Folks lets try to get a listing of software that you may belive that causes problems with Molski's Rom. I think this will be benifical for newer users to be able to go to one place and see all of the software that we have experienced problems with so they do not have to.
If at all possible for every program that we list as a problem I would like to have an alternative.
From my experience.....
O2 sms plus (for mass sms messages) causes a problem with the native SMS software. It has been known to prevent you from reciving or send sms messages. I am currently hunting for another program but I have not had any luck.

I think we all know SPB time does not work...and man if you install it just go ahead and do a hard reset.
SPB time is one of my FAVORITES but if you want to keep the rom do not install it.
After installing my 8125 got so hung up I couldn't even do a hard reset...I had to reflash from bootloader.
pocketbreeze does the same thing

This is very strange I have been using this rom since it came out with out the autofill or the calender giving me any type of problem. What other software are you running?

Not running any other software, only what came default with Molski's ROM.
I hate when I need to Add recipient manually every time I start writing SMS's.
Second big issue for me is, that I cant get QWERTZ-keyboard to work with this ROM. I'm finnish, so I need to use scandinavian letters alot almost in every SMS.
My plans for year 2007 are open, so calendar aint so big deal - but i'm still using latest Active Sync and still cant get it to syncronize past meetings.
I encountered problems with clock and date resetting after every time while takeing out battery. Also device stops responding randomly after some time of working in standby mode and nothing except taking battery out is making it to soft reset. But the second problem might be caused by programs I'm using... Do you have similar problems?

Try going through the whole cid unlocking again and use the tmobile 2.26 rom then install Molski's rom again. Let me know what happens.

I have had this happen with the time and date going back to June 7th once I took the battery. I don't take the battery normaly so I just reset the time. Why is this a problem?
The system lockup is most likely software related, but what other software are you running. If possible I would try to reflash the Rom and install spb backup and backup after you install all the software that comes with the Rom that you use. Then install each additional software and due what you would normaly due when it locks up. If it works then backup again and so on and so on till you narrow the problem down.
This is what I do and it works for me but if there is an easier way that someone knows of please let us know.
This is the whole reason that I started this thread so we can learn from each others problems.
Hey guys I am new to the forum and I just did my first flash to my wizzard and I used this new 3.2 rom. I must say its amazing but I am having problems it keeps turning on by its self when I put it in suspend and the battery dies very fast and the phone book wont let me look up any names that start with V. Can you guys help me out with some advice?
For "Sun'n'moon" application, you can replace by "WeatherPanel" (www.marsware.net) very powerfull.
On my Wizard, 2 problems:
- Prssreader is not compatible with AKU3.2, when installed the phone boot crash.
Today, I don't have found better or equal rss reader software: --> please help me if you know better!!!!
- I don't like clock or date on my task bar, I want to remove it with "RegistryWizard" but when I choose "None" and restart, the sound and network icons are hidden by something: --> Can you help me too????
Molski's Rom is very fast when booting and is not too tunned! (good!!!). Thanks Molski for your work!!!
great rom so far only one minor prob.
1) no pRssReader. the today plugin causes a reboot. no big deal. must be badly written sw.

Gents 1st off lets stay on the topic.
Dude you must learn to use the search this issue has been addressed by others. Go the Main Molski 3.0.0.0 thread and look in there. If you still cant find it email me and I will help you the best I can.

I haven't used the prssreader as of yet but this also came up with Jose's AKU3.2 rom. We have to see what the gods sugest on that one.
Can you take a screen shot so I can see what your talking about?
Its the weekend so I will be working in my nite life bussiness so give me a few days. to respond. Or see if someone else can help as well.

I've attached a copy of Qmail. It handles RSS feeds nicely. It will also handle email. Basically, its a Japanese version of Outlook Express. Good thing is that the program is written in English. But, there is NO documentation in English. You'll have to figure out how to make it work on your own.
There is not setup. Just unzip it and copy it to your storage card. Then just run the "q3u.exe" program.
Can not use slide-out keyboard for cyrillic characters

The rom is great! Molski, Faria - thank you very much.
The biggest problem for me is that I can not type Cyrillic characters using the slide-out keyboard. The standard way to set it up (by setting \\HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd\Locale) - does not work with this ROM.
Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

Do you get back you backup by SPB Backup? The backuping programs sometimes damage devices GSM. Tray Hard reset and than it will be IMHO OK

Howdy. I just want to make sure I read this correctly. So, you have T-Mobile (from your profile) and Molski's ROM 3.0.0.0 and you have not lost -any- calls/VM Notifications at all? I mean, it took me a few days to realize I was missing calls (when people started complaining at me thinking I was screening).
I am in Cingular, and if you are not missing calls (please, try to make sure as accurately as you can...) do report back, as this would be a huge pointer and there are quite a few of us stuck with this awesome ROM.
[btw: I LOVE this ROM and have no plans to go back... we all just need to figure this one out]

Cant say if it was directly related to the ROM, but Voice Command 1.5 would work for all but contacts and phone. If Contacts or Phone were enabled, VC 1.5 would fail to start.
Upgrade to VC 1.6 solved problem, and 1.6 is waaay better anyway.

This is a compatability issue due to the fact that the Contacts Database was changed in AKU 3.x

Firstly I would like to kiss ass to the forum for all the help it has provided me over the years. I have had many a problem solved here due to the software provided by the idiots at MS who despite telling us the world is becoming increasingly mobile are failing to deliver when it comes to their own OS. Anyways....
I have a problem I cannot solve because it may be unique - I want the SMS and Email sound notifications!!! Yes I know, the shame of it.
I was forced to hard reset my MDA Vario III a couple of weeks ago and since then, the above notifications keep switching themselves off. They work for a bit, but then they uncheck themselves in the "play sound" box in the "start>settings>sounds & notifications>notifications" area.
I have checked the registry, but not being particularly familiar with the registry settings do not want to fiddle to much.
I'm thinking that perhaps there is some registry entry missing.
Anyway, the knowledge of your collective minds would be much appreciated!!
sounds like the opera beta problem. Have you installed it recently and does it coincide with your problem?

Uninstalling it will solve the problem, but they have fixed it in the latest beta, so if you still want Opera then I would suggest re-downloading the latest cab from Opera's site (29.07.2008 update).
Not sure about that I never got around to it because I flashed a new rom. give it a try. you could also try downloading it again as I think I remember reading that the latest version of the beta has this fixed.

Does anyone else use SPB Pocket Plus (latest version V4.0.2 - Dec 07) and WM6.1 and suffer the annoying problem where the today plugin icons don't pickup correctly after a reset?
It's easily fixed by clicking to refresh all tabs, but surely it shouldn't do it???
I'm also suffering a problem whereby not all text messages are received by my phone. (I posted in the General section with no joy - am hoping that you software guys may know if something conflicts?!) It's very strange as the phone lights up as if a text is coming through, then nothing happens. I've tried a Hard Reset and restore to no avail.
Wierd thing is, my mate has a Kaiser on Vodafone UK (V1615) running WM6.0 and he has the same problem - I'm on O2-UK so it's not a carrier problem.
I set his Kaiser up for him with much the same software as mine, including SPB PocketPlus V4.0.2...
I also (I know, I'm sorry!) have a problem with the today screen if I change things... For example, if I change the backdrop via Pictures and Video's, more often than not the phone will hang requiring a stylus reset. Am wondering if this is SPB PocketPlus related???

As far as the PocketPlus, I am using it and I haven't had a problem at all with the icons or anything else for that matter. I haven't had any problems with the txt msgs either. You may need to reset the mms server?? I don't know about that, I just remember reading about it in another thread somewhere... As for the backdrop change, that's not a pocket plus related conflict. I am not sure what else you have installed, but I have changed mine multiple times in the past 2 days and haven't had a single problem or anything that told me I had reset or that I needed to soft reset the phone. I would suggest unistalling the Pocket Plus and reinstalling it. I know that I have had to do that before because of one of the other SPB proggies i used had changed some values in the registry for it. Otherwise, I would contact SPB, they would know how to fix it. Unless you didn't purchase it...

I'v tried uninstalling and re-installing a couple of times to no avail unfortunately
The only other things I have installed (all bought and paid for!) that startup with the phone are SKTools (set to performance optimisation) and Kasperski AntiVirus...
I might try uninstalling those and SPB and reinstalling them one by one...

I have been havng the spb problems since 6.1 installation as well (I am with AT&T in the US, original Kaiser).
Thanks for pointing out the "Refresh All Tabs" option...I have to stupidly admit that I was not aware of it and I have been fixing the icons one at at a time....very boring...However, I have no solution to offer to the problem, other than to verify that it is a real one.

Are you using the "close button" plugin? if so, did you enter tmail.exe and poutlook.exe as exceptions? don;t doing this could lead to problems
for the icons, I have the same problems too sometimes, did you install it on main memory? are the missing icons from programs installed on storagecard?
there is an option under today plugins->advanced, "refresh icons in today plug-in when storage card is inserted." try enabling that and see if it helps

Today Plugin Problems
I also use pocket plus on my Tilt, and it is apparently version 4.0.2 build 6227. What really annoys me is that the today plugin worked perfectly on wm 6.0, but after that &[email protected]#! 6.1 upgrade, it works fine for a few hours after I installed a lot of programs and soft resetted a bunch, until I backed up my phone. After using sprite Backup 5 ONCE, it deletes all my tabs and icons in the plugin and doesn't remember them no matter what I do. It still is checked in the today plugins menu, but it isn't there as there is nothing for it to show. SPB's got some serious work to do.

Today plug-ins shoud be installed to Main Memory.
Spb 4.01 works far better than 4.02 IMO.

After short time I've bought topaz, decided to install HDtweak (due to touchFLO in landscape) and G-config (for some apps in landscape), first days everthing was fine, but... For example:I wanna use calculator in landscape, so I rotate phone, in a second the calculator is in landscape, but in another second it disappears and i can see only home screen in standart vertical position... I thought, problem will dissappear with unistalling tweak and gconfig, but I was wrong... so i decided for hard restart, now i have nothning in my topaz, no tweak, no gconfig installed, but i have still the same problems with calc, album and opera...

i mean , if you did a hard reset i don;t think it's a software or a program problem

Hi guys, I'm interested in flashing my X1 with a clean WM 6.5 ROM, without any additional, modified stuff.
1. Does 6.5 run smoothly on the X1 ? What about the memory usage?
2. Has the screen problem (I cannot recall it exatly but AFAIK it concerned either the landscape mode or the dialer) ?
3. Are there any SERIOUS BUGS in 6.5 which would be a reason for you to resignate from flashing to 6.5 ?
4. Which ROM would you recommend, if there are several ?
I want to stress once more that I'm interested only in the clean version, no fancy stuff.
If you have any suggestions concerning an upgrade to 6.5 please feel free to share them with me.

I find windows 6.5 smooth enough on the X1. I have not encountered any problems with the screen. I can't say which ROM you should choose, it's a matter of personal taste. I prefer Christian's (clean) ROM. Just take a look at ROM development and try a ROM. Read the tutorials before flashing in order to avoid bricking your phone.

thanks for the quick reply. I now recalled the display problem I was talking about: someone reported display corruption concerning the dialer when you use scrolling with the keypad hidden, is this still a problem or has it already been fixed ?
I'm also using Christians clean rom without any major issues.
Just tried the scrolling with the keypad hidden (on the latest 3.904) and you do get graphics corruption, but it's only minor, if you tap on the show keyboard again it rerenders ok again.
Not really an issue for me anyway as I just type the start of the name in on the keyboard and it filters.
I did it screen corruption in the dialer is minor, I think I can handle my phone with that little bug runs smoothly, everything's fine. Can anyone tell me if there's a possibility to customize the "favorites" menu on the today screen ? i tap it and a list of links opens, but I cannot add my own programs.
im using gtrab Pure 6.5 ... very fast and clean.. still didn't happened any problem from over 1 month...

Try CLauncher plugin for launching programs and atcontacts for contacts ... these work fine on mine.
Just be aware that not all plgins are compatible with the latest wm builds and not all are compatible with thw wvga screens.
thanks for the tip, but:
when I install and tap on "applications" in order to add a program I get the following message: the file App3 cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, ore one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.
what shall I do ?

There is still graphic corruption on the listbox on HTC dialpads but if you install the X2 dialpad it works completely fine
I prefer Spikegotti...its the best so far..its smooth and ur asking for the same thing i did a while back...clean and nice..i tried on my X1 the first time a Spikegotti's unofficial ROM..WinMo 6.5.its gr8...go for it

the titanium weather plugin works fine in europe as far as i know.
You just need to find your city code n Accuweather.
Should look something like this EUR|UK|UK186|LEEDS
