I'm on my 3rd replacement and this screen is like tinted blood red... This process of sending back the device hoping that the replacement is going to be good is annoying the hell out of me! Has anyone tried to return the device after whatever their respective return period is?
It looks much worse IRL than in this photo! Its too bad that I dont have a second N1 battery or I would take a picture side by side. My Blackberry's camera doesnt show the red very well so i had to use my webcam :\

Out of no where my phone screen is mostly white with lots of multi colored vertical lines. I tried resetting it hard, soft, and reset it to the defaults. I still cannot see anything on the screen. I assume its a loose cable to the screen, but since i am under warrenty i didnt open it up. I already have a replacement warrenty phone on its way, but i dont wanna return a cooked rom. What do u guys think the best way to reformat the phone back to an original rom?
Can you take a screenshot of it?
I cant see anything on the screen. But ill take a picture of the screen...

Thanks
from what I can see from the photo your screen is cracked
No its not cracked at all. Ill try and take a better picture.
To take a better image, use MyMobiler (although i do suspect it'll give the regular windows screen).
that certainly looks like a crack to me, it won't be really apparent if its on the back side
yeah that is for sure cracked, well unless you drew on the screen with a black marker. you do know that if you send a warranty phone in that has physical damage they charge you the cost of the replacement phone they sent you?
i tried using my Mobiler (which by the way ****ing owns) and i dont see anything wrong with the screen.

can anyone say ****? How the **** could i have cracked? (obviously u cant answer that). I already started the warrenty process. Any smart ideas?
ive read a few threads that screens will just crack sometimes without real damage. sorry man that sucks.
I appreciate everyones help. Maybe they will look past this small "crack". Do u think its possible to re flash the rom without a working screen?
yeah i suppose you could flash it but you won't be able to calibrate the screen, try it and then check my mobiler to see what is going on.
here is my next issue. I cant find the text file that i stored the original radio and rom version. What is the best OEM to go with? *im an att customer and i got this phone thru warrenty in may*

i haven't read through it but that should help.
Hello, moving from trusty dash/excalibur - doa over weekend - to either kaiser/att tilt or fuze. Going to buy from 3rd party off craigslist - please clue me in as to what to watch out for, problems with phone not obvious, esn issues, etc., going in a couple of hours.
Thanks very much as I am clueless on these phones.
For kaiser, make sure the tilt aspect of the device holds. My first one got really weak that when you'd tilt the screen up it'd fall right back down.
For both, kaiser and raphael, slide it open and close a couple times and watch out if its smooth or not. Theres a ribbon cable that connects the top half of the device to the bottom half, if you hold the device up to a light while sliding it you and sometimes make it out (look between the screen and kb). Look at the edes of this and see if they're freyed at all. If so stay away.
Also the obvious, check for physical damage, take off the battery cover and battery and look at the heads of the screws and see if they've been messed with. They should be black and will show silver if they've been scratched (i.e. opened up with a screw driver).
Look for the warranty sticker, if its not there, stay away. On the kaiser if you take off the battery cover it'd be the hole thats on the top right. There should be a sticher in there that says void in white.
press every button and make sure it works. Open up new note to test the keyboard.
when you take out the battery, look for a white kind of fluffy sticker. If its blue that means the phones been subject to moisture/water.
I'd say thats about it, don't worry if the device runs slow or any of the software part of the device because that can all be flashed and customized.
last note, i'd go with the raphael over the kaiser.
good luck and enjoy your new device.
So the flat wire that connects my nook color screen to the motherboard was pierced. Sufficed to say, do not allow idiot relatives who say they can fix something to be alone with said beloved gadget. (It was dropped and the frame dented somewhat, not a big deal, worked fine still) Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this issue, should I get a whole new replacement screen? Can I fix the wire, and if so, where would I find parts that fit my nook? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I really do miss my nook.
I'd say call 1-800-THE-BOOK and see how liberal their warranty service is. Put everything back together and just tell them "it quit working". Don't offer any liability (don't tell them you dropped it, don't tell them a relative "fixed" it for you). If they want to troubleshoot over the phone, do what they say (if it won't even power up, tell them that). Don't lie, just don't tell ALL the truth.
Edit: They will be able to tell what happened once it shows up, but by then then easiest thing to do will be to bin it and send you a new one. Don't go to the store.
So one day after working out I took out my phone from my pocket and basically the screen wont turn on at all. upon further inspection it looks like that there is a very VERY minor scratch UNDER the screen ranging from right above the home button from the left to right corner. it is barely visible and you have to look at it in the perfect angle just to see the crack. I am freaking out and not sure what I should do. The phone will turn on and everything and it seems like i can actually touch things on the phone and I will hear feedback from it but just no image will display at all. It is a blank screen as if the phone is turned off. Any ideas on how to fix this? or would I need to try to fix the screen all together?

Sounds like what happened on my S4... when taken to AT&T they said it was a pressure crack. That's not the glass, that's the screen itsel lf possibly due to excessive heat OR if something heavy was left on it (or not that heavy, just on top of the phone for quite a while). Either way, you would need the screen replaced or you can take it to AT&T and see what you can do This is only from my own experience and knowledge, however my S4 broke due to presumed heat (don't know how) and nothing on it, though AT&T refuses to rule that possibility out. Sorry if I couldn't help too much

You helped do not worry! So I called samsung and when I explained how exactly the crack appeared, he told me that I could send it in and they can see what they can do (I was kinda nervous because I was rooted but I was able to odin it back to stock thank god its not hard at all to do even without what is viewable on the screen lol) The rep told me something along the lines of it could be either dead pixles is what I am seeing and not a crack. I kinda doubt thats why its like that but idk. He said that when samsung gets it they will do a hardware check and if they can determine if the crack was not made due to me dropping it then they will fix it. As for how true this is I have no idea! I never in my life had to use a warranty before so im scared to find out what they say!

If you see the crack under the screen when it's off then I'm pretty sure that's not dead pixels, I would show you my S4 but my dad has it in custody to get it fixed and sell it sometime in the future... basically, everytime I rebooted the phone, more cracks came, and then they grew. I'm glad I could help though and I hope that the warranty covers it even with Odin flash, however root is within the system I believe so even a clean Odin flash may remove root but not all traces Hopefully they won't bother checking the entire system for traces, but if they do... thennnn you're kinda screwed sadly. Considering you're sending this to the actual manufacturer (Samsung) instead of the carrier (AT&T) then it is very likely that they will find out about the root. Whether they really care? (Which they probably do, screw your enterprising ways Samsung) That's up to them now. I wish you the best of luck!!!! Tell me how it goes
Hello All,
I've got refurbished HTC One that has a weird fuzzy screen problem. When I scroll over pictures they are blurry. All text is fine but as soon as there is a picture that section gets blurry. If I take a screen shot it shows up fine so I had to take a picture of it with another phone. I'm on my third asureon refurb and I don't really want to go through getting another. Anyone have any ideas how to fix? A factory reset makes it better but it ends up getting bad again down the road.
I don't think it's the software issue, seems like the LCD display need to be replaced.
