So what shell/cases are available for the HTC Droid Incredible? I pre-ordered the phone last night from Verizon, but the cases were sold out. I'm looking for a slim-fit shell/case that doesn't add any bulk to the phone, but protects the screen and casing. I will buy two separate accessories if need be. I want to be able to buy this before the phone arrives so any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Uhm... Not being rude but.. The only cases sold out on verizon are the lame pouches and the rubber skins. The "Slim Fit Shell/Case" you want is... well... still there. Do a search on their site for Incredible and its called the Shell Holster Combo.
Where do you recommend getting a case from then? I would want a snap on cover like this one: http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/accessory?action=accessoryDetails&archetypeId=12061
i buy most of my cases at wirelessground.com you can get a 15% off or free shipping code on retailmenot.com

Yeah I bought that and I bought the clear case rkaplins posted. Zagg is taking forever to ship my screen protector though. I'm going to receive my incredible today via fedex and I would have liked to have put the screen protector on before I started abusing the phone, but oh well.
received my shell holster combo and screen protectors yesterday from verizon and my incredible will be here tomorrow. I should just drive to memphis and get it early at the fedex distribution center. but that would be kinda crazy.
Shell/holster screen protector
I got the screen protector and shell holster combo. Works great, not much extra bulk (maybe 1-2mm on the back side)

I picked up the red/black shell from Verizon as a temp solution. Once the extd battery comes out it won't fit so off it goes.
I got this case from HandHeldItems.com It was only $5.99 (normally $15.99) It really fits well and will definitely help if I ever drop this thing.
And as you can see, the camera is well protected when setting the phone on its back. Hope this helps!
You can see it HERE

actually it should, you can use the red/black gradient case without the actual battery back for the incredible snapped on, you can have it removed entirely, which frees up more than enough room to fit the extended battery (this could be why the back was designed in this manner, besides the fact that because of this design we can have snap on cases, that fit snug and make the phone feel more solid
I think I will be ordering this one:

I just tried this with the red/black gradient case, and I'd be worried about gunk getting in there. It's a bit loose (can feel it bounce around), and you also lose one of the metal rings around the stereo jack, which may cause some issues as well (not too sure what this does, but it's attached to the back part of the cover. Maybe I misunderstood, but that's my .02.
those vertical snap 2gether cases in my experience r crap they nvr stay on very well that one kinda looks like that type to me
I have my eyes on the Seidio combo shown here too(sometimes you just can't put it in your pocket):
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/bd2-hlcsr3hddn-rd.htm
I ordered that case from seidio as well as some screen protectors. I must say that, though kind of expensive, they are great quality. I like the feel the case gives to the phone and the case is very thin not adding much bulk at all.

T-mobile has a leather case that'll hold the phone vertically for those of you that hate having the phone in a horizontal position. Just ask for the leather case for the T-mobile Wing.
I've been using it for a few weeks now and have no issues with it.

That's funny - same case I've used for my last 3 phones (Tytn, Trinity, and now Mogul)
i have the same bb case, but i dont want to carry around the added weight of that (nice) magnet used to turn off the bb screen in the case..
I shelled out the cash for the Seido. I think it's pretty decent. The Mogul can be in there with LCD out or in, depending on your preference. But, it needs to face in if you have it charging.
Does anybody here use the extended battery recommended on the sprintpcs website? I need a new holster for it because it's too big. Somebody outside the forum told me I could use the PPC-6700 case?

I just got the Seidio. I am returning it. the clips from the bottom part push the top of the phone away from the bottom, I am afraid this wioll damage the slider clips in the phone, not worth the risk. Stinks cause I really like the rubberized feel.
Edit: Sorry, I was talking about the case that surrounds the phone, not the holster.

http://www.seidioonline.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=797
I was thinkin' about buying one, but may not if it is as you say.
I looked at the Seido cases and I really like them... just like a lot of other really cool cases I've found. BUT... There's a problem with most every cool case I've found so far. All of them seem to be made to fit the Mogul form factor. They have a cut out to fit the round Dpad and the curve of the buttons at the top. I've got the XV6800 and I hate seeing a really cool case, but then I look at the photo closely and even though the 6800 is in the picture, it's made to really fit the Mogul. Are there any cases made specifically for the XV6800's form factor?
I just got this holster in the mail a couple of days ago and can I just say man!!!! It's very nice. Padded, very strong top clip keeps phone in place, and the whole thing is kinda rubberized. Unlike the Treo holsters I've had. Worth the $30 imho.
@teknixxx - I have an XV6800 as well and this case fits VERY well. I believe Sedio offers two versions - one for the Verizon XV6800 and a different one for the Mogul. Just make sure and order the one for your phone. You will be happy with it.
Todd
I have the Verizon XV6800.
Has anyone with the Verizon version have this case?
Does it fit OK??
The cutouts seem to still be shaped towards the Mogul.
I bought a cheapo ($1.00 + shipping) one that is similar to this on ebay, and I had to modify the cutouts around the 4 corner buttons on the front. The case was partly over them so I cut it out with my dremel. Still a crappy fit though. keep having to press it back on in the corners all the time. I am hoping the seideo one fits better because it costs like 30 times more!

Hey i was just wondering if anyone has purchased the Innocase Active model? If so how do you like it, and if not if you have purchased a case from Seidio before whats your opinion on the quality of the product? Bought a case from Verizon and just didnt like how it felt so cheap.
Thanks
Holy crap, I was just about to post pictures anyway and this saves the forum from a new thread. I just got mine in the mail about 15 minutes ago, and here are some pics. I like the feel of the back better than the gradient case from Verizon, but I don't think the front will be everyone's cup of tea. It's basically a gel cover that is covered on the back and corners by a hard casing. I like the look, but my only gripe is that the soft cover completely covers the power and volume buttons and really changes the feel of using any of these buttons. I'll get used to it though.

Yeah, I like the feel of the case, it feels solid without being overly bulky. I've been pretty happy with the purchase!
Picked up a burgundy version of the Active case which arrived today.
VERY easy to install and take back off if you need access to the battery. Nice cushioney feel to it. I'm sure this will give the unit some bounce off the concrete floor that I've been dreading. Slides in and out of the pocket without sticking.
Good deal.
Got burgundy instead of black because I wanted it to have some color. The burgundy is very dark so it is a nice look.
BTW.. I use a Zagg screen protector which I've had on the device when I got it as well.
Added some pic's
very solid case!
Is this case easy to remove?
Actually yes. The hard shell pry's off fairly easy and the under silicon cover is easy to remove.

That sounds pretty good. I've been looking for a case that I could take off basically anytime I feel like it. Would I risk damaging the case (or warping it in some way) if I was taking it off all the time?
Any chance this case would work with a big battery if you left the rear panel off and just put the case on?
Wouldn't make sense to pay $30 for a case with the hard shell and not use it.
Cheaper to just get a silicon case and use that.
The seidio innocase 2 scratched the Hell out of my incredibles bezel.... I'm using the Verizon silicon one until my active case arrives. The innocase 2 seems to look better than the active case and the Verizon one but whatever it scratched my phone.

The Seidio Active is amazing! I had the body glove, but it broke from constant falling/busting open, which is good because the phone's still in great shape. Anyhow I ordered the Active from Amazon earlier this week and it fits the device very well! it's super tight and very slim. I really like how the screen lip is so small that you can still wipe your finger right over it, it's part of the neoprene inner case, great form factor. I am still very impressed with the slimness compared to my former case.
I have picked up the Samsung Focus and need to get a case but I can't find any available. Anyone find a good case that is in stock?

The incipio looks nice. Wonder if the local AT&T store has it yet so if I don't like it I can return it.
the incipio case is the one i have... its ok, if the sides came up over the top edge a little more it would protect the screen but i suppose it would also change the feel of the phone substantially. Additionally the camera button is awkward to use with the case on. That said, it removes easily (but wont fall off) and appears to do an adequate job of protecting the back.
For people with the Incipio cases, does it cover the front at all? I'm looking to get the InvisibleShield too an am worried it may cause issues with how it fits.
The Incipio case is nice, but it does not cover the display at all. From past experience with InvisibleShield, assuming it only covers the glass on the display, the two should work fine together.
Excellent. That's exactly what I wanted to hear.

Im returning mine. The fitment is sub par... you can see the gap by just looking into the opening for the power button.
I'm gonna hold out for a good case. I'm waiting on Speck, Otterbox, or a Case Mate Tough case to provide a good quality and protective case.
focus case
Im having the same problem finding a good focus case. I'm currently waiting on my replacement phone to come in because my first one already got dropped and busted. It fell flat on its face no more that two feet off the side of my couch and the glass screen cracked in half. I was leaning towards the incipio case but im thinking it really needs to protect the screen, and i dont think a screen shield would do anything to help break the impact of a fall.
It just blows that of the few cases that are out there, most are out of stock / not available yet, and even more are just crappy cases.
I just got my Incipio Feather case. I like it, though I am also ordering a screen protector.
Honestly, i would like to know who makes some of these ridiculous decisions. Who decided to go to market with these 3 cases for a new phone, which is one of ATT's flag ships for a brand new OS. One is pretty much just cosmetic and as many have said, fits poorly. The second is practically a joke, which causes nothing but problems with the hardware keys. And the third is actually pretty nice, except for the fact that it's red! and not even a true red, but a "verges on the edge of pink" red. not that there aren't people who like red or whatever shade of red the case happens to be - i'm sure there are; however, if the case had been black or dark gray, it would've sold far more units instead of still being on the shelf in every store (at least where i live, anyways.)
Does anybody know of a decent hard or soft plastic cover for the Defy that would cover a little of the front (my current one only covers the sides) so that if it lies face down on a table, the screen would not touch the table (there is some protusion in my current one so this may in reality not happen very easily but a better solution would be appreciated for sure)?

personally, i use a case because in certain situations i want the phone to be more visible in case i put it down (i use my phone for navigation whilst out geocaching) and for that reason i only have the bright orange case on the phone whilst indulging in outdoor pursuits.
regardless of costs i like the increased reliability - if i drop the phone and it breaks i would be without a phone for x amount of time. the case can prevent that happening.

The case I have is the amzer tpu. It looks just like higgsy's. It has a lip on the front that would prevent the screen from contacting a flat surface, but just barely.
Picked up the same case as Higgsy if I'm not mistaken. Happy with the purchase.. I bought the set that came with a screen protector which was an utter pain to put on. After about half an hour I gave up and settled for that one bubble by the side - at least it wasn't on the screen
My one gripe is that the case covers the volume rocker so it can be tough to press it without digging your nail in.
Not sure why people keep claiming this phone is rugged. More than that the Droids and iPhone maybe, but nowhere near 810F mil spec (see Motorola i1 for that).
As far a a case...I'm a big fan of the Otterbox Commuter case, as it is a soft gel case which then fits into a harder outer shell.
Very sleek and lifts the front up as OP requested.
Only issue I have with it is that it does not have a belt clip. Nite Ize solved that problem fairly well though.
Looks good but 35USD before shipping is excessive for a case, IMHO
Agreed, they are very proud of their product.
One note, for those interested...T-Mobile also sells the Otterbox. They are in T-Mobile boxes, and not advertised as such, but the case itself still has the Otterbox branding on the back of the case.
I say this, as they occasionally go on sale through T-Mobile & T-Mobile stores and because you can often find them on E-Bay for quite a bit less.
Ever tried the case from otterbox.com? Looks nice and stable.

Hey!
I just bought the same case from sprint online, it should come in a few days.
How is sliding the keyboard up, is it smooth?
Thanks.
P.S. What is the background you have on your phone?

The sliding is just about the same for me, coming from the Samsung Moment well it's hard as it is.. but I can't notice any difference really.
the background is just something that I put together last night
Here's a link to it on my Zedge profile

I saw that case at the Sprint store after I had ordered my blue/black one from Sprint.com, and kind of regretting buying the one I did. I like that this has both the hard case and the holster, I put my phone in the leg pocket of my carpenter pants, but when I wear pants that don't have the pocket I have to use my regular pocket which is annoying. So does the hoster work pretty good? Maybe I'll go to the Sprint store and see if they will refund the one I got so I can get this. Plus that way my wife and I won't have the same case, lol.
Yeah the case and holster are pretty good.
I never used a holster but I liked it.
I went to the store looking for just the case and this one came with the holster.
And also the guy told me that I get 1 year warranty, so if it breaks or anything they'll give me a new one.

Nice, I'm definitely going to go and see if they'll let me trade the one I got for that one. I don't really like the idea of both my wife's phone and mine having the same case, too easy to grab the wrong one, lol.
Great pics btw, really shows the product.
I'm honestly satisfied with the product even though I wasn't even looking for it lol I keep my phones always naked w/o a case/shell. I actually went in there for screen protectors.

Just another bit of info, my brother and I both got shifts but he got that case and I did not. He tried mine without the case and said it made his harder/stiffer to slide. So depending on your sensitiveness there may be a difference in sliding.
So I went to the Sprint store and picked this up. It does make the sliding even harder than normal, but no worse than the other case (the blue/black one). Also once it starts being used more the plastic will wear a little and become easier.
thanks for the wallpaper!
Glad you liked it! You're welcome

Just bought the same case. Makes the keyboard slide out really stiffly but I think it's gonna work itself out as I keep opening it. Not sure if I'll use the belt clip much but I like that the case is all black.
Is it worth it to get this if I'm not going to ever holster it to a belt? Is it still a good case? Better than the blue/black one?
Thanks

I think so. The holster is completely optional. If the phone's not in the holster it's almost exactly the same as the blue/black one. The back just isn't as slip resistant as the blue/black one (a plus or minus depending on the user).

That's good to hear. I like the blue/black case. Just wanted an all black one
Dedcided I look like a d-bag with the holster on my belt but it does work really well hooked to my backpack strap. With gloves it's too hard to get it out of my pocket.
will someone post a pic of this with the phone slid open please? I am contemplating this one as I work in construction and need a good hard case. I was actually gonna get a zagg invisible shield easy install, and install this over it, how tight is it, and would that be possible?
I bought my brother this case, and boy does he love it!
I like mine too, but it does make holding the phone more slippery to slide out the keyboard. A couple instances it literally flipped out of my hand and I had to catch it. To help quicken loosening up the plastic, I recommend every so often taking the case on and off to help wear it in.
nice
I am torn on this one. I typically don't like cases/holsters, but this one looks great.
