Hard Reseting Htc Diamond Cdma

can somebody PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO HARD RESET THIS THING!??!? i read themanual .. and along with 40 billion forum posts...
VOLUME DOWN and CENTER BUTTON pressed then pressing the reset pin and still holding the volume down and center button DOES NOT WORK.... regardless whether the phone is OFF or on

I had the same problem when i tried it the first time!
Try to Soft reset the device and go to the RGB info screen (where you can see the Boot loader version ect.) then hold the center button and volume down and reset the device again. Then it should work!
btw make sure to press the buttons long enough, you need to press it for at least 10 seconds until it has loaded everything for the HR

Actually what needs to be, this is after trying for almost half hour - down volume, center key and Power (not reset). But has Xui said you need to hold it until you get the screen advising you are about to Hard Reset the device.
BTW Mods, can someone update the Diamond Wiki with this info, I da** near broke by buttons thinkink I was not pressing hard enough. When in actuality I should have press the power and not the SoftReset.

This is what I did:
My touch screen doesn't work.
So I have to hard reset the thing.
Hold the power button to turn off the phone completely
Then hold vol down, center key, power button, around 5-6 seconds,
then you see the boot screen.

Cannot enter bootloader (reset button does not work ??)

Hello, I've a very strange issue, but it seems that my reset button (that one pressed with stylus) does not work and because of that I cannot enter bootloader.
In the past I've flashed my ROM many times, so for sure It worked for me before.
Any ideas?

Turn the phone off, hold down the VOLUME DOWN BUTTON, press the POWER BUTTON.

Ok, it helps and bootloader loads. What about hard reset?
Last time I did it like that:
"1. press and hold the VOLUME DOWN and
ENTER buttons, then press the RESET button with the stylus tip.
2. Release the RESET button, but continue pressing the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons until you see this message on the screen...."
but now I does not work, probably because of the reset button

Try using the same method, turn off the phone hold down the required buttons and press the power button.

How do I hard reset locked phone?

Hi,
I just purchased screen locked phone (requires password to unlock). I thought hard reset will fix it but it does not do anything.
I hope volume UP and volume DOWN buttons simultaneosuly while phone if off then press Power button and release it while continuing holding VolUP and VolDown but nothing happens - phone stays on locked screen. Does this procedure works on locked phones?

Mmmm...
Make sure you're holding the buttons in firmly while you briefly press the power button. It doesn't matter that the device is password protected, all the data will be cleared and set to default ROM settings.
If the device just switches on, it means that one or both of the volume buttons weren't completely pressed when you hit the power button

I tried like 10 times already. I hold both buttons very tight but after pressing power, it just comes back to unlock screen.

can u get it into bootloader mode?

How do I get into bootloader mode?
I can not connect activesync becouse device is locked.

hold volume button down and press power button. if you can do this just flash a new rom from the sd card.

This does not do anything either. I hold vol down button while phone is off and press briefly power while still holding button and nothing happens. It comes to load screen.

its starts booting windows mobile? or tri color screen?

No. it does not do anything. It acts if I just press Power button. Both volume buttons work fine since I can adjust volume

Hard reset
Be sure first that device (not the screen) is turned off, then:

I figured this out. I was so stupud, I understood phone is off is like screen is Off. It actually meant the whole phone is off instead (had to remove battery for that).

The First thing you need to do: Power-OFF your device.
since it's locked, software interaction may not possible. you need to take the battery out, and put it back in 2-3 seconds later
Then, hold VOLUP and VOLDOWN tightly, and hit the power button to start the hard reset procedure.

[Q] Difference between "reset" and "force shutdown"?

I've read of two ways to get a Z3C to shut down when it is otherwise unresponsive. One is to press the yellow "reset" button inside the nano SIM cover. The other is to press and hold the Power and Vol Up buttons together for ~5 seconds.
Is there any difference in the result between these two ways of forcing the phone to shut down, or do they both achieve exactly the same thing? (In which case, why have both?)

For me - the power + vol button method just turns the phone off immediately. The yellow reset button reboots the phone.

Note 5 volume button broke stuck in safemode.

Hi my volume button down is broken and everytime it boots it's in safemode.
Whenever trying to access recovery it normally boots up when buttons are pressed.
Booting into download mode freezes it, I have to do a hard reboot by pressing all the buttons.
Volume/power button work fine when in use.
I've opened up my phone to disconnect my volume button it stills boots up in safemode.
I've tried 2 new roms still in safemode.

i feel your volume down button was keep pressed maybe,,,,,maybe (it should be b coz of dust or something else).
to be confirm is that your volume button broken or pressed follow the steps below
1. switch on your mobile release the power key and Press again the power key and wait till finish the boot, (if the device get restarted it means we can confirm your volume down button was pressed & hold)
2. press home button & power button check if the device is going to download mode ( if you stuck press power button u will get exit)
how ever try to clean the volume down button inside and pull slightly. after turn on your mobile.
if your damn sure volume button was broken not working at all, then lets think about it
