battery percent and 2.2 - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was wondering if there's an apk for adding the battery percent to my battery icon like in cyan
thanks in advance

There are actually lots of apps that do this, including several free ones. Just search for "battery" in the market. There's one called "battery indicator", for example.

No, don´t know any.

You can try the "BatteyLife" in Market, I'm using now.

I believe you're asking about the hack to the standard/system batt indicator, not a 3rd party extra indicator.
Unfortunately that's a system level hack (not a simple add-on), so no. There's no apk that can do it.
I was also bummed to be going back to a generic battery icon, so on peadarog's suggestion I found (and then bought it cause it's worth the $1) the Battery Indicator app.

thanks
thanks Namuna the battery indicator is good enough to get be by till cyan gets the source code from google and rolls out the premium roms lol and thanks for everyones answers as well

sorry to dig up an old thread but now the source code is out, has anyone been able to figure out how to put the true percent on the actual icon (not an app)?

You can bet...
Cyanogen-Kang-Bang-Douche´s are working on that.

im using a modaco mod (r19), and so far he hasnt put that battery percentage in there. Just wondering if there had been a update.zip that enabled this yet. Guess i will keep waiting and searching.

Looking for a nice LOCK SCREEN

I have rooted my phone and am using CyanogenMod 4.2.14.1
I was wondering if there are any interesting lock screens I could use. My criteria:
1. NOT the ones in the marketplace, have tried them out and don't really like any of them
2. FREE - this is a minor request and definitely not something I want to pay for (heck I've already paid $400 for the phone!!)
3. relatively easy to install. I managed to root my phone with SPL 1.76.007 which took a looong time and was difficult so I know my way around it. BUT, I am not willing to take any risks. I don't mind flashing something, but, that's probably the extent to which I want to take risks.
The screen itself:
1. Simple but with useful features, such as music changing ability, battery status, etc.
2. Some sort of password/lock code (not essential)
3. Background image
Thanks!
then stericson's lockscreen seems to be the one for you.

might have to dig around a bit to find the latest version
cmupdater
Have you looked the cmupdater themes? I am using the grey-white lockscreen and it is clean, sleek, and have gotten a lot of people wanting me to root their phones now....

I actually posted at the end of that because I wasn't sure what to do with the file I downloaded (for Cyanogen 4.2.14.1).
Can you help with that?

How do I get the themes? I'm actually using this in the themes directory (of cmupdater): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=592377 to update my kernel on my phone whenever CyanogenMod is updated.
So, where can I get themes from and which one would you recommend.

boot into recovery and flash it on top of your rom
Thanks it worked.
Are there any other options? This one isn't bad but it seems a bit useless to me. Bit odd that you have to press a button to see the battery when it's right there on top!

Nope that's pretty much it. I know hero and eclair roms have a different lockscreen but they don't work for 1.6 roms. Only other option is to flash a hero/eclair rom or get one from the market. If you want one like the iPhone then get lock 2.0. Its not half bad.
I like having the battery button on the lockscreen. The battery on top gives some indication as to howmuch battery you have left but I like knowing exactly how much life is left in my baby lol

Thanks for the response.
Not unhappy with this one per se, but, it just doesn't do it for me.
Lock 2.0 is actually pretty good but I'm in Singapore and I don't have access to the paid market (which in the long run is a good thing!) and the free version has too many restrictions. I can't even add a background.
My main thing is I want a nice clock and background and battery display. This Stericson one does all that but it just feels a bit "meh" to me. Not sure why, not blown away ...Guess I'll survive!
If anyone knows of anything (theme or lock screen) to spice things up do let me know!
email me [email protected]
Does anybody know of a theme or something to make the default lockscreen
transparent??
use lockbot on the market, its pretty good. theres a free version and its still good

Notification LED

Hi all,
Just purchased an OB and enjoying it. However one thing that bugs me is there's no external notification of emails, messages etc. You actually have to unlock the OB and look in the nofication bar.
I've searched the net any have not been able to find anything. Can anyone help me out?

LG 2X/Black/3D Notifications in market
i don't recommend this type of apps, it's drain battery.
I don't know if you have seen my post showing you a 5 day battery lasting with light use... with LG 2x/black/3d notifications installed and running...
Where do you see the battery drain?

This is using NOVA rom and your tweaks. How about for stock ROMs? Does it still drains battery?
I don't know, but the app is the same... If rom has bad battery life, it's a rom related problem.
Hi,
Can anyone try the LG Black Notifications (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125429) with the new CyanogenMod?
Thanks!
Can anyone try my last post?

[Q] New mysterious notification icon with 4.3

Hi all,
So this is probably the ultimate noob question, but a new icon has shown up in my notification bar with 4.3. I have no idea what it is doing there, other than taking up space. I've attached a picture in the hopes that someone can ID it. It's the squarish thing between the GPS and sound profile icons near the left.
Thanks!
Nfc.
Awesome, thanks. Sorry for the stupid question! Mods, feel free to delete this.
I think its funny....they add this icon to make people aware of NFC....my wife and I already disabled it so that we don't see that ugly thing.

Do you find it difficult to use NFC wth this phone? The EvoLTE was much easier i guess it's the internals and stuff
Hah, I just did the same. Takes up precious space up there. I guess I'll turn it on if I ever need to use it.
Oh man, they added the NFC icon? I loved the fact that I didn't remember it was on. Now I'm getting that ugly icon and a reminder that my battery could be 1% better... Thanks a bunch HTC...

Only used it once to play with it....never used it since. I was just the same as the EvoLTE, didn't see any real differences.

I really don't understand you very well. Anyway, if you talking about battery bar, the only one that can make that is this xposed module. I use it & works flawless.

Your phone needs to be rooted for that.
If you don't have a rooted device and you dont want to root it, you could try the following apps:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.calsto.omega.statusbar&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.firezenk.ssb&hl=en
I used these apps till I rooted my phone, then I started using the xposed mode which is way better.
Omega and Super Status Bar will take some time to start up after you turn on device, till then, you'll see your old status bar.

Well, today I do not feel like explaining what is. Simply read what a xposed modules (& xposed framework too) is & what you can do with them. If you think that is just one bkg app running, I assume you don't know what those are. So, read a little more (& learn more) & you will realize that xframework is a all new world of possibilities. Have fun learning new stuff & have a nice day
I understand that but expose is running in background

If your problem is about the battery, I can tell you that xpsd framework & xposd mods maybe drain your battery only 0,0000001%. A lot of other apps that you have running on background or not sucks even more, so...Use what you think is better for you & have a nice day

Find Screen On Time

So.... I feel absolutely stupid asking this question, but I've been on AOSP ROMs for the longest time, and just recently switched to a Sense ROM, and I'm looking for where I can find my Screen on time and just cannot for the life of me find it.... I've searched the web to no avail either....
So.... if someone could kindly let me know where I find this it would be great, I'll even accept the namecalling for such a dumb question... Especially from someone pursuing a degree in Math and Computer Science......

So there is no way to find exact screen on time? What I'm looking for is something similar to AOSP with an exact time of how much time the screen has been on during that battery cycle.
Yes look for betterbatterystat apk around here or I think gsam battery monitor in play store

Awesome thanks, that did it. Wish there was a native way to show screen on time, but I guess gsam will have to do.
Np, if u like to get a little more out of ur battery try to find the betterbatterystats apk floating around. Helps a lot with wakelocks and apps that drain. I like it a lot more than gsam. I'll try and dig it up and post it
