OS Monitor setting? - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm having a heck of a time finding info on how to use the settings menu on OS Monitor. Specifically, I'm looking for how to monitor the battery life and what is using it.
Anyone? Thanks in advance.

Best application so far

This is the most useful application I tested so far. Try it. It's called Tasker and it is an advanced scheduler by which you can schedule virtually anything.
I used it to schedule phone, gps, wifi, etc. to switch off at night and switch on again in the morning. Also, you can use GPS locations to manage things like volume, services on/off, etc. The best thing with this app is that it is event driven so you can configure actions based on several conditions. However, it is hard to understand how to configure but once you get the idea, it's straight forward.
Try it and share your opinions. 7 days trial

Sounds very good. I was looking for something that can turn on/off my wifi depending on location. And this can do a lot more. I'm downloading to try.

If you're going to use tasker to do things based on location, I recommend using cell towers rather than gps, it should save you a bit of battery power.
Florida.
Anyone knows of similar app like Tasker but it's free? Am looking for one that can change profile based on calendar event (e.g. meeting/appointment)

You could use Y5 Battery Saver found in the market place
It turns your wifi on/off if you are in the vicinty of any wifi networks that you have saved on your phone
I find it very useful

For the developers...Is this possible?

Is it possible to have a pop up menu made available like it is for the Wi-Fi settings under the Mobile Network Settings...an advance menu..so a person could have the Data Network become inactive when the screen goes off ?
The reason I ask is this would allow those who choose to have their phones remain on all the time only have this active when the screen was on if they wanted set up this way. I believe having this option be made available would increase battery life...since so much battery draw can be used for the cell standby and it's constant searching for the best tower to give the best reception for data..
Thanks You
Mac
Well you could always use superpower beta from the market.

So..this allows this option... ? That's cool if it does..but..I was wondering if this feature could be built in.
Mac
Juice defender does this. Although it does run in the background ongoing.

Most extra apps do...and it's for this reason I am asking if this can be included in any of the roms out there..It would make more sense to me to have the option to be able to schedule this within the system..than relying on a application to control it.I know Gingerbread is going to be able to manage things better..but even with it's new task managing improvement..this would be a nice feature to have...
Mac
It would be nice but juice defender has many options to schedule data and does allow programs to sync. It may be an ongoing background process but it doesn't keep the cpu from sleeping too much. It works pretty well.

Tasker to save battery. Can anyone guide?

First of all im sorry if similar question already been asked before. I already used the search function, also google, but i cant find any guide thats easy to understand. Or maybe confusing just for me.
The thing is,ive been thinking is it possible to set in tasker,to only switch on data network every 15minutes? N then set 'when data on,refresh tweetcaster, friendcaster etc2'..Coz for me,data network hog batts,A LOT..but iff i set it off,i wont get any notifications? I guess maybe this will maximize the battery usage while still optimizing smartphones capabilities? Can anyone guide me how please? Thanks in advance.. Sorry for my english.

Btw I Read everything here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14995837&postcount=88
And I tried the simple task(the one with brightness set to highest when plugged in) n it didnt work at all? Is it bcoz tasker isnt compatible with my rom? Btw im using CM7 nightlies. =(
you can do this with juice defender me thinks
hey, i am also looking for this... did you ever find a solution? i have juicedefender, but i want to be able to disable it remotely when I need to, and i figure it would be easier to do everything through Tasker, than 2 apps.
anyways, did you ever find a simple guide to the battery saver thing? because, my question is, if I enable data for a 60 second window, how do i know that my Gmail, facebook, etc, is going to sync at that specific 60 second window?

Juice defender does that you want.
You can configure the "time window" that the applications syncronized (for how long) and also has an option to wait for full sync even if the time limit has expired.
hey, thanks for the suggestion, but i already use juice defender.
the reason why i want to try and use tasker is this...
I want to do something like this...
i want to use juice defender to save on battery.
however, since juice defender turns off data, if i lose my phone, i
can't track it with Lookout.
I tried to set up an SMS trigger that automatically KILLed Juice
Defender.
It seems to not work. i can see the notification that it killed juice
defender, but on my notifications, juice defender is still working.
I want to set it up so that the SMS trigger KILLs Juice Defender, then
data will be re-enabled, then I can use mylookout to find my phone.
therefore, maybe since it can't seem to kill JD, i thought that using tasker might be easier...
THanks!

TIME_TICK wakelock problem

Hi all,
I have one strange and annoying battery drain - or at least it triggers huge amount of raw alarms. I'm talking about this: "Intent: android.intent.action.TIME_TICK"
Current status after 10h is in the attachment. Any ideas?

1. do you happen to use "Animated Analog Clock" widget - afair it does generate time_ticks, but should not affect battery drain
2. wouldn't BetterBatteryStats thread be a better place to ask for help?
Thank you for replaying.
So, i don't have this app. I have "ClockQ", but it was/is working like a charm. I did check for auto update settings, but non are present.
I've also examine a Wireshark log and the best i could get was some prompts to "CDNetwork" company, as the prompts were matching the number of alarms.
About you second suggestion - i did write, but never got an answer at all.

Read this thread, especially post #6.

*#*#4636#*#* usage statistics not showing up.

When i type *#*#4636#*#* usage statistics and battery dont show up. Where can i find this info?
It's not the code for getting the usage info. If you want to do that, just go to the settings of the phone, and then battery and performance, there you will find the information that you are looking for.
Cheers.

These are different usage info, the code is used to get to Phone Information 1 & 2 and WLAN info.
OP, it's working for me on Google messages on miui. There's also an app on playstore "MIUI Hidden settings" you should be able to get to it from there.

Yup, they are. But I think that he's just asking for the way to know if he usage statistics for battery and such info.
