Hello Xda members,
I'm new in this forum.. so i welcome myself
I've got a question...
Because of the low capacity of the battery that HTC tattoo has
i would like to buy a bigger capacity battery, and i know it will be
thicker.. i don't mind.. i'm just jealous of people that enjoy their mobiles
for more hours, so i found this battery here on the 2600mAh
and i would like to ask you if there will be any problem in the mobile
or to me, cause we don't play with batteries..
Can you tell me if it's ok to buy it, cause i'm a bit scared with all those
unofficially products.
Take a look and tell me please, it's a bit an emergency situation
[Because i'm a new mebmer it doesn't let me use the URL option, so
please search in ebay for 2600mAh Extended Battery+Cover for HTC Google G4 Tattoo]
Thanks in advance
P.S. Sorry for my english, but i'm a Greek and my english isn't so good..
Well i got a chinese cheap battery for my diamond 2 and i`ve been using it

I was looking for batteries to, but I dont want to buy in e-bay, just cos I dont know how it will actully feel in my hand, and thats inportant...
i agree with you, but i can't find it in any store in whole greece.. so i bought it already
I hope u will post ur opinion when u recive it. Opinion about how it actully works, how long it lasts with new battery, and how more thicker it is... Mybe some photos? Would be perfect!
I'm sure about the link it's an external battery, you charge it and then carry it with you and when you need juice you plug it in and charges the battery...

No m8 i'm still waiting for it :/
i got my battery 3 days ago... i plugged it in to charge for 4 hours and it's the 3d day now with full usage (wifi, lots of calls/sms, market browsing, surfing etc) and the battery is still full!! xD it's a bit thicker, and you will not notice that with your eyes, but with your touch.. it's a bit different, but i LOVE it's DURATION!! ANDROID POWA!! xD i ll upload some photos the morning
How u know its still "full" ? Mybe just the status checker doesnt work correctly anymore?
Mybe it shows 100% untill ur battery reaches 1100? And only then starts to fall as fast as it did with normal battery?
Good to hear that, u cant notice the thickness, but yea, I rly would like to see some pics from different angle...
hows back cover? Same as original one?

no, you don't feel the "sticky" back cover of HTC, it's just plastic. As it concerns the battery, no, it's still full with another meter now it's 6/7 full after 3 days.. xD
what meter do u use?
I want pics
btw, u bought from ebay right?
From "easyworldwidetrading" seller? For 9.99+5.99 $ ? (total ~16$) ?
I ordered the battery from this link:

[From my webcam]
I recommend that 4 s00re, if you don't mind the "extra" thickness
well u actully can "see" it kinda thicker, but I'll see how it fits in hand...
Did order from other shop - this one u showd doesnt look rly safe, only 500 points, and under 99% positive feedbacks (not that good)
I took from guy with 121k points and 99% positive feedback... Probably takes a month to get to me, so Il post my review after I got it
P.S. what "meter" did u use ?
Thx for the pictures
OMG it's really ugly not worth it...

Just got my hands on recently arrived iSmartSim 2008, the whole process took less than 5 minutes, just wanted to confirm it worked fine:
1) A Diamond locked to Orange and iSmartSim

2) Had to cut my O2 sim card (does not affect anything, just make sure you wrote down your sim card number somewhere), and slid it in over isim, tested first on an expired O2sim card (can also be seen on the picture)
Switched on, and voila, using O2 now !
Quite simple reusable solution costing 7 USD and does not affect your warranty too ..

Seems to work on all phones but I've read that this thing uses more battery so it could be a serious issue given the crappy battery the Diamond has.

It does make sense - just like to hear from people with experience. How much does it affect battery life?
Excellent post hertc - I've just sent for one of these because Orange signal is dreadful at my house, but O2 is very strong. It also means I won't have to mess about porting numbers etc. Looking forward to receiving my little gizmo!

I am fully charging it at the moment, will monitor battery-level indicator once finished ..
Just speaking from common sense here, I can't really see why it would affect battery life significantly, on level with BT, GSM, GPS or screen for example, it is just a small chip, not doing any energy consuming transmissions .. and, presumably, is only used once when you access sim card (start up, sms, calls) .. but I am not a technical guy here .. will see

Updated the pictures ..
Nail scissors .. )) It's quite easy to cut, there is enough space to practise as the native chip only takes half of the space.
Fitting it in was a slight problem, I found it was a bit easier to insert the iSim half way through first, and then apply your operator sim over, slowly moving both with a finger to the end of the slot.
can't see pictures..me new to this whole forum.. do i have to look in the same post or somewhere else...
this definitely works, and doesnt seem to have affected the battery performance. definitely worth the $4.
It works! Hallelujah!
Just got my i-smart from e-bay supplier - cut a notch out of my O2 sim, slapped the card and i-smart in and voila! One unlocked phone! Absolutely brilliant. Top piece of kit. Get one now!
Plus my Orange sim works in my XDA Orbit, so I've got two phones now...

OK, used it for 2 days now, still 70% .. not extensive usage though, - a couple of calls / texts, weather data download, alarm, calendar. I think it was the same before applying the isim ...
Sounds good - no massive battery drain while that little chip sends all your data back to their control room.....
Or am I being slightly paranoid here?
this is quite a big battery drain, wouldn't really recommend it.

I did not notice any change in battery life (used for 1.5 weeks without and over a week with issim now), charging every 2-3 days at the moment ..
Ok this is my first review ever so don't point and laugh. lol
I bought this on eBay about the beginning of September ago and I got it on the 23rd, its from hong kong so I don't blame them for taking so long, when I opened it and put the battery on it fit like a charm.

It's easy.....if you barely use the phone. For example, right now I still have 68% battery left after 12 hours and 3 minutes. That being said, my screen on time has only been 1 hour and 26 minutes and has only used 37% percent of the battery, with Handcent second at 16%. Continuing this course I could easily make it to a day and a half, maybe 2 days. But, alas, today was actually pretty unusual for me and I typically have 3-4 hours of screen on time and am usually at between 20 and 30 percent by this time of day.
i got the new extended battery as well and i love it cause i can use it heavy all day and not worry about it...having wifi running all the time and data when not connected oh n heavy game user and the battery is sweet...no more having to worry about conserving battery when i am out and about

i get same results with the regular battery... what is your use for this phone? are you sure it is working properly? are you stock?
i usually get:
battery at 50% with 12hrs of use and 1h40m of display on.
but just in case, i bought a regular generic battery on ebay for 5usd i guess, and i keep it in my car, i think i needed it two times in the last 4 months! =oP
i can live with half day charging rather than those bulky biggy battery.. No offense buddy

I've got a couple of those. They work surprisingly well.
My 160GB Ipod Classic has finally died T_T The battery's not holding a charge at all, I'm thinking of getting it repaired but I'm worried something else'll fail shortly as it's had heavy use. I've been researching alternatives but all the threads etc I could find are a few years old, so what's the situation these days, are there any decent/inexpensive MP3 players with at least 150GB of storage out there? Any sort of mini hard drives with screens or anything? Or is the ipod classic still my best bet? Cheers

Obvious troll is obvious.
If you don't care about bulk archos has some massive pmps. I have a 4.8 in 250 gb but I can't use it for anything other than in my car just because its so large.
Cheers, good shout - what do you think of the Archos 48?
It's alright. Nothing special (and the resistive screen sucks after being spoiled by capacitive screens), charging (through a proprietary cable) is slow and the GUI sucks, but you can't beat the price for the capacity (I got my 250gb for like 170 a year ago).
I should add that the battery is fairly long lasting from a full charge and that in order to play movies and certain file formats (you'll be fine with mp3s) you have to buy format packs (which I find to be an obnoxious and money hungry practice that Archos should be ashamed of).

Yeah 500GB for £100, seriously tempted - £26 (independent site) to repair my 160GB iPod but like I said, something else could just fail as it has received heavy use. Had a look and it doesn't look like there are any ROMs for the 48, would be nice to pump it at least up to froyo... from the dimensions the 48 doesn't look too bulky, still pocketable?
Pocketable-maybe, but the weight is a pretty big factor. Not to mention that it's almost an inch thick (doesn't sound that bad until you have it right in front of you. I can post pictures for comparison to my Xoom or Nexus S if you're familiar with either.

Yea people who just do regular music listening a bit of browsing , calls dont need this as the stock battery easily gets throug the day , but may be of use for travellers and heavy gamers,,

A lot of these cases have an extra silo. But it would probably defeat the purpose of the sound and spen detection setting.
I think I'm going to have this phone for awhile so I can wait another couple of weeks for one that has the s-pen slot. I find myself using it at the most random of times.
Not only dose it seen to cover the S pen but also the back speaker.
I bought a second battery from Samsung website with the 50% off code someone posted here. I haven't needed it yet, but on the rear occasion I do it will be a simple solution. For now I just switch them out every few days.
All ,
yes its a bit annoying for removing the Spen but not very difficult for people who rarely use ( i use all the time though ) it covers up the space , however speaker is not compromisd as there is a opening for the speaker , but yes S pen is a bit annoying to remove as you will need to slide the fone out .. this s not a hard case so not a tough job to open the phone up from the case...
Might get one of these if they make a little higher quality product with little lower price. Hate the LED lights, on/off switch, no hole for stylus. Most of these need to be charged separately and are usually less than 1000mah.

yea the LEDs are bit too bright , but I found the battery pretty decent not excellent though they charged my phone fom 49% to 100 % in about 1 hour not sure if it can full 3000 MAH havent tested that , the stylus missing out is defnitely a disadvantage...
I was just about the post this, found it on ebay for 28. But no spen and yes the speaker which is covered up was the deal breaker for me. Guess I'll just wait for Samsung's wireless charging.

I have (well had, untill I dropped and shattered the screen) the T-Mobile version of the Note 2, and last week, was on holidays at Disney etc.. the day started at about 8 am, and then, I'd use it non stop, navigation, web browsing, phone calls... really put the phone to use and by the end of the day, still had citca 35% left - this is the first Android smartphone I've had where I'm comfortable with the battery life. the stock battery is more than man enuff for the phones features.

That thing is huge!! It would be nice to have the extra battery life but wow.....it's monstrous.
At $90, they are late to the party for Droid 4. I can't imagine shelling out that kind of money on an extended battery when the phone is already showing it's age so clearly. Hopefully there will be a Droid 5 that is a true flagship level device.

I know I saw somewhere someone saying they were having problems with the extended batter not reading correctly. Sounds like this Mugen app might help solve that issues.

I have tried the mugen app, only had it for about 24 hours. Seem's to work bettter than Battery Calibrator. WIll update to let others know. The battery life is great with extended battery.

Yeah, at this point the D4 is only around until I can find something better (which by the looks of things, might be awhile.)
Had this come out year one, I would have bought it in a heartbeat.
Just bought one. Given that I was ready to try and hunt for some alternative similar sized batteries and hack up a case for it... I'm willing to deal with some pre-made bulk.
Hi
I also bought a Mugen battery but I have a problem with the battery indicator. I am using CM 11 from here and the battery indicator (on the top right) is going down very fast - at the same speed as the old battery. So I installed the app "battery monitor widget" and there it shows 1740mAh and not the full 3800mAh. I already used the Mugen calibration app but nothing changes.
Best wishes

Hello,
I am also thinking of purchasing Mugen Extended 3800 mAH battery.
How has your experience been ?
How many hours does the Droid4 last and
How many hours does it take to charge it from 0 to 100% ?
Thanx

Alternate, Cheaper Solution
I didn't see this post about that massive battery before today. Instead, I bought a 2850mah (or so they say) battery that I will link you guys to below. I just installed it, so I'll let it die and then charge it up to 100% and re-calibrate.

Wow Price is right, only $12 free shipping, as long as it doesn't blowup on you.

i don't believe running battery down till phone shuts off, helps that much in calibrating, and I know it's not good for the battery.
