Is it just me not being careful enough with my diamond?
Because it does not take much for my screen to get scratched.
Compared to my htc touch, there is a big difference.
I already needed to buy a tube to try and polish the scratches out.
Waiting for my screen protector to arrive and hope its better then the one from brando because i had to wash it and then i just never got it clean again.
could not get the fingerprints of it and always left some water stains (even when i use a blow dryer)
This is the only thing which disappoints me and also surprises me!
Anyone els noticed this?
didnt u get a oem screen protector in the box?
as posted just now: haven't you applied the screen protector, since this is a different type of screen then your previous phone there is a reason it is being shipped with a screen protector!
I ordered a thicker screen protector when I placed my order. No scratch what so ever and the phone is almost all the time accompanied with my keys or lighter ...
I did get it but i messed it up by accident...
and i also received one with my htc touch but i did not need one for that phone.
it did not scratch that easily.
So because of this i thought i would not need to order a new one, now i see i was wrong.

Where did you get a thicker one? I have the one that came in the box on my Diamond just now which seems fine - but I also messed up when putting it on and its slightly squint. I would like to get a replacement - but the HTC store are only currently selling them in packs of 6!

I know what you mean /sigh
HI,
I've managed to get a few small scratches on mine.
Can't think how. I always carry it on it's own in a soft pocket - the same pocket I used for my old Orbit 2 and Orbit & Jamin before it etc... none of which ever scratched.
Was even being careful while I waited for a better screen protector...
Seems to scrtach quite easily...
So, does anyone have any ideas on how to minimise effect of/repair small scratches? There are plenty of solutions for plastic screens but I can't find any reliable advice for the Diamond (or the iPhone for that matter - I searched for iPhone as it has a similar hard glass screen and has been around longer)...
All ideas welcome!
Thanks.
The screen protector looks exactly the same as those bundled with Vario II and III and I must say it's rubbish. I bought 2 from Taiwan or China on ebay for a quid inc. shipping and they are a bit thicker and they don't descrease the quality of colours as the standard ones.
Not sure if anyone else has noticed or has this but when my screen is off it looks like there is fluid or something on the inner part of the screen. Almost like grease looks like on water .
Any ideas anyone.
Same problem here! It´s only in the middle of the screen - (1 cm border) - the same for u?
you can only notice it when you tilt the screen to a light! you dont see it in the dark..
It's probably just the screen protector...
I honestly cannot see anything like grease on water below the screen when the phone is off. Possibly because all I see is grease on the screen from my fingers.
its just where the original screen protector was on it. I had the same. 1cm border arround screen. just give it a good scrub with a soft pollishing cloth to get it off

Yea , same for me . Sorry but its not where the sreen protector is as it has never had one being tempered glass.
Hmm sounds like a warranty return then
it should have been a protector there. sure it's tempered glass, but the digitizer on top of it is plastic.
same problem
I have the same problem on the middle of the screen: 1cm x 2cm area.I can see it with dark background. If I tick this area with the stylus, it moves like some fluid.
I will try to take photos later.
Its under the glass , there is no screen protector on the device. My camera is broken so hopefully some photos will come up later
I have the same problem on my "original Touch" - I noticed that it's visible only when screen is pointed to some polarized light (for example laptop display, fluorescent tubes in subway). In the subway I can hardly read the text. Under the sunlight or under the normal bulb it's not visible (or barelly visible from very sharp angle).
I heard there is some polarization film under the plastic-glass that can get released and make this liquid effect.
My friend noticed this even on his Eten x500+, but not so bad.
This was one of the reason I get my Diamond - because I need to send Touch for warranty repair.
It's a bad news that this problem persists on Diamond
look at this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293311
Yea I think the last user is probably right . I keep it in my jeans front pocket so it could be presure on the screen.

1. Nope, but didn't make it worse. The screen was as readable as before.
2. Nope, if you fit it carefully no particles or dust will ever be collected under the screen protector.
3. No change at all. It is the same as before, no hindrance to the touch screen after the screen protector is applied.
thnx ........ ordered it !!

1: No. Didn't change at all.
2: No. In fact its better than before. Without the screenprotector dust was at the edges of the screen all the time - with the screenprotector - nothing.
3: I would say it didn't change. However, since the screenprotector is quite thick (0,2-0,3mm I guess ... ), the handling is much better now. Especially with the HTC flow-applictations the finger flowing at the edges of the screen is much more comfortable now.
And very nice: When applying it on the screen, you can easily pull it off again if you accidentally enclosed dust under it, and wash it. After drying it works as well as before. (Did it about 10 times before I aligned it perfectly onto the screen without any dust sealed in ...
Best screenprotector I ever had
wooow seems really gr8...thnx so much for sharing ur experience
Ordered it.

I agree. Have used it for all my phones. First time bought pack of two and never used second one. Since then, only buy singles
Question does the screen fill the gap between the case and the screen so it is better to touch the screen at the edges?
I've got some scratches on my Martin fields protector, from using the stylus!
found I'd got a sharp point on the tip of the styus, still not certain how..
unfortunately I noticed it as it put a scratch up the shield.
bah!

Got the same issue, but haven't been able to see anything sharp at the end of my stylus...
I got a scratch too, that's why I converted to Brando, because they are cheap and I wouldn't have to fear about scratches on a 2 bucks screen protector.
I've used Protech screen shields for a number of my devices. Been happy with every one and delivery is fast.
Might try the Martin shield just to see how it compares.
cwh
I have to buy a new one, O2 scratched mine when they repaired the crack in the case
anyone know if there a matte screen protector is available for the hd2 yet? the screen is such a fingerprint/oil magnet and i think a matte sp will alleviate this somewhat
I'd like a matte one too. I used a Power Support anti-glare protector on my iPhone and I liked the feel of it.
Get *ANY* "Anti-Glare" screen protector. I've come to realise that Anti-Glare = Matte, and it's pretty finger-print resistant.
Try http://shop.brando.com/bw-pda-screen-protector-htc-hd2-_p03931c0019d008.html for a start.
Hi folks,
jus bought this one last night. waiting for it to come, will leave a review once i install it.

Screen prodector for this monster?
Anyone wahtch this scratch-resistant (video)
I installed the original HTC HD2 protector. After that the proximity sensor stopped working.
What I mean is that in a darkened room and in a call when you move the phone away from your face the backlight should come on and likewise turn off when taken close to your face. But this functunality works no more. Again okay after removing the protector.
Any similar experiences ????

Mine is actually working perfectly. Are you sure yours is original? does it come with 2 holes over the proximity sensor because mine does.
Where can I buy the original HD2 Screen Protector?

Yes. It happen to me also! its to difficult to install because of the size of the screen and the fact that should match exactly the light an proximity sensor. I find impossible also to properly install the screen protector around the hardware keys. For me the original HTC screen protector it was a joke. Finally, i give up and remove that peace of crap!
Hi
Is anyone using a screen protector with the Mozart? Just wanted to know if it affects the sensitivity?
Thanks

If you go for a good screen protector "Martin Fields is the best out now as per my knowledge" you should not be having any issues at all..
As capacitive screens have been in the market for quite a long time
I use the screen protector with the Mozart, il est tres bien pour proteger l'ecran htc Mozart
I recieved mine yesterday. ordered one from brando.
it fits nearly perfect. top/bottom i have total less than 1mm uncovered, left/right less than 0.5mm each side.
at first it felt a little like it would be "stopping" movements, but its way better now and i only notice the protector if i get a close look on bottom edge.

but i'm not so sure of the quality, i will test these screen protector this week
Yes , i use the screen protector for HTC Mozart and to be frank there are no problems using it ... its much better to use a screen protector
anyone not using a screen protector? is it really gorilla glass and scratch resistant?
there is no need for a protector
accidentally dropped my mozart the other day. quite lucky i got a screen protector on it as it now has a big long scratch on it. i wonder if the gorilla glass would take the heat though. dont really wanna take the risk lol.
that said. anyone from malaysia who knows where to get some decent casings?
when one of the htc heads came to our country to advertise their phones, he was laughing that a lot of us are using screen protectors. he said their phones are using gorilla glass and there is no need for screen protectors. i want to try it though but i am scared to not use a screen protector.
Ny mozart must consist of hot butter... Scratces easily... Would like to punch the HTC representative om his nose... Gorilla glass ny ass:-(

I managed to get a nice one for MYR30.00 unbranded casing from one of the shops at Carre Foure Subang Jaya. However, it was the only one. You may try there.
Is anyone using the Martin Fields screen protector?
I am considering getting one although want some feedback from a fellow Mozart user who has one. Perhaps a picture of it applied to the phone as well?
my screen protector is starting to get bubbles and i cant see any screen protectors here anymore, i am VERY tempted to start using it without any screen protector, but i am afraid what might happen. haha!
Do use them
new here but thought i just write a quick note on saying DO USE SCREEN PROTECTORS.
I brought 2 Mozart for ebay. (one worked one was dead) so i thought i see how easy it was to scratch the screen with keys or money and just in the pocket.
so i placed the dead one in a pocket without a screen protector and some money and went to work (im a electrical installers so i lift alot of washing machine ect) after about a hour of normal lifting and walking i had a scratched the screen only a small one but it was noticable.
So i then put the keys in my pocket and within about 15mins i had a 1 inch scratch along the screen.
So i then tryed without anything and still managed to scratch the screen i think that was when i pulled it out the pocket i might have caught it on a metal stud that are on my jeans pocket.
on my working one i have a otterbox case and screen protector and carry it everyday with money and keys and its still in a perfect condition.
now im sure you will say that because its not normal for carring washing machine ect with money and keys but why take the risk there screen protector are pennys maybe a few quid and i still managed to scratch the screen with nothing in my pocket.
Just my thoughts on the subject
So which screen protector do you have sleepymonk?
And orubourus? Which screen protector do you have? I'd like to avoid yours if it started to form bubbles. :-/
Thanks
Im using the screen protector which came with my otterbox commuter case. the case itself was a bit expensive £23 but i think it worth the money to keep the phone protected
i used momax. nice and clear screen protectors.
