im making my own theme and i need help fixing the date overlap. any ideas?

Well, for one you need to change the color because it doesnt look right. Two, something is wrong with your taskbar. It should automatically make the other icons go away.

its in the services.jar in /system/framework, but to edit its something about baksmali and i dont really understand. had someone help with changing to grey for me. i have attached if you want.
did you make your taskbar clear? if so thats why the overlapping with the drop down.
ok so that the issue... my taskbar is clear. is there anyway to keep it clear and fix the date?

Hey guys, quick question. I searched the forum but can't hit on anything close to what I'm trying to find. I searched all the m2d threads but couldn't find anything really either. I found this theme in the m2d thread, but what I want to know is how he got the colored icons in the top right system tray (battery, network, volume, etc.)

I'm guessin thats nhatt's, he's using PDA ROM thats why he has coloured icons, if you do a search you can find what .dll's have which icons.
So there's really no chance of finding these tweeks in a cab form? thanks for the help.

There was a post in PDA thread not long ago with some .cabs 4 coloured icons
Also if you know what .dll etc does the icons then you can take them from one build to another.

Dont know about that.. its a problem with the way Phonecanvas was written.. will probably need someone to re-write the program because noone can figure out what to edit..
by the way.. thats a really nice taskbar.. please tell me where I may get that

Ths for your answer but i've been looking into the reg files, Dlls, TSK...
i miss somting because if i change the tsk the color change....
you're talking about top or bottom taskbar?
Yes color changes relative to the theme applied.. and it seems you've been testing older themes on the new layout.. but cannot remove color all together as far as I know.. Plus the size of the icon is completely off because it was not designed for wm6.5.1.. Im betting that this would interfere with selecting the adjacent icons as well
Oh and im talking about the top taskbar.. is it for QVGA?
Can anyone tell me what the name of the image is for the circled part? I can find every other image 'cept this one, it is drving me crazy!

Sure, it's the title_bar_portrait.9.png located in the framework-res.apk/res/drawable-mdpi or ...hdpi
This one threw me for a while
...also, even though it's a .9.png I find if I resize it to what I what it doesn't cause any issues or require any patching. I find 320 x 20 to be a good size. Just saves having to patch the .9.png each time if you happen to make changes to it a lot
Do you know if it just shows up in that pulldown-menu, or is it used in more places?
I would guess by the name of the file that it does show up in other places, but I have never seen any graphical issues when having changed it, but then again I have never dramatically changed it, so couldn't really say. Turn it pink and see

I took the time and made a pink version of that image.
It seems it's only used in the pulldown menu. Haven't noticed it anywhere else.

First off, make sure you get his permission. Can't just go around taking peoples work. Secondly, you have to pull framework-res.apk, and copy over all the .pngs that you want in your new rom, over to that rom's framework-res.apk.

I have been wanting to do a theme for about a year and a half now. I have done A LOT of research, Finally started to dig in, and wouldn't ya know, this is the ONLY thing I don't think I've seen anything about. I am working on a theme for the evo, its a Droid X theme for CM 6.1.2, I have been theming the framework today and I loaded it on my phone and now i have this semi-transparent box that appears under the pull down bar. How can i get rid of that? i cant seem to find the file. Any help is appreciated, i also attached a screenshot. Thanks.
It also moves along with the bar as I pull it down, not sure if that helps.

Wild guess, but maybe you set a transparent pixel at the bottom to stretchable in the .9.png
I think that image isn't fill_parent though, but it's possible..
I will decompile it again, and see if i can find anything.

I cant find anything....this is being a pain.
I started this last night, and as I was theming I tested it once in a while, and i didnt see it until I changed the progress_horizontal.xml....but as far as i know that shouldnt have changed anything here.
