SwiftKey keyboard
SwiftKey is like an English professor is alive and working inside your phone. It’s still in beta, but it’s already an amazing little application. What makes SwiftKey different is its ability to predict the next word in your sentence. Predicting the current word is so 2009! Of course everyone loves things that make our lives easier - things like correctly guessing what word comes next. My only issue (and it's a small one) is that you can't enter words that aren't in the dictionary by pressing the spacebar and moving on. You have to actually tap the word to get SwiftKey to enter it.
To sign up and check out the SwiftKey beta head over to SwiftKey.net. It's really polished for a beta, and to be honest I'm planning on using it as is until they release a new version. At the moment SwiftKey is English only, but the developers say that they plan to include support for all the Latin based languages in the near future. No word on availability and pricing of the final version, but by the look and feel of the application, it shouldn't be too far off. Keep an eye on their site for details, and be sure to let me know if you see it slip into the Market before I do!
Pros:
Amazing full word prediction
Easy to add to custom dictionary
Also predicts punctuation
Special characters are easily entered by long pressing
Cons:
Learning curve
Can be laggy when first starting up
Will always pick the word it thinks is correct, so be careful with the spacebar
File remove by moderator. If anyone wants it then download it through official channels such as Market.
very interesting thank you for sharing
are your app could use "return" key on messaging? im using htc magic and very frustated with htc magic messaging cause i cant press enter key
some way to quicly switch languages would be nice :\
My two cents: LOVE the design, not ugly at all (to me, anyway), it was never slow, ran perfectly on my MyTouch 3G, COOL haptic feedback adjustment (CM6 much? ), its cool to long press for "!" and "?" (among others), and the keys are easy to see and tap.
9/10!

Another way of input? Recognition of hand writing ?
Yeah, the xperia has handwriting recognition enabled.
I think it's only for english and some other languages ( not too sure, but I have used english handwriting )
but how it switching on ?
plz make screenshot
Haha too lazy to take a SS.
In order to do it, when you're in Notes or something else, click on the software keyboard icon between the two softkeys.
When the keyboard appears, it has a white arrow next to it, click on that.
Once the list of keyboard options appears, you can either use "Letter Recognizer" which is better for regularily printed letters.
Or, you can use Transcriber, which is good to recognize cursive, numbers, and letters.
Hope this helps!

only symbol pad and keyboard pad
oh wow, I guess it's not included in your rom version.
Try settings -> input and see if it can be configured =S
nothing in setup
so, can any upload CAB ?
Transcriber.cab
Hi,
Well, I did get the file for Tytn II some time ago, but it did not work on the Xperia. Don't know why. Installed and pretended to work, but could not recognize to "touch" on the screen.
It is a program built by Microsoft, I used english and french versions (on my last PPC). Personally I would guess that there may be a version for VGA phones, but have not tried to find it yet.
Point is that I've been tweaking my Xperia for only some 3 weeks now...

Hi, just to update...
I did not find a downloadable version yet, but the Infinite Rom has a HD english version for it, maybe the cooker can enlighten us...
I just found out that Smart Keyboard Pro has a config switch to disable switching to full-screen in landscape mode. This makes it work in landscape like original TnT keyboard - entry field does not cover the whole screen. This fixes one of TnT(lite) issues for me. Perhaps it could be useful to someone who needs a soft keyboard with support for other languages. Not sure if there are other/free keyboards which support such option, I decided a few euros is not that bad for a keyboard with so many options
Ultra Keyboard as has No Fullscreen Mode
Ultra keyboard has this as well, it also has some nice tools above the keyboard like selecting text, cut, copy paste. It also has cursor keys as well as trace(Swype) support. You can configure it to use trace mode all the time or on either portrait or landscape mode. I like to use it only in portrait, as the landscape mode means my finger has to do a lot of traveling. Trace is not as nice as swype, but works fairly well. The cursor keys included on both portrait and landscape keyboards make it fairly easy to correct any typos.
Yeah, Ultra has some really nice features, however it is unaware of non-latin characters, which kind of defies the purpose for me, I could type in English using TnT keyboard. If it had more languages I'd switch to it from Smart.
I am using the Ultra keyboard trial but haven't been able to figure out how to make it work full width. The tool bar is, but not the keys. What am I missing? Besides probably a brain

I've started using Thumb Keyboard, which costs $1.99 but which has a great split keyboard in landscape for comfortable thumb typing while holding the tab. Autocomplete was just added, but I'm not sure which languages it supports. It's in the Market.
It's not 100% ready for prime time, but I love having a keyboard like this. My thumbs were taking a beating trying to use a full-width keyboard. (Tiny girl hands!)
Thanks for the tip on Thumb Keyboard, I bought it and am typing with it right now. (It was only $1.33 for me fyi.) Much closer to what I wanted from the keyboard, now I can hit all the letters with my thumbs. The space bars are still a little far for my liking, but not too bad. App looks like it's pretty new, so hopefully it'll keep getting updates.

Oops, yeah, I think you're right on the price. But I'm glad you're using it! It's just what I wanted/needed, especially after ending up with my thumb in a splint after a week of heavy use of the default keyboard! This is much less of a strain.
This is a simple try to work around the lack of an Arabic Keyboard or input methods in WP7 phones.
It's a simple App that implements the Full Arabic Letters, with the (Tashkeel) Symbols to make it able to write in Arabic.
The Letters still lock disconnected when writing , but it gets parsed right when copied and pasted into search queries.
I have included a fast app bar button to quickly mark all what you have written for easier copy/paste experience.
The app still supports the English keyboard by tapping on the textbox itself. Tap anywhere else to get back to the Arabic keyboard.
it supports both portrait and landscape modes.
Here's some screenShots:

Just search for the app in the market place for Arabic Keyboard with this icon
This is the app link (it opens Zune directly)
Great . Thank you very much
I have just known that If I rebuild the app using the mango sdk, it will actually connect the letters, that's exactly what happened
I'm just curious about updating my marketplace app, if I updated it to mango , will the old wp7 users still be able to download and use it ?

You can upload 2 versions ... 1 for Mango & the other for Nodo
Your app is very helpful but it needs to be updated to connect the letters and to resume quickly without reloading the app and erasing what was written.
As you see now there are some apps that shows Arabic letters connected
Ex: Feed Reader and Whatsapp.
Most users are using Mango Now.
Please update it.
The mango version is already done, it just takes time to get validated from MS Marketplace...
I think by the end of the week it will be released.
Meanwhile, you can check my other keyboard that allows you to write in ASCII and ancient Greek

Thanks very much
I really can't wait
Anyone know if this can be changed through settings (or even an app of some kind)? I can't find anything on it.
I really miss this feature from my S5, especially since I don't ever use split screen which is the default for longpress on the S6
also searching for a solution

I agree. Sorry no answer... but I have seen several threads elsewhere on the topic and this is driving me nuts. From a user perspective: I was previously able to surf on my phone and bookmark / share via the menu key with only one hand. Now I can't because of the change in this key. This is not just a case of stubborness: one handed usability is important for many groups - from the physically compromised to late-night-feeding mothers. I hope a developer can offer a work around soon.

If you're willing to root, you can install LMT for one handed control, including menu button access and the thumb reach stretching pointer.

Version 2.2.1 is available now! It now supports Facebook Messenger, Telegram, Viber and whatsApp too.
Version 2.4 is out. Now you can change the way Drextee looks on your watch.
Love the app. But is there any chance you can let users change the vibration for when a message is received. Even your long vibrate setting is actually very short. Please let us set a vibrate pattern.

Hi ruggs1234,
What version are you using? We added more options a few months ago. The longest vibration is 1 second now. Do you mean that's very short?
Thank you for using Drextee!
Im using the current version with the vibrate set to very long. But im hoping the user can define a pattern. That way I can make the pattern stop and start enough for me not to miss. I appreciate all you settings are handled on the watch so this may be tricky but this is otherwise a fantastic app so im hoping....
Thankyou.
Hi all,
We just released a productivity keyboard for smart phones. It has some of the technologies that you have been using in our Drextee Messenger.
For more information, please see https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-productivity-keyboard-t3697472 and let us know what you think.
i downloaded it an tried.. seemed to really run slow.. have trouble syncing.. and the interface was hard to understand.. would def like to try again after some updates. Thanks.
