Best alarm? - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

I'm looking for the best alarm (preferably free) for the Fuze. I need one that will allow me to use my mp3 songs as the alarm and I need to have multiple alarm times as well. Thanks

While its not free, I recommend SPB Time. I've been using it for years and have yet to find another alarm program that I like as much. Its worth the money and it does what you want.

G-Alarm is the best out there. There used to be a free version that worked. Search the forums for the thread. The new version is only a couple of bucks I think and is available on the marketplace.

i have this version of g alarm. might be old but its free
enjoy!

G-Alarm is by far the best alarm clock. Well worth the price.

thanks for the link, g-alarm is awesome. thinking about upgrading to the paid version.

Try Klaxon
It's very similar to G-Alarm, but easier to use in my opinion. And, it's free. Google the forum, it's here somewhere!

Thanks guys

Sk schema is the most versatile scheduler you'll find. It will do anything you can imagine.

Ahome Paid App Dissappearing.
*Solved*
The last day or two the ahome paid application has been going on and off the market for me. I was currently on the market planning to buy it and now it isn't shown again (it was there earlier today). Is anyone having this same problem or can any of you currently see it?
Thanks.
Once again the paid version, I can always see the free one.
I have adp1.1h
*Solution*: If you are having any problems buying or seeing paid apps I found that flashing with rc33 fixes this. Adp1.1h only works with some paid apps. (I love ahome)
I can still see the paid version, its $2.99
am running on Jf RC-33
I have yet to see the paid version =/
there is a paid version, i paid 2.99 and it works great, one of the best apps on the market
What are the extra features in the paid version
i couldnt tell you , i never seen the free version
could you download the free one and compare for us cheep people

As of now there are basically no differences, but I purchased it for two reasons.
1. It will increase in price in a week.
2. The free version stops getting any updates except bug fixes as of two days ago.
The subtle changes that have been made so far can be found in the description of the app in the market.

While in market home click on Applications->All Applications->Menu->Change View->Priced items only.
If that shows paid apps, thats good.
aHome no-launchy
So I've been using aHome for a few days and last night an update to the paid program came down the pipe. Installed it and now the program will not launch. If the DEV is listening, what up?
Edit: Problem solved... Damn default was set on original home program. All better now...
Sorry to hear of your troubles, but I dont know if its a problem with ahome. I have the most recent updates as well and mine runs perfectly.
aHome and Cupcake image issues?
I'm on the HtC build for cupcake at the moment and I just update aHome to the lastest version that has aHome cupcake. Everything is running find except the music widget has a graphical glitch. The image for the music widget is shown twice with the second one overlayed the first at center. When in landscape mode its fine except the end is shown overlayed by a second image of the music widget. I dunno if this is becase aHome cupcake is made for the G version instead of the H version? I emailed mappn makers of aHome but they never respond.
I was wondering if anybody is having this issue as well with H or G version of cupcake.
ahome now cupcake compatible!!
It allows you to install a different version and all the widgets work.
Awesome stuff
I noticed the same thing with open home.
sorry for being such a noob,
but does anyone wanna send me the .apk file?
Thanks.
its a paid app, and theres a demo one for free :]
i hate how it says.

Which Twitter App is the Best ?

Which is the best Twitter App for Android ?
Cuz i've been using Twidroid but it replys like From Twidroid, not in a reply to someone .
So which one is the best ? i want one that replys the tweet from a user .
twidroid ( the best we got as of now...)
i like twidget the best
IMO iTweet is the best then twidroid after that.
I get all my updates and has all the features you need in a tweeter app.
but if you dont want to buy one I would go with twidroid.

iTweet
Hands down the best, at the moment.
I wish we had a reliable widget. I've tried Twidget numberous times, but it failed to update properly. Maybe they've got it fixed by now. If so, Twidget was showing lots of promise.
Twit2Go FTW
I discovered Twit2Go when I was looking for a Twitter app, and really really like it. It's very lightweight (compared to things like Twitteride and Twidroid), and a nice Android UI (unlike ITweet, for example), and has all the usual goodies (TinyURL support, reply/DM notifications, etc.).
Strongly recommend giving it a try.
HTC Peep Lol or Itweet if you want to pay. Twidroid = best free twitter app no doubt.
I like Twitterride because it's the only one I could find that would distinguish new tweets from old.
I prefer Twidroid myself.
itweet is the best one
i tried iTweet and i like it im gonna keep using the 3 for a few days and decide, thx guys cuz i didnt know this iTweet app .
Twidroid is nice, but sometimes it shows tweets from months ago. No idea why.
ITweet FTW!!!
should have made this a poll....
If i could get peep i would on a non Hero, however i use TwitterRide , use to use Twidroid however never would update on its own i woudl have to click refresh. TwitterRide is getting like this now, wish i could find one that would update every 5-10 mins on its own. . . . . . .
Twidroid.
Best twitter client hands down.
I gotta give my vote to Twidroid. Amazing app. I used Twidget for a while, because it's one of the few that actually constantly update (it runs in the background, like Twidroid has the option to) and is nice and lite. Twidroid then picks up everything else as a fully-functional Twitter client. I like it better than the Twitter homepage itself!

That's basically how I see them too.. Twidget is an awesome lightweight client for keeping up. I also do most updates from it. I have Twidroid installed but not configured for background checking so I can use it when needed for photo posting, DMs, etc. Both excellent apps, just different strengths.

Decent GEOCACHING app

I just replaced the Tilt 2 with an Aria. So far I love it. Its WAY smoother and more stable then the windows mobile platforms ive been using for years now.
Ive been looking around and ive found everything I need (took me forever to figure out the linked contacts thing) except for a decent geocaching app. The tilt had GcZII by Nicque whic was fantastic. Anyone have any recommendations?
maverick pro seems like it's going to suit your needs very well. I've played around with it and it has a lot of features. I personally have never geocached yet so I can't be 100% certain, but I would have to say, that's what this program is more than likely made for. Oh and it worked awesome on the aria!

Did you happen to notice if it integrates with geocaching.com? Ill check it later on, just wondering.
It appears to have a lot to do with whether or not you are subscribed to geocaching premium. I'd love to see a breakdown of existing free and paid geocaching apps, but i don't have time to test them all myself. let me know if you find a good one.
Well, Ive been thinking of becoming a premium member. But GcZii worked SO well for free. I guess Ill just keep looking. Got swype working today, man does it make typing VASTLY easier.
I setup Geohunter last night. It's free. It integrates with Bcaching, which in turn integrates with geocaching.com. you can set up auto queries on geocaching.com which get sent to Bcaching. the app then syncs with Bcaching. it has a google maps view for seeign all in your area, details on specific cahces, and a compas screen to guide you. GeoBeagle is amost identicle, but i think made by the people from Bcaching.
geocaching
Hey I just wanted to let you know that I've been using a geocaching app called "c:geo" This app is frequently being updated and I have tried many many apps and found this one to be the best. You never have to leave the app, it is all self contained. Hope it helps!
Thanks for the c:geo tip. I already like it way better than the previous tip.
Looked at cgeo, not overly impressed. It requires you to jump between programs. the direct integration with geocaching.com is nice, but it's clunky to get to navigation. Geohunter lets you jump from list to map to compass to cache details all within the program. The linking process with the website is a little convoluted, but works well when set up. Just my opinion.
Played around with c:geo today. Lots of crashes from the live map. But altogether usable. I would give it 3 out of 5 for being free.

I've tried a bunch.. Geohunter, Geobeagle, c:geo, Cachemate, and the winner is GeOrg.
It has a bcaching connector or can parse GPX files insanely fast.. And if you have the SDK up, you can even compile his unofficial geocaching connector, but it's not quite kosher so he doesn't provide it in binary form.
It's an awesome program, has a lot of function and works great. He's real responsible to feedback, even working on adding the ability to use a Bluetooth GPS to it.
c:geo is okay, but it's very slow to load up "nearby" caches, takes forever to save those caches, has no facility to return to the last list of caches (!?!), and turns up the brightness to 100% with black-on-white screen for the compass, which is impossible to use at night. Otherwise, I keep it around in case I'm "off the grid" and don't have PQ's for where I am.
I use a combination of GeOrg (preferred) and the "official" geocaching app from groundspeak. Both are paid apps.
Of the two, GeOrg is my favourite if I'm within the areas that my pocket queries cover. The native geocaching app makes it easier to just search and go if I'm outside of those areas, plus lets me log directly on the site instead of via field notes.
The free ones had various issues and quirks that I didn't care to learn how to work around.

money managing app

does anyone know of a top money managing app that does NOT ask for my bank/credit accounts? i want basically an offline to manually add myself the amounts. i had http://www.ascendo-inc.com/Money.html for the longest time on my blackberry and still use the desktop version but cant sync it to my android because its not made for android. im looking for a replacement that is basically the same thing. would be a great bonus if it has a desktop version also! the market has really failed for me in categorizing and sorting and i have had way better results by asking the users here.
Its called EasyMoney. Great UI and a ton of functionality.
The dev is responsive and he promised me the features i requested.
Its $10. You can purchase a license through paypal if you don't have access to paid apps. The price might sound a little high, but trust me, its well worth it.
Unlimited accounts with what ever currency you want, transfer between accounts, recursive transactions, graphs and so on.\
A 10 day trial is available i think. Go for that at first.
ok for that price its way better then 30 and addtional 10 for updates on my old blackberry. will try them and hope they can provide a desktop client in the future. thanks for the reply!

SPB SHELL?

is there a free working version of this? Thanks.
There is if you look around but honestly its not that good..
Try Regina 3D Launcher. I've seen/heard 50-50 reviews on it being comparible to Mobile Shell 3D and it's free.

Launcher Pro is a good launcher, ADW Ex is popular as well. You just need to browse around and find the best replacement launcher for you.
Define "better keyboard". What makes a keyboard better to you? I like Swype. I've also heard good things about SwiftKey is good as well - but the cost is $2.
I don't think spb is a great launcher anyway. It has nice looking features but they don't work too good. The weather looks nice but is always way off. It uses old forecasts to tell current weather. And it doesn't seem to know Washington dc exists.
Sent from my ThunderBolt using XDA Premium App
I tried Spd Mobile shell and noticed alot of battery drain guessing from all the widgets it's packed with. It was cool visually but wasn't for me.. i'll stick with my launcher pro but for something free Regina is pretty cool too it has that itunes cover flow feel.
I used a previous version of SPB Mobile Shell on Windows Mobile 6.1, it was a great app for the limited UI in Windows Mobile. It is certainly not a must have for Android, with so many good / great launchers including good old Sense, Launcher Pro, ADW and GO Launcher (among others). I have used all of these and the differences you have to try. A cute UI that I tried recently was Spark .. free but not for me, cool views though.
*SIGH*
Anyone here actually USE SPB Shell 3D? No, there's not a free version and no it's not cheap. But it DOES take 4x4 widgets to a whole new level. It takes a while to boot up when my phone starts up but once its up it's been running fine. With the new BAMF GB lockscreen and SPB Shell my phone is just SICK! I've tried to go back, but I've gotten used to its deliciousness (and it DOES wow everyone I've showed it to) and with each upgrade it gets better.
There's a reason that OVER 9000! people have given it good ratings on the Market....

Yup I think I'd give it a good rating too if I were foolish enough to spend $15.00 on a home replacement that slows the phone down and doesn't really do anything special that can't be had cheaper elsewhere. You know, just to make myself feel better.
(edit)Yes I have tried it before you ask.
There's always a free version of everything, if you're willing to look for two minutes.
That being said, I didn't find it useful enough to buy, especially for 15 dollars. Rather donate it to the BAMF guys. Battery drain, and the novelty wore off quick.
Favorite keyboards:
Swiftkey
FlexT9 (swype, but better)
If you don't want to buy a keyboard, the gingerbread keyboard is pretty darn good.
Thanks for such insight!

So you spent 15 dollars and yet didn't succumb to the "feel better"? Wow, the force is strong within you!
Because I haven't complained about SPB in a review and followed up with another review saying it wasn't ready for prime time (at the time). You're so right. Gosh, you must be like Miss Chleo or something.
No added functionality? I guess it depends on the user. I've found:
1. The carousel isn't like anything out there. The free alternative doesn't have the same functionality/ease of use. I find it especially handy for easy access to widget screens that are 8 screens back. I don't have to cycle through them.
2. Beautiful 4x4 custom widgets. I've not had the problems with the weather widget. It's especially handy when looking for the 5 day outlook quickly. And the calendar widget is fantastic too. It's pretty and functional.
3. Ability to add screens on the fly (up to 16)
SPB Shell lags on boot/first use, but I've had no slowing of my phone in daily use after boot. The problems I experienced before were problems that have been fixed since my second follow up review.
And have I mentioned it's absolutely beautiful?
But you're right and those 9000 fools (and Google, who showed off SPB Shell in their booth last year at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona) are just sore. Couldn't be the oohs and ahhhs I got from people looking at my phone. It couldn't be both the increased functionality and aesthetic beauty of the custom widgets. It's all because they're upset they spent so much on it. Thanks on your comment. It's changed my life and I am now in perfect agreement with you.

Free? I think the word you're looking for is stolen/warez. You're "free" to steal it. But there's no "free" version of it in the market.

I've had absolutely zero battery improvement when I've used Launcherpro or stock over SPB. But you can't upgrade apkwarez, can you?
Everything is relative. I like things that are functional and pretty. SPB is both. And just a quick note, donating to the BAMF guys isn't against the rules if you buy SPB...you can do both.
I think SPB is neck and neck with Sense. They're both great looking, fast, and functional. If my phone didn't have sense I would use SPB all the time.
As for keyboards, I was able to get FlexT9 when it was free from Amazon and its awesome.
I bought SPB and I have mixed feelings about it. Yes it's great and it's fast... when it's loaded. I don't use a task killer but it seems that often when I unlock my phone, it needs to reload part of the launcher and that adds a delay that I don't like.
I'm also not impressed at the development. They did add one new 3D widget for birthdays but it never works well for me, it's always missing some people and the people I see change every time I reboot.
It has a lot of potential, I just hope that the devs won't take the money they have now and leave the launcher stagnant.
I have been running SPB Shell 3D for several days, I have no lag, no battery drain (not any worse than running on just Sense, and better than GB rom) I have it fully configured with my own weather app etc. I really find this app to be pretty cool, it works and I have not had crashes or anything else yet with it.

Don't take it so personal, I happen to think that spending 15 on spb is foolish, my opinion should really not have garnered such a response from you, you didn't develop the program right. But you are a hell of a defender I'll give you that.
To clarify, I'm sure this was the best thing since sliced bread on winmo but as was stated above there are many many options for launchers on android. I have spent >$15.00 on the different launchers out there, does that make me a fool, probably because I was happy with the first one I purchased. But you know I don't feel too bad in this case because I think the people who got my money deserve it. Anyways I'm done, sorry if I upset you.
I might be mistaken but i remember reading there was a free alternative to SPB Shell that had many similar features. Can't remember the name, though.
