latest SPL / hboot.img for the Nexus One - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Could anyone point me in the right direction of the latest SPL dump for the Nexus one?
I've had issues flashing any boot.img over 2.3mb, and I want to see if this has anything to do with the SPL.
Cheers in advance!

I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to SPL's. How are Roms, Kernels & Radios related to SPL's exactly? can you fastboot flash hboot hboot.img any of these??
Are the kernels the SPL's? or do you have to extract the hboot.img out of the ROMs and flash it separate?
Its just not clear sorry

Why are you so obsessed with SPLs?
Either way, to my understanding you can't flash/adb SPLs on a nexus one yet. Could be wrong though, so good luck finding your answer.

There is only one SPL for the nexus one... well technically 2(the holiday Nexus One's SPL), but there are no .img files available for either one that are flashable.

Dumping ENG SPL?

hey all,
I temporarily have access to a N1 with the ENG s-off SPL, and I'm wondering if anyone has an idea based off previous phones of how to dump it into a file as something useful.
I'll keep looking around but I thought I'd throw the question out there.

I believe we already have the engineering SPL. We just can't flash it. Really appreciate that you would be willing to do that, though.

Thanks, I actually updated the holiday phone from 0.33.2008 with this without a problem, still ENG s-off.

why aren't we able to flash it? Because we have non-holiday phones and they came with s-on?

It's the engineering nexus 1... aka, the phone with S-off... which allows you to flash any ROM even if it is not officially signed

S-On and if you look at the hboot size, they are different. Eng N1 is 768kb and Shipping is 512kb
Fastboot flash hboot hboot.img Do not flash to your boot partition.
what will happen if i try to flash the SPL above? or will i not be able to due to s-on?

you might be able to, but it will most likely brick your phone.

S-off and S-on : Security on and off (writing directly to nand or not) , most probably not SPL linked, S-on prevents you to downgrade.

So its a phone hardware thing.
Good to know, thanks a bunch!

I've heard people are looking for a way to relock the SPL on the nexus one, and to do that they need a copy of an original SPL. So I was wondering, and I am sure other android n00bs out there want to know as well, what goes in to dumping an SPL, or any image for that matter, and how come we can't dump the SPL that ships on the nexus one?

[Q] Can someone explain kernel 2708+?

Hello, all.
Some time ago I got my friend's G1 up to CM 6.1.0 following this guide here.
As a result, I would like to confirm some things:
1. DangerSPL installs HBOOT 1.33.2005.
2. That HBOOT requires Radio 2.22.23.02, or another 2.xx radio.
If that's true, then the steps provided in the 2708+ kernel thread will not brick his device, correct?
It installs HBOOT 1.33.0013d and Radio 2.22.27.08. Because HBOOT 1.33.2005 has fastboot, I can install both of these .img files simultaneously without risk of bricking because of a reboot?
And, by extension, his device will have +14MB RAM and a 96MB /system partition?
Any ROM is compatible with this HBOOT/Radio combination, but I might need to install SpoofSPL to report 1.33.2005 to ROMs like CM6.1? If that's right, can any ROM simply be installed through Amon Ra or CWM like other devices?
follow this guide and start at Step 3. If you already have danger spl

Newest SPL without fastboot

Hi guys
My Dreams USB port is broken so i don't have adb fastboot or mass storage.
It's been a while since i powered on my Dream but now i want to bring it back to life.
I habe Radio 2.22.23.02 and HBOOT 1.33.2005
I would like to somehow flash a new spl but cannot find any tutorial which wont use fastboot.
Is it possible to do this via update.zip?
If it is - Can someone provide Links to required files
Regards
Nik
yes it is possible, look for a flashable .zip for the radio and spl (either the .25 or .08 radio and the .13d spl) you can look in ezterry's 2708+ thread or I believe idrifta has them in his as well. you will just need to do a little searching as I don't have the files at hand

Radio update?

I'm a noob so go easy. My wife has a stock HTC one and I'm rooted with s-off running viper rom. Recently there was an OTA radio update. My question is, can I pull the radio from my wife's stock ONE and push it to my Viper ONE? If so, can someone give me the ADB commands....

I've been there and I'm guessing you're referring to this thread.
Sprint One Stock 1.31.651.2 Rooted / Unrooted / Firmware / OTA Package
I've been through that whole thread and no one gives an answer to my question. All I want is the radio, someone said they tried a radio update with adb but didn't think it worked and no one gave a yes or no whether or not that would work. That's what I'm asking in the Q&A forum.

I think you need to fastboot one of the provided zips, there was reference they are signed. The s-off without the bootimg and hoot were no issues for me, think if you exclude the other stuff in that one, it will work, but might set up for an issue on next update. More will come the next few days, better to wait until ironed out, usually there are a few that brick until the firmware is better understood.
Anyway, the soff, no hoot, no bootimg did not cause any issues, extra flashes, or having to reload rom.

It's not fastboot per se, I'm pretty sure you have to flash new radios on the One with the RUU command (which I can't remember for the life of me, I think it's fastboot rebootRUU and then you can flash radio).
You have to flash one of the firmware zips and then either restore your backup, reflash the rom, or reflash your kernel if you have any problems - not sure if an early problem was resolved from just flashing the firmware

I just used the revone s-off method and flashed the s-off firmware zip. Gives the new radio and leaves the boot components intact. Viper rom still running flawlessly with no need to wipe or reload anything.

I too simply flashed the s-off firmware for the radio using: fastboot rebootRUU then fastboot flash "firmware".zip. End result got the new radio and nothing else was altered. I am running eclipticone Rom 3.7

No. Just make sure you are using the firmware for S-Off not the regular one.

No you don't want to relock just make sure you get the correct firmware for s-off users, and you obviously must be s-off then flash in fastboot. fastboot oem rebootRUU then fastboot flash zip "firmware".zip

You should be able to flash radios easy if you are s-OFF. If you are not than your phone might not allow you to flash over radio. If you are s-OFF you just basically flash the radio with fastboot command. There should be a huge firmware and radio thread with original and international radios which contains originals and GPE radios.
