ok I updated from CM 5.06 to froyo by downloading ere27 from rom manager and installing the froyo ota.
After I had froyo installed i lost root and custom recovery. So I tried using superboot to restore root so i could flash a custom recovery.
After using superboot my phone now randomly restarts, has no service, can pull down the notification bar and when my phone does boot up i get an error message the says system process not responding.
Anyone able to help me out please, I'd greatly appreciate it.

What i did was i flash the ere27 I downloaded from rom manager and then applied it through the gui and then flashed the froyo update through recovery.
I have froyo now but I lost my root along with custom recovery. How do I get my root back?
I tried to flash RA recovery and i get an error saying can not load. I'm lost and have no more ideas as to how to gain root.

Im having the same problem.. I've re flashed & rooted my phone from superboot in the process I've seen strange things happen.. Like home key not functioning & power button.. LOL.. I don't even have a recovery image once i upgrade to 2.2... the first time i installed 2.2 using Cyanogen advice everything went flawlessly I was even able to flash his kernel mod to get super user permission... Steps took: Rom manger used to flash ere27 and then stock 2.2.. I dam near bricked my phone making changes to my build.props to enable viewing of protected apps... Now I'm stuck on stock froyo with an outdated slow market place version 1.82
Hi,
I thoroughly searched this forum, other forums, and google.. with no luck on resolving my issue.
The Problem:
I "successfully" flash amon_ra's custom recovery, cyanogen's version of the ra recovery, and other custom recovery images through fastboot.. I get the OKAY on both reading and writing (i think that is what it says) from the command prompt in fastboot.. but when I reboot the phone to actually use them.. it always defaults to the stock android recovery.
My bootloader is unlocked
I tried flashing while running FRF72 non-rooted
I tried flashing FRF72 rooted via superuser unlock from MoDaCo
I tried flasing with MoDaCo custom ROM r18 based on FRF72
No luck.
The ONLY way that I can ever get to a custom recovery is by using clockwork's app, loading the custom recovery through the app, and then rebooting into recovery via the app. This will only work on the initial reboot. If I try to reboot into recovery from the app after having restarted, it will go to the little android and I have to use vol up and hit power at the same time. At that point, I would have to re-flash the custom recovery through the app, and then reboot via the app again.
Is this just a FRF72 problem? Has anyone else experienced this?? And is there a fix for this? I am terrified to do anything to my phone because I worry about being able to get to my nandroid backups in the event of a problem.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!
Anyone have any suggestions??
i cant get this to work either idk why.. But yeah i would love help with this also..

Hi, I have a uk vodafone nexus one with stock 2.2.1 frg83d. I have been trying to update to stock gingerbread via frg83g without any luck. I used super one click to root my phone and have unlocked the bootloader. The problem is every time I try to flash a different rom frg83g, gingerbread or cm 6.1.1, it says that the update was ok and goes to the reboot screen, but when I reboot it just hangs at the boot animation screen. Am I missing something? any help much appreciated.
On just about any custom ROM page it clearly says:
WIPE EVERYTHING before installing.
ClockworkMod: An error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands.
i've tried everything...that i know of or have read of so far...
i just cant get cwm to install
d1 rooted and unrooted thru super one click and z4root, rom manager uninstalled and redownloaded and reinstalled, wifi connected or 3g
su is current and shows list of other apps, tried permisions fix in rom manager too, just stuck w/ that same lousy error and cant install any roms...
some one please help me!!

You prolly fixed this already but in case someone else has this issue. Try installing Busybox from the market.
Same issue and won't boot into clockworkmod recovery

I rooted my phone with eclair installed and used clockworkmod recovery with no issues until I one day wanted to go back to stock and attempted a restore of the backup I made right before flashing the OverStock ROM. The phone wouldn't boot, so finally got the Overstock to go back. Phone worked fine for the most part, but from then on to get into recovery mode, required shutting down and using button presses (Up/down vol/PWR button) and it would go in fine. Could never get Clockworkmod to go into recovery mode with a click. Saw that (finally) Samsung has published a Froyo update, so took back to stock eclair using ODIN3 so I could use Kies mini to update. Did a factory reset to remove all old info directories and data. Update went perfect, but want the option to use the rooted apps (Titanium backup and ClockworkMod--purchased apps) to play with my phone as I see fit. Used SuperOneClick to root phone and verified I can get superuser with using terminal emulator, successfully executing "su" command. Problem is I can't get into CWM recovery. Only get "Android system recovery <3e>". Tried uninstalling CWM and reinstalling. Re-Flashed CWM recovery and it lists version 2.5.1.2 as current and latest.
I obviously need CWM recovery to flash different ROMS, but wanted a current backup before starting. Can't get any further until I figure this out. Any help would be appreciated. I was a noob, just a month ago, but was feeling pretty confident until this happened. Guess I'm still a noob, but just a little more dangerous now. Thanks in advance.
Just noticed that I wasn't in a phone specific thread, so here's my phone details... Samsung Vibrant (T-Mobile).
CWM issues with Milestone
In the last update of the RomManager was added support for version ClockWorkMod 3.x for Milestone - but still unable to use the CWM as standard recovery.
Using another recovery as OR1.4 you can start CMW from the SD card - but that does not solve the problem of RomManager stay with completely limited functions.
The Rom Manager is having updates constantly and I think we have a working version for Milestone soon - but in part I'm upset to see that the Milestone is listed as a supported device - when in fact it is not.
I bought the full version of Rom Manager because I believe it is a great tool and I hope someday I can use all its functions.
I have the same problem. I use OpenRecovery for Sholes to do those things. I hope we can use those tools like a normal user even a day.
