Which Nexus One do you have ("AT&T", "T-Mobile" version)? Does the same update.zip work for all versions?

UK version?
Ok I'm on EPE54B so I'm guessing thats the problem! God I suck!

I'm on the U.S version and I'm getting the same error. This blows......

Any fix here??? I'm getting the same thing... tried it twice and the same results. Stock N1 on ATT.

Are you sure the filename is not update.zip.zip? At least in windows it adds the .zip to it, so by naming it update.zip it will inadvertently get named update.zip.zip.

Think you need to be on ERE27 for it to work, anyhow I just installed AMON recovery again and flashed the MoDaCo version of Froyo.

How to get Non-Root FroYo working on Nexus One?

Hey everyone,
My boss at work just got a nexus one and I tried updating him to FroYo using the same method that worked on my phone. When trying to run it I get a message that states....

Anyone know what would cause this??
Does the phone have 2.1 update 1 installed already. Out of the box the N1 ships with 2.1.
Update to 2.1 update 1, then update to Froyo and it should work.
By chance do you have a link to 2.1.1 update?
Sorry just got the boss on my ass right now ....lol
I think this is what you're looking for. Ya might want to do a google search on the filename and just make sure though.

Are you using a deodexed ROM? If so, that update will not work for you.

[Q] "(Status 7) Installation aborted" when trying 2.3.4 via ClockworkMod. Help!

[Q] "(Status 7) Installation aborted" when trying 2.3.4 via ClockworkMod. Help!
Hi, I have stock 2.3.3 rooted, with a compatible overclock kernel, and radio 5.08. When I try to run the 2.3.4 update from within ClockworkMod recovery, I get:
Code:
Verifying current system...
assert failed: apply_patch_check("MTD:boot:2373632: ... <snip> ...")
E: Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
Please tell me what to do to avoid this and install the 2.3.4 update successfully?

It appears to mean that the test it's doing to determine if you're running a valid 2.3.3 installation is failing.
Probably because it can't find a file on your current setup that it is looking for.
You may get more info from the recovery.log (adb pull /tmp/recovery.log)
Or you may have to reinstall your 2.3.3 ROM (assuming it is complete) and repatch.

[Q] How to apply MIUI mods (4WayReboot, ES_MOD) on Milestone

I've tried G.O.T., AOR and MiniMod and they all fail to apply the update.zip:
Installing...
assert failed: is_mounted("/system")
E:Error in /sdcard/OpenRecovery/updates/<ModName>.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
Any hints are greatly appreciated
Edit:
OK - searching the miui-germany forums brought up bad news for me...
It seems like I have to either modify the .zips or inject the files within manually into /system/app and /system/framework
Annoying
