Hello all...
I recently upgrade to Cyanogen 5.0.6. Worked great for a bit but then my home screen began to freeze. I would love my data signal. I would be forced to reboot to fix the problem only to have it happen again and again...I get the following message:
"Activity Launcher (in application Launcher) is not responding"
Please help...I'm a newbie and have no idea what to do.
THank you

Well I took the plunge last night and rooted and installed the Cynogen ROM and after some pretty tense moments everything worked!!
Only thing is Cherry Rplayer, a decent radio app I liked will no longer work: I get a "Sorry! The application Cherry Rplayer (process com.leadapps.android.radio.cherryrplayer) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force close" message immediately upon launch.
I searched for a similar app & found 'A Online Radio' (which looks exactly the same as Cherry Rplayer in the screenshots in the app store?) and it does the same exact thing.
Other radio apps continue to work fine such as 'NPR News'. I've also tried re-installing and still does not work.
What's up with that?
Thanks in advance
Did you flash with the latest version, ie, 5.0.5.2? One of the changes include
* Disable V8 in Webkit and switch back to JSC due to app incompatibilities

No, I used 5.0.5.1. But I just upgraded to 5.0.5.2 and launching these apps result in the same immediate force close message.
In case anyone else is having the same problem, I was able to find in another thread that fixing uid mismatches in recovery (THANKS jsapp & travon802!) solves this problem...
I'm having the same problem with Power Manager Pro (I bought it, so it's kind of annoying) and fixing uid mismatches didn't solve it.
Happens since CM5.0.5. I'm currently on 5.0.5.2
Hi,
I newly installed ADWLauncher, got a theme and was customizing it.
Then when I changed a folder name, it crashed (The application ADWLauncher EX (process android.process.acore) has stopped unexpectedly).
It crashes as soon as it is launched. Worse, because it is set as default launcher, it restarts when I "Force close" it and crashes again.
There is nothing I can do but to press the Force close button.
Can't do anything from computer because I can't turn on the USB debugging mode...
Any help?

Can you get to recovery or Download mode to reflash?
Today I faced the same situation on my Ideos Mobile which has Froyo 2.2 firmware. I went totally insane due to this and started to search on internet, how to hard reset Ideos... I didn't get the desired results. I actually installed the Ubuntu Theme for ADW Launcher and afterwards my mobile got looping on force close. And I wasn't able to access any application as the launcher wasn't accessible.
Solution: I just clicked on the search button on very right side of my mobile and typed settings on there, and to my surprise I was able to access the settings app... From there I navigated towards Application Settings and then uninstalled that UBUNTU theme that caused forced close loop on my Ideos. Try this and hope it would work for you. I have the similar situation before, boot loop after applying a theme.
if you cannot get into the download mode using key combination, you have to build a jig or buy one online just in case.

If you are able to get into the download mode, basically you just need to reflash to stock and start from there.
Go to data/app folder (find your adw launcher ex apps) then move to system/app folder see if that one will help.

I faced similar issue (after applying some new theme , ADW launcher crashed and no way to reset to default). I already solved the issue now and later come to this post so thought to help others.
Basically when ADW Launcher crashed, there is nothing bad yet to your phone and those are silly who do factory reset or flash rom. Actually you have everything and you just need to remove the newly installed theme so that original theme again come in to picture. Well, the point is how to do it when you can't acces anything.
The solution mentioned above works when you have search key using which you can go to settings. What if its not there? Note that if you have just applied there and ADW Launcher start crashing then you can again open settings by long press on some configured button (e.g. Home key) and select settings from recently launched apps. Well, in my case I actually restarted phone thinking it might change the situation but it made it worst as I can't access anything. Neither call nor mail, absolutely nothing.
Here is one hope. I saw that status bar still active and when I gave miss call to my mobile, I got it in status bar and then I could access my contacts. So I took benefit of that. I send mail to myself from my laptop with google play link to newly installed theme. When I got notification in status bar for new mail, i click on it to open my mail client, From there I click on google play link and my google play app open with that app with uninstall button. I simply clicked it and voilla !! It uninstalled new theme and I got default theme back. ADW Lancher now working perfactly.
I hope this might help others. Now I have configured some keys on my mobile to work as sortcut to settings so that in case something like this happen I can anytime access settings.

Thank you, this "email a link to the theme" tip helped me to solve the continuously crashing launcher problem.
Hi everybody,
if I plug (and also unplug) my LGO2x on the computer as mass storage I always get the message "The application LG Homescreen (process android.process.lghome) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
After pushing "Please try again" it works perfectly as mass storage, but why always these annoying popup?
Is there anybody outside with the same issue? If yes, how to solve?
THX in advance for your help.
I'm having the same issue.
Unfortunately I don't found a solution to solve it, yet.
Probably uninstalling the launher.apk or homescreen switcher.apk can solve it, but thats only a guess...
Perhaps I'll try it later..
I just solved my own problem. It was because of using ADW.Launcher. I uninstalled it and now I'm using LG Homescreen and no issues anymore.
But I don' like the LGH. Hoping for an updated ADW.Launcher compatible with the LGO2x.
Thanks anyway for your response.
I think every alternative launcher will cause this problem.
I'm running launcher pro+ as standard.
So we definately have to wait for updated launcher versions...
I erased the original LG Launcher.apk and the issue is gone.
YOU HAVE TO SET A ALTERNATIVE LAUNCHER (e.g. LAUNCHER PRO) AS STANDARD BEFORE YOU DO THIS!
Hi everyone, i'm having some issues with the phone.
Everytime i open the installed app list, both under settings or in the playstore, after a few seconds the stock launcher restarts and take me back to the home page. This is pretty annoying. I've seen that after a system reboot it all works fine, but after some time the problem is back.
Before i was also having some random launcher reboot, but i've solved them disabling the huawey theme manager app, but the ones when listing the installed app are still hunting me.
I've already tried to clear the caches but with no result.
I'm on stock 5.1.1 rooted rom.
Anyone else having this problem or has some clue on how to solve it?
I want to share this, in case someone else gets into the same bad spot. Perhaps it might help someone.
I unboxed my Nokia 8 this afternoon, and so far I'm impressed with the call quality and general build of the phone. All was going well, until I installed my favorite launcher (Nova Launcher Prime), and then I used a Nova Launcher backup file from another phone, which had been running Nougat. Then, I started getting this error: "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped". The screen would show this, flash off, flash on, show this, and repeat. The only action I could perform was to power off or restart. A few seconds after a restart, the problem recur.
This seems (based on reading random forum threads around the web) to have been a problem between Oreo and the "transparent notification bar" setting in Nova Launcher. I'm testing running Nova right now, without using the backup file from the old phone, and so far, so good. I did a factory reset of my phone, but you if anyone finds themselves in a similar fix, you can also try rebooting into Safe Mode and uninstalling Nova (or whatever app causes the error).
I am using Nova Launcher Prime and have transparency enabled. No errors at all. But I have set up everything from scratch.
GpoGoGo
Nova Launcher Prime works fine here after backing up from my Moto G5 Plus
Nova Launcher works fine here too. I've used Nova for a while and it's been my experience also that restoring a Nova backup from a previous phone can result in problems. Having said that, restoration on the same phone the backup has been made on has always worked flawlessly. If you start from scratch with Nova on a new phone (somewhat of a nuisance) all works well
Nova prime beta was the first thing I installed, great on Nougat and even better on Oreo.
No issues for me.
I imported a backup layout then tweaked it instead of new setup.

I've bad experience with any kind of backups (including Google backup) - always something goes wrong on any device.
I'll suggest you that when you migrating to new device just don't use any backups.
Back to topic.
I've transparent bar on (I think this is default setting) and no issues at all.
It's definitely backup fault.
I have recently started to have this issue, not sure if it is Nova causing it or something else.
I notice 2 things alongside the system crash -
Often when trying to open the camera app it will trigger the crash no matter if I have no apps open in history or 20 open.
When this happens the phone runs very hot and does not respond to anything, even the power button.
Occasionally the app draw will open (swipe up method) but not show any apps and I need to leave it for some time.
Right now I have uninstalled Nova and will use the stock launcher for a few days to test it, even though I really do not like the stock launcher as it has zero options to customise or use icon sets
I'll report back how the phone performs in the next few days but if anyone has any more info from their experiences it would be good.

I had problems with my Nova launcher. Used a backup from my old phone and then Nova made the battery drain very fast. Removed it and it's files then installed it again without the backup. Made a new config from scratch and now the battery is fine.
So far no issues with stock launcher or Microsoft launcher.
If it is still stable I will go for a fresh install of Nova in a couple of days.
