i cant get my bluetooth (jabra bt2070) to stream a2dp via my nexus one. it seems like i can only listen to phone calls.
but i know my bluetooth can support a2dp because i was always using it on my hd2.
anyone know what im doing wrong? i tried to search but nothing came up.
i am also using the froyo rom.. (i wasnt able to get it to work in the stock and cm rom either)
anyone with help?
no1 with any insight?
Jabra BT2070 is a mono bluetooth headset... I'm pretty sure it doesn't have A2DP capabilities... afaik (and I'm pretty sure I'm not wrong in this case) only bluetooth stereo headsets have A2DP and/or AVRCP profiles...
Got this of the BT2070 tech specs..
Code:
HeadSet Profile (HFP) : Yes
Handsfree Profile (HSP) : Yes
A2DP Profile (Stereo) : No
AVRCP Profile : No
There may phones which allow streaming to mono headsets, but the N1 definitely doesn't...
ahh ok, is there any other bluetooth that i can use that is known to be able to stream music for the nexus one then?
i was just wondering about this because it was working on my hd2 so lol
there are tons of them, do a search for any a2dp/avrcp devices
so something like this should work with the nexus one right?

Hi folks!
Is there some kind of step by step manual how to get to a working solution for the well known BlueAngel Problem with it's headset connections?
I found a thread talking about some registry tweaks, but that only enables the menu option to send the sounds to the headset, but finally doesn't produce any sounds...
What I want to have is the instructions, given by the Navigon Mobile Navigator 5 beeing transferred to a bluetooth device (a parrot free speach device or a logitech headset).
I am already running ROM 1.4 and tried all various BT versions, but nothing worked..
Thanks for your help,
Balu
err.. I am looking for using bluetooth headset to listen mp3 as well, any help and suggestions?
im trying to figure out how to do that aswell, (listen to media player using bluetooth on my SVP m2000)
me too is there any idea pls

You can listen mp3s if your headset supports advanced audio distribution profile and you have PDA2K_BroadcomCorp_BTUpdate.cab installed. But if your "advanced" headset does not support old profiles - you would not be able to use it to listen phone calls.
You CANNOT listen MP3s on normal headsets that support headset and hansdfree profiles. To use these headsets you have to sell PDA2K and buy PDA2.

Can you please provide the list of BT headsets (with make / model numbers) that supports this "advanced audio distribution profile"
ht820 does the job!
I have Motorola HT820 on Orange M2000.
The HT820 supports Hands-Free and High Quality Audio profiles and you can playback audio in stereo via the headphones.
I upgraded the BT stack to 3900 and radio to 1.13 and added the extra profiles (instructions are in the Wiki), and it appears to work as both .
When the phone rings, WMP pauses and the left headset button answers the phone. Once you finish the call and hang up, WMP starts playback again.
The only problem that I still have is with intermittent dropout of the High Quality Audio. Anyone got any clues on curing this?
Got mine for around £60 UK sterling.
Is this an hardware limitation? Is this a ROM limitation? BT stack problem?
GSM phone preempting BT handfree?
If not HW, can we expect an upcoming solution to this?
Or, the only "hard" workaround is to plug a BT adapter (like Jabra A210) to redirect mike/spkr, and to desactivate BA BT.
Christmas tree, like.

Registry
Hi again.
So, we didn't really find a solution yet?
I once read something about a little change to the registry, so that a second profile for the normal BT Headset appears.
I searched but I can't find it again.
does anyone know which post I mean?
If so, can you give me a link to that, because I believe that is the right way to solve the problem...
the key is if your source (pda or notebook) is running BT audio gateway. centrino notebooks supports audio gateway. I have a Jabra BT800 and listens to MP3s played from an HP DV1000 notebook but cannot have it working through my XDA II mini (the latter does not support BT audio gateway)

Is there a app that will allow music to play thru the Bluetooth in my car?
I have a stock radio that has bluetooth, I can make & receive calls in my car using the bluetooth. However I can NOT play music on my phone and hear it thru my car speakers.
Is there a app solution to this or something else to get this to work
TIA
I would love this...

I'm not understanding the question. Any music player on the G1 (with 1.5) can play music over AD2P through your car headunit. I do it all the time. I can also pause/play and track-forward/back using the headunit's controls.

Not all bluetooth devices support the a2dp profile, some just act as a headset, I've seen similar requests for people wanting audio streamed to a blue tooth headset that doesn't support a2dp either.
As long as your running 1.5 and the latest radio that goes with it, you should be able to get A2DP working without any other applications. Just pair up your car stereo with your phone and it should automatically detect the profile and start piping audio through.

Exactly, I believe my car stereo does NOT support A2DP. I have no problems playing/hearing music thru my Motorola HT820 or my PC.
As you can see (attachment)

Long press "Bluetooth Handsfree" and select options. Under profiles you should see a Media profile and it should be checked. If you do not see this, your stereo does not support A2DP.
edit: If your stereo has a line out jack, you can get something like this to make your system A2DP capable without buying a whole new stereo.

Thanks for the tip
I checked under options and it does not show a "Media" profile
My stereo does have a line out jack, but Im not sure I want to spend $100+ on a gadget.
Im hoping some bright app developer can make a app to some how trick my stereo into thinking its a call as my phone plays music
Wishful thinking? I think not, Im sure someone can make it work. I do remember when people said transfering files via Bluetooth was impossible! But now we can with Bluex.

Not possible. The way bluetooth works is that the both devices have to have the same profile in common to communicate with each other. Your phone supports it, your car stereo does not. With OBEX, other devices supported it but the phone did not. To get this working you would either need to hack your stereo to enable the A2DP profile, get a bluetooth gateway (like what I have) or get a new stereo receiver that supports A2DP out of the box.
From experience I can say that the gateway is the best option. I got mine on sale for under $50 at buy.com and it works beautifully. My phone automatically pairs with it when my car turns on and I can make/receive calls as well as listen to music no problem.

He already said other handsets support sending audio to BT devices that don't support A2DP, it's just a matter if the underlying Android OS supports sending audio streaming to non-A2DP devices, eg faking a phone call basically, or not. Or if it can easily be hacked in by someone.
I'm guessing this may require screwing about with the underlying OS code, an app alone may not be able to do it without OS support.
At least I understand the question better now You want an app developer to create something that allows the phone to make up for what's lacking in your headunit.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the "headset" profile mono by definition? Are you cool with giving up stereo and audio quality just to get your music over bluetooth to your headunit?
I won't say it's not possible. I've been wrong before on pronouncements like that. But app development is driven by need in the Android world (usually the developer's need first). I hope there's a big enough need that someone will help you out.

The same arguments are made about MP3 v lossless compression, and it turns out people do accept these sort of limitations after all
I don't know enough about the bluetooth standards to even know where to begin making such an app, and I don't plan to start reading up to find out
While not as cheap as a BT audio gateway option, but you can get an inline BT attachment to suit non-BT enabled car radios to support A2DP and for those of you still using phones to talk to others you can even use it as a hands free car kit which uses the car speaks...

I'm glad my unit already does this. But I never use it.
Its worse than just being mono... headset profile is actually a much lower quality... phone quality.
Bluetooth A2DP Audio Gateways
I've been trying to do the same thing as OP, except my stereo does NOT have bluetooth. It does have an aux in down by the cigarette lighter. I've been googling like a fool and researching available bluetooth gateways, thanks to the poster that pointed us towards that Kensington unit. I'm not willing to spend $100 US on this functionality. I have, however, found a nice little device I plan to pick up soon.
RIM Blackberry Bluetooth Audio Gateway
Check it out here: http://www.daydeal.com/product.php?productid=20932
Hope this helps OP and any others that may have similar issues.

anyway there's a long tread about 3.5 bluetooth dongle Here
I know it's old, but in case anyone stumbles on this thread, try btmono (an app on Google play) It puts audio through a mono headset such as that described above. Cheers
Can i listen to music with my headset?? When my HTC magic is connected with the headset i cant her music.... is there an app for this??
Well, the prob is that in some ROM's there's no a2dp support.. so you have to find a rom that suits the things you want and need

OR, it could have something to do with the fact that the BH-M200 is a mono Bluetooth headset with no A2DP support
Unlike some WinMo devices, I've not seen a way to route mono music over the headset profile, so you'll need to buy a new headset.

I have such a problem too.I bought BH M200 0nly for listening music when walking to work but unfortunately it did not support it.
I used this with Nokia E61 and it worked.
I used Ahen 6.5 n ROM and changed it to BsB 1 G.none of them worked.
If u find any solution please let me know.
Thanx.
Did anybody find solution to listen music by BH-M200?
I tested it with Nokia E61 and it supported but diamond with WM 6.5 Roms
(Ahen-n and BsB 1G) did not work.
I hope some1 find app.
I wish we could found a solution
I am in the same situation. Like you, I need a 2-in-1 earphone (music + communication) . But sadly I have tried and failed with almost every mono earphone. Except this Jabra BT8010, which is compatible with Bluetooth 2.0
http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-9673121-1.html
I wish someone will find out a workaround for the current mono earphone soon. In the meantime, I will look for some kind of software that can do the magic...
Hi guys,
I've just bought a new common Jabra blutooth and it works well on call, but I really want to know if there is a way to play music via my blutooth. I found that iPhone is able to play music via blutooth by jailbreaking, but I just can't get any helps from google and etc...
If somebody here knows the way, please tell me. Thanks a lot.
which model of Jabra did you buy?
only the Stereo version of Jabra will support A2DP and AVRP from Bluetooth to play audio, and remote control
working perfectly fine with my Jabra BT8010 and car stereo CZ509

It's BT125 sth...not sure, but it's cheap though. Anyway, I believe it can be used to play music
ya that headset doesn't support a2dp so i don't think its going to work.
I've got the Jabra BT620s - had them for a few years now, works great on the SGS, it supports A2DP & AVRP, when a call come in the phone pauses the music and the headphones switch to headset mode (ie phone mode).
Now the HTC had issues, some ROM worked Stereo, some worked headset, but I never had one which did both

i dont know where can i check that?
and interesting thing is that i paired that headset with Nokia 5030 i think who has Symbian OS and there it worked fine without problems
Yesterday i updated my phone to gingerbread but that didn't solve the problem maybe someone could suggest something?
There is no problem, you're trying to use a handsfree kit for something it's not designed to do. Get an A2DP headset.
but i know that some ppl cheated android and can use mono headset on phone but i just dunno how they did that so i just want to know how can i do that?
