them on the screen, or had the right text, or matched in landscape mode, and it always annoyed me. So now that I'm done I thought I'd share with you all.
There are three attached:
Lock screen - toggles the lock pattern on and off.
Brightness - Toggles (and displays) your current brightness setting, at any percent from minimum to full, including auto.
Flashlight - turns on and off the camera LED to your preset brightness level with one click.
All I did was create the images and edit various xmls. I want to thank (of course) the original devs: Curvefish for making the lock screen and brightness toggle widgets (available on market), and user f3d0r on xda who made the 'beamwidget' for the desire and got me started thinking about doing my own. Also okolowicz for some help figuring out a decompiling issue.
These are very nice, good work!

This is a theme thread, hence the theme and app forum. You'd have to ask the original dev, or in your case find f3d0r's thread over in the desire development forums and request it there.

Not something I'm even remotely interested in. I find the sense ui far better looking than galaxy. Either way, this is not something that should be requested in here junking up my thread. Please take unrelated requests like this to the theme forum.

I agree. Espresso ui looks better than the Touch Wiz ui, but I guess that's a matter of opinion.

Having trouble with the brightness widget. Keeps showing stock curvefish style. Any help?
No idea. Worked fine for me, two other phones I installed it on, and everyone else. I'll ask my usual question, what ROM are you running?
Using a rooted stock form3.70 EVO Rom (froyo). When I look into the apk, there are still curvefish widget images. Could this be the problem?
Noticed that the original images, icon.png and shortcut.png only show up in the drawable_hdpi folder. Perhaps these weren't changed as the mytouch 3g is a lower res phone than the EVO?
That's exactly it (and why I asked). These are for the espresso (hence the thread title) but would work on other 320x480 devices.
You won't be able just to move the images, as there are layout and text edits too, not to mention the smaller images blown up don't look so good. I do have ones made in hi-res for my vision, but again those wouldn't work well as sprint didn't do/get a true update to 2.2 sense. They left some rosie layouts and options the same as 2.1 and also the settings widgets, as 2.2 removes the 'switches' on the right in favor of a bar at the bottom that lights up when activated. Plus they are done to pay widgets so I havent distributed them. Sorry.
I understand. Is there anyway to get a working one? I'd gladly pay for it. Also, your older version, I got it a while back, works fine. It's the same as the new one except doesn't allow the selection of 'auto'. Since sprints 2.2 is messed up, as you say, could I use the one with a small edit or is it a huge undertaking?

Actually I believe the flashlight one is available here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=676328 for hdmi devices and with the switch on the right, which should suit your needs! Hope that works for you.

I would just set it up as the main wallpaper. I saw a lot of people wanting lock screen centered wallpapers so when i was working on it i figured why not make one. I too wish i could have two wallpapers one for lock screen and one for the home screens. I have seen some apps that do this. MultiPicture Live Wallpaper is one that i can remember. Ill install the app and redo the picture sizes so they can work for you guys.
OK so install the app -MultiPicture Live Wallpaper-
Go to the setting and check the lock screen option.
Set the lock screen as http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13348576/Android/Xoom/lock.jpg
Then set the home screen wallpaper as http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13348576/Android/Xoom/Wallpaper.jpg
Change the transition to none and BAM you are done.
This is from memory but should be pretty close. If you have any problems let me know and ill redo it on my xoom.
Any wallpaper you find online could necessarily work. I use wallpapers that are 1920px x 1280px and seem to work just fine.

Yes but most of us are picky and want them to be in the right size so they look the best they can.
I really hate the lockscreen on my O2X. It's laggy and slow.
Is there a simple way to change it to the default froyo/gingerbread one?
I've seen some widget programs that change it, but im afraid this takes up CPU/Mem.

search for lock in a market
Widgetlocker works good for me. It has planty of good themes avaliable so you can make it look exactly as you want it.
Search for the "stock patch pack - AOSP - style lock screen" by Paul in the development forum. You will need ClockWorkMod, though.

People say it uses a LOT of battery... even on the app in the marked. I think that android it self uses enought battery as it is...
Change the LG launcher. It will improve the speed of all animations.
