Where did Pershoot's OC/UV kernel thread go? - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Perhaps I am blind, but I just spent the last 5 minutes searching for Pershoot's UV/OC kernel thread and it is no were to be found. Anyone know what happened to it?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633238
That one? It was on the second page. I don't know if pershoot has a thread of his own, but I think he frequently posts his updates in that one.

Aaaand this thread is getting closed soon.
Btw, do you expect people to spoonfeed you only because you're too lazy to try kernels for yourself?
Go to the dev section, there are a couple of CM7 kernels there.

I did not tell anyone to close this thread. But as you should know, best ROM/best kernel threads aren't allowed on XDA, so it'll get closed sooner or later...
Everyone is going to get different results on different kernels, just as everyone has different experiences with basebands (it might work well for me, but maybe it won't work that well for you, you know what I mean?). Try a couple of them, use them for a day or two, and stick with the one that works the best for you..
Please check each kernel's thread for info as they're full with questions such as yours (and answers, too). Spend some time reading, there's no need for this thread indeed.

Because I haven't seen it. This is a new kernel source, which require better publishing so our devs can work through it. I haven't copied it from your post. I got it on our facebook page for mi-410. Thank you.

I am not saying that you copied from my post... even I took it from facebook page and as this kernel is only for RC 3 I posted in that thread... if check thread carefully you will find on last between page only....no need to post separately .... anyway my point is in regards to forum space which is wasting because of repeated post and thread....and its two month old ... no point in posting separate after such a long time ...
Besides the pushing of that old topic, I've tried a number of the newer/recent firmwares and they all have one or the other bug. Something is not working, crashes, or screws up. Nasty stuff sometimes. I am back to the 2.3 series, and perhaps I may refresh my now very old MacLite with a Sharp version. Depends a bit on my time, but I think it's still the better firmware for our phone. That is, one where everything works!

Yeah it's true that we are still struggling to get a good, nicely working ICS+ ROM. But without trying new ones, it's impossible to fully utilize our device capabilities.
Hope for the best bro.
And yeah Sharp is a great ROM.

what is the advantage of custom kernels?

can someone explain me this? would also they affect in something to custom roms?
You could have just searched your question on Google. There are many posts already about this.
More tuneable and optimisations

Advantage? Well simply put, there is absolutely no way to answer that in a "general" sense. Read the write-up on the various kernels and sysimages you are interested in knowing about -- the author of those will most likely explain what makes it "special". If they don't, then you can safely assume that whoever set that one up has no plan.

Hehe franco kernel threads don't list features
advantage? well, itll differ with every kernel, but most add more cpu control. some set up your cpu completely different to stock, so battery could be better, could gain some performance as well(or the other way around). also, there are certain features that get added into kernels, not roms, that can be taken advantage of. the list can go on and on, since all custom kernels differ. but its the cpu control, and certain features mainly.

Each rom is equipped with a kernel on it, if you use a custom kernel you'll have to reflash it after flashing a rom.
If you want to go back to stock kernel then flash stock kernel.

Anybody going to build a 6.0 AOSP ROM?

So the title says it all. Will anybody building a 6.0 stock AOSP ROM for the Sprint S4? It's safe to say a 6.0 GPE update will not be coming.
I've looked into building one but I don't have enough exp to do so. Should be doable with CM device and vendor files?
Would be great if somebody starts this on github or something
