It was a night unlike any other day,
I was standing on the edge of the cliff hugging the sunset - it kicked me in the head at about 40dB and asked me to leave her be so that she can finish her shift but alas, the moon stood her up.
I turned and walked in reverse. I fell. I fell again. I fell again. I was sick of falling so I got up when suddenly I felt myself surrounded. I felt right.
2 VR6 dogs, one brown, one left started negotiating with me a monologue and when they were done, they started running towards me with an ambition never seen that night. they worked on me for a few hours to think they're dogs. their work yielded my bones.
The cliff drew me towards itself. I pulled back but found it was charged with attractivity and i stayed hanging on it's lip. it screamed. I realized that David Copperfield is dead for a while now thus he cannot help me up.. and besides.. he's an asshole.
I grabbed the tongue of a mexican eggplant passing in its car at the same moment. assuming I prefered to stay alive, I decided to claim my innocence and ask the honorable eggplant to lift me up not foreseeing any dagner since an eggplant as all eggplants, is mute. Murphey decided to prove me wrong and the eggplant asked for a cigarette. to my surprise, I fell down.
Death was quick and insensitive, it cursed my existance in every possible way until i bled diet cola.
I returned to my home petit, and sprained my ankle. It hurt. As i sat to eat breakslow, my brain figured out that a mechanical catalogization of the day's happenings will certainly be preceived as a routine incident of prehistorical philanthropy and so, I will save the world. I sew a custome. returning to the cliff, I triple jumped from the cliff for inspiration but found that I am not strong enough as to flap my hands so to keep me in the air for more than a few moments and I banged my head on a sharp rock which calibrated its position to hit my brain a few moments before i landed.
A cornslice came out of an unhomogeneous door, stroke me a niner and lost itself to death.. poor corn.
spunked up, my decision to finish the day was fatal to my socks. I fell asleep to death.

I didnt know mescaline was still popular. I once puked whole sheets of plywood.

I was supposed to eat that pill? I gave it away as candy on halloween! I guess I live in a bad neighborhood so no harm done, right?

i think its called The Story to End All Stories for Harlan Ellison’s Anthology Dangerous Visions and its from Volume V, The Little Black Box of his collected stories.
its basically about two he shes in space having a baby then fighting over it so one of them eats it up then they realise it was god

wow. I think i'm going to rewrite his story about that and post it here. sounds like a magical story.

clearly you guys have gone crazier than I have. so to reclaim my insanitfy i'll post another story i wrote like 6 years ago.

The indian guy who didn't know why (biblical story)
it was 8:00 pm, and it was green
I leaped over to the window to watch a game of EarBall between 2eggplants who tried kick one another in the ear while the "babbit rabbit" ate one of them but the blinds were closed and I couldn't see anything.
I could not ignore the fact that by using an RPG you can just lift the blind and his sister but due the a short workday in radioactive cornflakes factory I gave up the sportive activity required to perform the action.
Even tho it was summer, it wasn't cold. on the contrary, i WAS cold. I went out to the garden to find a best viewing angle but the eggplants were already gone and "babbit rabbit" died from an epileptic siezure due to stamp overlicking.
I wore my underwear, went outside, and back in. I was sick of being inside all day so I came back in and went down to the attic to sort my collection of beans. one bean attacked me with a dropkick to the left brow but i managed to contain it by injecting 6 litres of cyanide to its left lobe. it screamed for help but there was no one there. Yossi died.
As i was sorting my beans by name, i felt a pat on my shoulder. I turned 360 degrees and saw exactly what i was seeing before. I thought that this might've been a defected calculation and maybe 520 more degrees are required... when suddenly, i saw it. a big head with nothing underneath was looking at me through glittering eyes with a huge nose, 2 eyebrows connected by a safety pin and 2 chin dimples.
the glittering eyes with the huge nose turned to me and asked: "who's boy are you?!"
I responded.
This was face traumatizing. since then, i do not go down to the attic anyless to sort beans by name - only by format (bean.exe.. and so forth)..

[App] Stop Smoking

I have developed my first app. Its just a couple pictures: one for landscape and one for portrait mode It shows a Healthy Lung then shows a Smokers Lung with 1800 number
I know it isn't much but I am NOT a developer but a Graphic Designer screwing around with Eclipse...lol

You know smoking is wrong and by looking at how mad you got, I can bet you are one of those who throw that unhealthy, smelly , breath-cutting smoke to other people's faces and smokes around sick people and children just for the sake of I dont even know... Smoking not only kills you, if it doesn't, it ALWAYS causes people to smell bad, sort of like u died, got putrefacted and then u were brought to life... (you dont notice that cause u already got used to stink like that) plus yellow teeth that noone likes to see..and awfully bad breath..enough reasons to which u and any smoker should consider to stop smoking

To change your life, you have to struggle. Just do what you can do for you to stop smoking. Try not to rely on commercial products that attempt to solve this issue such as gums, sprays or patches. Stopping smoking is a decision made by your heart and mind and not by pressure.
Think of what quality of life you can get if you stop smoking, of course it is much better than the quality of life of a smoker which ultimately would lead to nothingness. Make your life meaningful and quit smoking.

Ok first off i want to say i don't smoke but wait don't flame me yet...
Second i swear to god i can't stand all these stop smoking laws. I actually miss the smell of smoke. ok not in morning when waking up but i like it call me weird. And for all those who they b!tch about you should stop in public just do what i did. Tell them fine ill smoke since you don't want cancer but you need to leave i don't want my eye blinded by having to look at you.

i gotta say, i smoke a lot, but i am usually pretty polite about it, if i go out to eat and happen to go to a bar(the only place that still allows smoking) then i am going to smoke, if you(non-smoker) come over into my area though and complain about my smoke bugging you or ask me to stop smoking, i will make it a point to blow as much smoke in your face as possible, i will chain smoke a pack just to blow the smoke on you. on the other hand, if i happen to sit near a non smoker i will find a different place to sit. smokers and non smokers should live in harmony, and i do not think it is right that most every state has some stupid law now about smoking. in chicago you can't smoke within 15 feet of a building, not just the door but the building itself, they want you to stand in the middle of the road to smoke now(and they are trying to ban smoking in cars)

Your thoughts on my short film

Hey guys, I would love to hear your opinions on my short film that i've made. This is my 2nd short film including my student short film from last year.
We spent about $300 for the whole short film, pre-production to completion. We didn't have much money to make the movie to begin with, so we went in and hoped for the best. The crew was very small too, but I guess we have to start somewhere
I encountered many problems, which you'd expect for such a low budget short film (especially actors), but I've learnt from those mistakes as I begin writing my next short film and hope for a much better output for the next one.
We got busted by the police for the traffic light scene with helicopters and all, but they were nice enough to let us go.

Sounds like you had some fun doing that! I would watch it, but I have to watch my download use for the rest of January... 10 days and we have used up 3/5 of our quota... and the movie file size is about 350mb I think it says, so tomorrow morning (off-peak ;D). Looks rather professional in the very first part!

It was very challenging, especially shooting the whole film guerrilla style with no permission from the council, but I guess that's half the fun

after purgatory folks end up in heaven but the ending story isnt what id call heaven

That's more than half the fun! I have had some friends make very very short films, one of them they dressed up as a yeti and walked around the local streets So many cars stopped! I think one even started chasing them... still good times. I'll do my best in helping you with advice etc!

Well, firstly, you have a great camera-man! Those panning shots were smooth and I didn't see much if any shuddering etc. The focus is great, works especially well with the lights in the night, gives it some visual depth.
Music was soft and helpful for meaning in some scenes, and that keychain/locket was a good symbol for realising which car it was.
The actors weren't that bad in my opinion, way better than anything I could ever do Like others have said, it's more professional than I was expecting! The storyline was a bit confusing at times (or maybe it was me...) but I guess there's only so much you can fit into 16 minutes, so well done there.
Great job overall, keep up the good work! 'Liked' Maybe you should consider entering it somewhere, I'm not sure what's on in Sydney but it's worth a shot.

It's related to his past and the continued mental suffering he had every night. Especially the hallucinations caused by the pills he took to calm his anxiety attacks, which he didn't know were caused by the pills and was always stuck in this loop of events that haunted him, which is why the ending when Sandra's mother takes the pills from him, he is now able to deal with the past better because of the truth but also because the pills aren't there to bring back those hallucinations anymore to play with his mind again.

Haha, I would've loved to see that!!
The one other thing I have to mention about this movie was the fact that the main character didn't know how to drive a car properly, he was very very bad actually. 'Smoke and mirrors' made him look like a very good driver in the end.

We got busted by the cops because we had one car sit in the middle of the road high beaming the main characters car (when his face lights up as the other car speeds up towards him). This was around 11pm and the neighbours probably thought were doing something illegal like preparing for a drag race (we were beaming each other for 10 minutes) All of a sudden the ground illuminates and we look up and see a helicopter shining a light towards us, a minute later police arrive :\
The story was confusing at times but I made it so you essentially had to look back at even the subtle stuff he did, such as taking the pills then immediately after seeing the ghost car and girl to get a drift of the story.
To ease the confusion a bit for everyone, he was chasing himself. I left it open in one of the sections when Sandra reveals her name. In the story the character say's he doesn't know her however if the pills were causing only hallucinations, then how does he know he name. I left this part open for the audience to think for themselves. Did he know her name because of her death being mentioned at school but had completely forgotten about her until that night when he finally chases his own car and meets the girl or was she really a ghost who came down to tell him the truth about her actions.
The story was too complex for a short film but I think it was only after seeing so many simple linear short films that I wanted to take a different approach.
About entering it into festivals. I'm worried that the film isn't "good enough" yet to be shown at film festivals because of the small problems here and there. I'm trying to create a short film that really stands out at the film festivals and I personally don't believe this film is there yet.

Yeah I noticed that, but I couldn't do anything about it because by the time the other car turns left, it doesn't leave much room to fit in that shot and to give it the same kind of impact. I wanted to cut on the action of the main character turning left to the motion of the car but unfortunately the street lights caused a shadow. In the end, it was a very small problem that I couldn't to cut out because the content of the material was more important than the shadow appearing.

That would be an experience! You should tell that story at parties and stuff But I guess if I was one of the neighbours I would be a little worried... still at least you got off safe!

Believe it or not, that single traffic light scene was the hardest part of the whole film. We were running against the time especially having to deal with a public road and waiting for the road to clear on both sides for the other car to drive straight through... oh my goodness, what a nightmare hehe.

Thanks hehe, yeah the plot appears to jump here and there but hopefully if the viewers pay attention to the small stuff that happen, then maybe the bigger picture makes more sense.

We could move things thinking of it alone.We were moving continents, shaping the oceans, mountains.. etc... then I was assigned a task. I observed this one coral for ten millions years! my job was to observe and note everything about it. The coral turned into a precious stone. I felt the passage of millions of years, but felt not tired hungry or the need to sleep. I just stood there taking notes.

I was flying off the African coast when our plane crashed and I ended up in a life raft with some others, just as we saw the nukes hit.
We had a choice, either try to swim down below the flames/heat and hope to live but probably end up drowning, or stay at the surface for as long as possible and have a quicker death.
I chose the latter, and I remember trying to swim up to the surface after the raft was obliterated, and seeing the bones in my right arm.
Then everything went dark.
I was then in something like an underground abattoir, wearing a blood soaked rubber apron, huge meat cleavers and other nasty looking surgical implements were hanging up, and I had no control of my body, like I was undead.

One dream I had sometime ago:
There were 7 obelisks floating high up in the heavens. These obelisks represented the 7 major religions of earth. And miles way was a huge generic temple that encompassed my entire field of view. All of a sudden I heard 3 loud bell gongs that shook me to the depths of my soul (an apocalyptic kind of feel to the whole thing), and the 7 obelisks came crashing down on the temple destroying everything. Our view of God was flawed so our belief system was done away with. Now God was ready to present himself to us.

I just generally tend to fail in my dreams. Dream about being able to fly...fail to take off. About to get down and dirty with a hot girl...wake up.

I remember i got a call from a friend:
(F = Friend, M = Me)
F - Dude where are you?!
M - I'm at my place. What?
F - What?! I'm waiting for you down the road in my Mustang, come!
M - I'm sorry, what?
F - Come and meet me!
M - What the hell are you talking about?
*Silence*
F - Oh crap, i just talked in my sleep. Yeah.... I'm at home.
I also remember crashing at his place after an alcoholic night, and when i woke up i turned around and saw that he had a lighter in his mouth, so i poked him and asked what the hell he was doing, and then he said "What? Ooooh, i dreamt that i was eating candy".

Danielle can be hilarious if she falls asleep on the sofa before we go up to bed.
She'll "wake up" and brush her teeth, tell me something like "have you authorised that file. For the unicorn. The file, you know, what Val said."
And I have to try and keep a straight face (difficult as she's so cute) otherwise she gets frustrated.
I once caught her putting her glasses in the dishwasher, not drinking glasses, spectacles!

I became quite good at starting it, but never succeeded in keeping it going. I was so into it at one point that I quite regularly realised that things in my dreams were obviously not real and therefore I was dreaming. I usually start flying and wake up a couple of seconds later, really excited. I think adrenaline kicks in with the excitement and it's too much for me to stay asleep
Apparently, spinning on the spot is good for not waking you up and once you've been doing that for a while you should have calmed enough to take full advantage of the situation.
How about you Dirk - have you had any luck?

I tried for a while without success. Everything you're supposed to do as you fall asleep would only keep me awake!
I used to have terrible trouble falling asleep when i was younger though. Brain would just go into overdrive to the point where i would spin out with it all and have to get up again to calm down! It took some time but i trained myself to counter that and now i can fall asleep instantly using my 'method' (TM)

There's a name for that but for the life of me i can't remember what it is. Reminds me of Inception though!
Some say that the bad things that happen in dreams are your brains way of preparing you for the bad things that might happen while you're awake. Systematic desensitization if you like. I wonder if there's any truth in that?

Flash mob robbery!!!

Just wanted to make sure everyone here is up to date on flash mob robberies, they are halarious, if you dont know about them yet check out you-tube and watch a few videos.
Basicaly the idea of a flash mob has turned from random bits of dance and entertainment to 50-100 people simotaniusley robbing/looting random corner stores and gas stations. I do not condone these acts (while I do think the videos are entertaining) and thought others may like to share opinions on this, so what do you guys think? I say its not long before a store owner pulls a weapon on these fools and we see mass casualties in a 7-11, how else are they gonna defend themselves against such a thing?
Is this happening in other counties or is this more of a U.S. based thing as of yet?

Sorry I still see the entertainment value in these videos (big fan of worlds dumbest lol). However I believe we are on the same page, that the next progression is going to be a store owner shooting at these groups of wild teens looting there store, untill than whats stopping them? The thought process must be "they cant catch all of us" I guess, but im not sure why nobodys wearing masks, idiots must not understand that there are cameras almost everywhere. Imagine if you were a cop and were first on scene to one of these calls best bet might be to baragade your cruiser against the door and lock them all in untill backup arrives, however that locks the loanly clerk and any possible legit patrons inside as posible hostages. Could you imagine going in to pay for gas or buy some smokes and 50+ kids run in and start looting the place!

As someone who very regularly has to deal with the kind of moron who thinks its acceptable to steal from and threaten those who work in customer service I do not find this remotely funny.
I see, all too often just how badly the people that do these jobs can be affected by even a minor incident and something such as this could have serious repercussions on the life of a completely innocent person who is not insured against any loss or injury and will receive nothing in compensation should they find themselves unable to work afterwards.
By simply reposting these videos you are glorifying these acts and only inciting more of this kind of action by the type of mindless cretins who make life difficult for those of us who work hard to earn a living.

Meh... understood. I did actually find myslef wondering why such videos remain on youtube, thinking along the same lines that actually seeing such a video would only insight further flash mob robberies sparking the mind of wasted youth. However that is enough self reflection into myself and will be reserved for another day when I feel more like looking back onto things I may or may not have done, that may or may not have been the "best choices"
I started this thread in thoughts of conversation and nothing more, please do not mistake this as approval to such acts

It's OK, you did call them fools after all, and you do raise the point that it won't be long before it turns really ugly, i.e, loss of life ugly. Had anybody thought you were glorifying the acts the thread would be closed by now!
As CTM said, these things can only go south. The robbers come with knives, so owners buy guns and before long the robbers have guns. It's exactly what's happened in the USA, and as much as the gun advocates, i.e NRA members, defend their position.. it's completely illogical. The argument is cyclical. You defend your home with a BB Bat, robbers bring knives. You buy a knife, robbers bring guns. You buy a gun and before long your kid has accidentally shot himself to death.
The arguments go back and forth while the only clear and logical answer is to smelt every single fkin gun in existence. Fortunately it's the one thing the UK government here at home has gotten right.
The only guns should belong to the Army and Specialist Police forces. Beyond that, they shouldn't even be made. The only reason these cocky little ****es think they can get away with robbing innocent people is because most people are too sensible to start an arms race where nobody wins. And most people are too decent to shoot somebody, even when they themselves are being robbed.
Personally, i have no such reservations. I would kill each and every one of the bastards given the chance. Which is exactly why we have gun control here!

I would swing like Babe Ruth if i thought a direct hit would save the life of someone i loved!
Tony Martin was jailed because we don't have the 'Castle doctrine' in this country. The biggest mistake he made wasn't to open fire on the assholes who tried to rob him. It was missing, and then not burying the bodies that messed up his life!
Like i said, it's a good thing that the law doesn't agree with me!

It's the law that you have in the US that say's you have the right to protect yourself in your own home, against those that would trespass or do harm against you on your property.
Somebody breaks into your home and you shoot them? Their fault!

Tragically, a recent case highlighted the flaws in this. Police went to an ex-Marines house, on false evidence that he was supplying drugs. Rather than knock on the door they tried to break it down. He thought that his home was being invaded, so to protect his family to picked up his rifle and opened fire on the 'intruders'. He was shot forty times.
What would you have done?
If neither he, or the police were packing guns, everyone would have lived!

That's what I thought you were referring to, and yes it is an epic fail, no matter how "justified" you are I doubt it's ever worth it. I have a friend who shot and killed an intruder, no charges ever filled however I know he well never be the same. Partially in a good way as his life wasn't always on the up and up and has since in ways changed for the better for both him and his family, but we'll never be the same.

These videos and the acts portrayed within are just terrible. I for one believe we need more small "mom and pop" stores, not less. Acts like these can very well cause someone innocent to be hurt (the morons doing these things NEED to be hurt....but I digress....) and drive these small stores out of business. Terrible, just terrible.
