I did use the search function, so let me get that out of the way.
I'm trying to find the apk for Citizen Sports app, Live Scores. I loved Sportacular on the iPhone, and was overjoyed when I found out they had an Android app as well. My problem is this, Android Market, QR codes, cnet downloads, I can't seem to find the file to put this little gem on my MyTouch. I had it once before, but since I've rooted it, I can't find it anywhere!
If someone can direct me to where I can download it (it's a free app), or possibly post an attachment, so long as it doesn't break any of XDA's rules, please help! I want my sports fix back!
Thanks ahead of time!
found live scores in the market place, its what you have described and is published by citizen sports
I understand the app exists, I've even had it installed on the phone once before. My problem is, I've rooted it since then, and now, as a result, I am no longer able to locate it (app market, online sources, etc.). I'm just asking if anyone has a means to point me towards the .apk file, so I can install if from my sd card, or on the device's browser.

not sure why you cannot see the app, i can see it, i downloaded it and installed it also.
i guess i can extract it from my phone and save the apk for you, PM me and i'll zip and email it to you.
I have been searching all over for this application. I use a Moto Milestone on the AT&T network and since it is not a "standard" phone I can not see this in the market. If anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it.
-Thanks

I have looked through the whole phone and so did some one else however what I'm wanting to do is the my downloads in market of apps I've paid for that i know I'll never use again. I know i can't refund them thats not what I want just to clear them from my downloads. Also did a search on this forum and came up with nothing.

I second this, too many 1$ apps i'll never use again. itd be nice to clean things up a bit in the my downloads section
i got alot of the ahome themes before i found this site and will never use them again...
When you have a list of applications, press menu, and choose "change view" and check the "Free items only"
Add that to the running list of improvements to the Market... Ability to organize downloads into categories (including archive).
Is there any workaround...?
Whats the problem ?
All the apps i have ever bought / downloaded, via the market work fine.
I believe this is what he's talking about

It appears that as of February, Google made it so whenever a developer selects the "Copy Protected" option when listing their application on the marketplace, that application will not appear for any rooted phone or developer phone. Basically it seems they did this because a rooted or developer phone can extract the APK file after purchasing an app, and then return it while still keeping the application.
I recently became aware of this today as I was working with a developer to determine why his application would not appear in the market. It's a shame - the majority of the root community is not out there to STEAL apps, we support our developers, I was trying to find his application on the market so I could BUY it. I really wanted to purchase the application and now I have no way to do it, simply because I wanted to use my phone to it's full extent instead of being stuck on the stock firmware.

Any example of apps not showing up on the market for us?

Search for the application Accudial on the market. It's copy protected. I get 0 results. Thats the one Example I am aware of but it also could be related to the fact that I'm on a 2.0.1 ROM instead of the older ones, switching back to test again. It's kind of hard to determine whether or not there are apps being hidden from us, if we don't know the app exists how are we gonna know it's hidden from our results?
It's because your on a Eclair rom..just searched on the WG 10 (Donut) and got AccuDial and AccuDial Free
Yeah I'm switching back to the latest CM ROM right now. But when I was running 2.0.1/Eclair, I was trying to download an application designed for 2.0 and it did not appear in the market - the developer said the only requirement he placed on it was that the phone be 2.0 or higher, so we came to the conclusion that it was the copy protection blocking the app.
But regardless of that - what about those links in my first post? Google Employees reply in those articles openly admitting that access to copy protected apps have been blocked from rooted and dev phones. Did Google quietly "undo" this between now and then? I can't find anything that says they did.

Dunno.

They did lift the "block", I know of at least 2 protected apps that I can use, Nesoid and Mobile Defense (not protected anymore but it ised to be)
Right now, I can only find Accudial Free but not Accudial. I'm on Cyan 4.2.9.1.
Maybe that's because I'm not in the US??? Or that I don't have a Google Checkout account???
Thanks!

The fair labor standards act was passed in 1938. Still in effect today. Just because Google made the change 10 months ago doesn't mean it suddenly was removed.. Whenever I search on the topic all I can find is info that says that access to copy protected apps been disallowed, can't find any article that mentions them removing the block.
I'm not saying it hasn't been removed, but it's kind of hard for me to know whether or not i'm being blocked from applications, I don't know what ones are copy protected and what ones aren't, or if theyre being blocked from me, because they simply wouldn't show up and I wouldn't even know they exist.
If the block has in fact been removed, it'd be nice to see if anyone could find an article that mentions it. Everything online talks about the block being placed

Search Nesoid, that is a protected app. If you see the paid version then they lifted the block
Have you ran market enabler?

What's that...?
Edit: Got it... http://code.google.com/p/market-enabler/ And it works... Thanks for the tip...!
Edit 2: Market Enabler works by mimicking certain APNs, be sure to backup your current APN first and restore it after getting the apps (it can be done within Market Enabler).
Cheers.
I've done a bit of searching on this, but, the terms are too generic and I can't narrow it down enough, so, i'm sorry if this has been answered before.
So, I'm an avid gamer, love the emulators for Android. Long story short, there is an app that will allow me to use my bluetooth controller with Android. This app has been used and downloaded by a number of different people, but, when I try to install, the app never appears in my drawer. It shows as installed in settings/applications, but thats it.
I've installed it via the market, and ADB, even rebooting after both installs. Running SuperD 1.11, this also occurred under Cyanogens new 2.1 ROM.
Contact the developer...
this application may not open on its own...you may have to open the emulator to see the affects of this app...i cant be sure as you didnt give enough info to properly diagnose. a name for the app might be nice. if the app shows up in your downloads in the market, then try clicking the "View developer's Website" link in the details page, if there is none then try sending an email to the developer to ask how to use the app.

Hi all,
Do you folks have suggestions of good places to download apk's so I can still install apk's to my device even though it's not connected (would download on pc and transfer to device)?
Thanks,
Ho'okani
Be carfull with questions like this if they think you are asking for "warez" you can be banned, if you are looking for free to download apks check the devlopers sites as most of the time they are up for free. If you cant find anything and its not Private or Paid ill help you but I will dont get you anything that needs to be bought.
Definitely not looking for warez type sites or for apk's you have to pay for. basically looking for freeware type sites so i an download and manually install when i don't have access to the market. I haven't been able to work out how to wifi tether my Gpad with my Touch HD so when at the office so I can't get my Gpad online to gain access to the market since we only use wired lan.
Thanks,
Ho'okani
I'm looking for something similar. One spot where I can find apk's like flash, new york times or other official apps that for whatever reason do not show up in the market.
Getjar.com has a few.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I purchased a number of apps from Handango/Pocket Gear. They had an option to download to PC. Result was the APK for the programs. It was also beneficial for flashing a ROM and having to re-install.
Part of me thinks this is a dumb question, and the reason I can't find where these files are located is because root is needed for it, but I guess it's worth a shot...
I purchased NBA JAM from the Google Play Store, and have it installed on my Turbo. It doesn't really work well on it, so I want to play it on my tablet (Nexus 9). However, I can't download it for the N9 via the Play Store as it shows as incompatible. I wanted to extract the apk file from my phone and then sideload it to the N9, but I haven't been able to locate the apk file on my phone.
Sorry for wasting anyone's time whose reading this and thinking "that's what root is for, n00b!", I hope you can at least get a chuckle at my expense
You can use myappsharer for to send the apk file for Bluetooth to your tablet use it it's very handy

Thanks! Will give it a try when I get home today. Much appreciated.
PS- Was my inkling about needing root for what I was attempting to do (locate the file) accurate?

I use this. It creates a folder called App_Backup_Restore on you phone and from there I
can copy my files to my computer for safekeeping.
If you cannot see the folder from your pc, you can move it with a file manager to a location that can be accessed from your computer.
Thank you both - I went with myappsharer and was able to beam it over (it didn't work, I guess it really wasn't compatible after all, but the file got sent). It was my first time ever beaming - kinda slow and quirky but I guess it's not supposed to be for big files typically.
Thanks!
