After looking closely inside the USB port on the side of my incredible I noticed 7 little pins at the back of the connector. I assumed they were for the Headset / TV-out but since no cables exist yet I decided to make one and see if that was the case, also to see if the serial debug still exists. I did not have a headset handy to confirm the Mic and Switch inputs but I labeled them based on what I had found.
I have attached a pinout diagram as well as picture of the adapter I made to connect to the pins, sadly this is not an adapter you can make with your bare hands unless you have A LOT of time .
If you have the capability to etch or machine a board I attached a .zip file with a .DXF of the adapter
Text Version of Pinout
6- Microphone+ ? (unconfirmed but stays low unlike pin 10)
7- AGD Appears to be a common ground for AV / Headset
8- Right +
9- Left +
10- Headset Switch? (pin is high, assuming waiting for pull down=switch depressed)
11- Headset Detect to AGND (Displays headset icon, Mutes phone speaker, sends audio out connector)
12- Video Out+ / Sense (Autosenses video connection when connected to RCA jack, brings up TV out dialog on phone)

Apparently, some have reported it can be found in some Verizon stores... CODE: VZW6300TVOUT
so in your opinion, would any micro usb tv out rca cable work? I found a few on ebay that are for older LG phones.

From what I have seen, it looks like a custom micro USB style connector. Similar to how HTC developed the ExtUSB off of the MiniUSB standard.
I have not seen the official HTC cable, so I may not be correct.
XC
This is great info. Loaded with the connection info I may attempt to fabricate some kind of connection. Although Verizon or HTC are more likely to release their cable before I get around to this.

I mainly did this and presented it so people would stop wasting their money trying all sorts of cables and adapters because they simply wont work. My guess on the delay from HTC is some cable Mfg. had to completely re-tool their production line to handle the custom connector.
Presently the additional work (peeling extra copper) from the board after it is machined and labor of soldering wires makes it a total non-profit item and there is no USB connection so its not the most ideal connector. BUT... in the name of open source and the hardworking devs, If I can get the machine setup so that I dont have to peel them using an xacto knife and microscope I can send some out to those who are as impatient as I am and who aren't afraid to pick up a soldering iron.
Thanks for the feedback

I don't think they are the same connector but I cant find any good pics of them. the LG cable almost looks like it has pins that stick into sockets on the phone side to carry TV-OUT which woulndn't work for the incredible.
Nice work dude. It was cool to see this work.
I got it working too
With your pinout I decided to give this a try myself.
I made a cable by using a stranded RCA cable and some alligator clips and needles. This is a very temporary solution (I needed to hold the needles n the pins the whole time) and because this kept my hands occupied I could only take a picture from the Incredible itself
I cant wait till we get a cable for this (Official or unofficial)!
I took it a step further and made my own video out "cable". You can see the details and a video on my website: http://lanrat.com/android/incredible-video-out
Thanks again smokeynerd!
(Can't make a link since I'm a new member)
very nice mrlanrat your pics came out great. Kudos on your pin method, I can only imagine what that was like trying to take that first picture. The advantage to your ribbon method is that you could still get a USB connector in there. I initially tried using a ribbon out of a dead cd-rom which was also a very close match but my patience ran out
*** As a note to other readers, please take some basic caution if trying to interface, while everything seems pretty bulletproof I can't say what would happen if too many pins were inadvertently pulled down or shorted for too long. ***
smokeynerd, you have a pm
Someone should send this info over to the folks at Monoprice. They could probably get whatever companies they use to start cranking these out for cheap.
Since the Incredible and Nexus One are both very similar in hardware, does this possibly work with the Nexus One as well?

This is exactly what I was going to try, but haven't got around to it. I couldn't find a ribbon cable to match the pin spacing, mine were all too large.
Good job!
this is fantastic! @mrlanrat and @smokeynerd congrats on the great finds. Now I have a weekend project
Ok...I tried and failed....
I am able to press the correct pin and the tv icon pops up on my notification bar but there is no video signal
i have tried using the pin and alligator clip method and the ribbon cable method.
help please

would it be possible to machine a thinner board that would allow the micro usb to slip under it? almost like the ribbon cable idea?

Where I live, the gsm signal is quite weak...
Have anyone seen an antenna/signal enhancer I can use at home?
If not, is there any way to make one? Hopefully while still using the XDA-cradle?
Antenna coupling
There's no external antenna connector, but you could use a gadget that picks up the signal inductively. Like this one for instance:
http://www.expansys.us/product.asp?code=AXF-15S
Just make sure the box is really close to the antenna (i.e. almost touching it), and hook up an outside antenna to the FME connector. Depending on how desperate your situation is, you could put one of these on the roof:
http://www.yagi.ws/gsm.html
antenna at home
This is something similar to what’s discussed on
http://www.xda-developers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=421
Would this be hard to make? I had to send in my XDA to replace the screen, so I can’t test it now.
 Sounds like I could wrap some wire around the antenna(or some foil), and connect this to an antenna placed where the signal is stronger...
I am really sick of standing in a corner in my apartment to get a signal... My old Nokia had a weak signal, but the XDA has none and loose connection to provider.
well.....in theory you are right. A 'piece of wire' should do the trick but it's best to finetune it. To my shame I have to admit my HF (High Frequency) skill were never all that and certainly have become less the last years so I can't give you. I know it must start with a coil so running some wire around the antenna might work but you probably need a lot of experimenting to see what works best. Then there is the detail of what to do with the external antenna. Most of these 'antenna enhancers' are more frequently used to 'get out of the box' e.g. car/house/etc. where the metal frame behaves as Farradays cage. I'll stop now since lecturing physics has never been my strongest point and I probably have made some mistakes already
To come back to your case: realise that an antenna enhancer/extender will keep you pinpointed to a spot anyway or you will have to run around the house with a long piece of wire or you will be pinpointed at a fixed location inside your house. If a fixed point is not problem than you might consider a carkit because they have the external connection already available.... just hook up an antenna cable and an antenna and you are all set..... ehm... you also have to hook the power up. So you run into other problems as well.
 Last suggestion: buy a carkit and start living in a mobile home it's nice for touring around norway anyway
Robert
A piece of wire
"wrapping a piece of wire around the antenna, or a piece of foil" will almost certainly not work.
As climber pointed out, tuning is key here. The electromagnetic waves of the radio signal would only be transferred back into electric signals if the pickup was tuned to the signal. And because you'd be very close to the antenna, you would be in the so-called 'near-field', where the signal behaves even more strangely sometimes.
Given that these signals are at 900 or 1800 MHz, the theory behind signal propagation can be rather complex, and if someone else has already solved your problem, I would take their solution and use it. Unless ofcourse you aspire to be an RF-engineer (part applied-science, part voodoo). Anything you cook up yourself is likely to have a lot of signal loss.
Thanks
OK guys, I give up!
I'll get the "Antenna Coupler" from Nokia, I really don’t know anything about antennas, just thought there could be a simple solution
Thanks alot for swift comments! This site is amacing!
What about

You could give this a shot, but it's really not the same thing as coupling to a real outside antenna.
To good to be true?
Is this to good to be true? When you think it might be, it usually is...
I did a search and there are many variations on this product, here is one:
http://www.thesignalbooster.com
(They also have this product: http://www.theradiationblocker.com/ this MUST be a joke!)
Has anyone had any experience with the “signalbooster”?
XDA carkit use similar way of offering an external antenna
I have opened the XDA carkit cradle an found a piece of PCB connected to the coaxcial wire that leads to the connecor for an external GPS antenna. The PCB is positioned close to the XDA antenna,
Francois
And you (Francois) think the “signalbooster” will work?
It's quite cheap, I'll probably get one, but I'm still waiting for my XDA to get back from repairs. It could take some time.
I checked the nokia site in sweden and searched for the partnumber earlier mentioned. It seems they incorporate it in their handsfree kit. Having used 3 different handsfreekits so far for several phones with all good quality I assume it works fine.....
but.....
in cars the what-you-call-booster is more used as a way of getting the signal from outside the car straight to the phone, in a way it doesn't really have to boost the signal although most claim they do. So I am not 100% convinced it will solve your problem unless you are suffering from a situation where signals are received normally outside and are bad inside.
Confused :?:
Robert
Will the external antenna work?
I have no idea, where I live in Holland signal strength is ok, I do not need an external antenna and so I have never used it. On the other hand I think that it would work beacuse I can not imagine O2 implementing a external antenna connector to their carkit if it doesn't work...
Francois
You misunderstand
I don't think there are anything odd abbout the Nokia PCB-solution...
It's this thing I was thinking is to good to be true: http://www.thesignalbooster.com/
I probably have not made myself clear Francois.
There are at least two reasons I see for using an external antenna:
- boosting the signal
- making sure the signal is received/send outside of a Farraday cage.
They both make sense in both a car and a concrete walls house like many here in Holland.
I was just saying that the first one does not necessarily be the case for a carkit. But if the thing is called 'thesignalbooster' well.....it is either marketing or the next best thing to sliced bread
Robert
Hopefully someone will buy one (a signal booster) and try it out with the xda, and let us know the findings...
of course the next question is "will it fit inside!"
Aplologies for my "cross thread posting"....
(but I thought it was important)
- - - - - - - - - -
After a lot of research it seems the "as seen on TV" signal booster widgets (small PCBs) as suspected dont work.
http://www.bettercalls.com/
http://cellphones-accessories.com/cell-accessories/celphonpow24.html
This is a brilliant site where I found all the info:
http://www.criterioncellular.com/html/reception.html
Whats needed is either:
1) someone making a replacement antenna - as from the internal images shown on this website, it seems fairly easy to remove when dismantling the xda. Why not have a replacement one with an external FME antenna connector. This could then be attached to a small car type antenna.
http://www.tdc.co.uk/antennas/antenna_gsm.htm
apologies if my theories are a little optimistic on this... its just an idea.
2) Purchase of an external signal booster, which can be attached to a small antenna. Then directly plugged into a modified antenna (as 1 above)
3) A seperate re-radiator to boost the outdoor GSM signal inside the home, although this seems expensive! ($279)http://www.criterioncellular.com/html/cellular-amplifier-bda.html
4) as carlos suggested an inductive repeater, you can buy these for GPS systems, why not for GSM signals?http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=GPSW-RRAD-45
FVH - Have you noticed any difference with signal using the inductive coupler?
 [/b]

just seen the new "car kit" on o2's website...

can anyone whose got one post the info for the antenna here please!
i dont know when it happened but i noticed it today when my car charger stopped working. i looked at the usb port on the phone and noticed the usb terminal was partially bent downward. the phone still charges with the regular charger and still syncs, so until it completely stops working ill just leave it. PPCtechs will fix it for $80. htc told me that most likely it wont be covered under warranty but they need to look at it first to determine if i broke it. I asked the rep how do they determine that. At that point i realized it was a bunch of BS. he said the charge to repair is $305. and even if its not covered and i decide to let PPCtechs fix it, i still have to pay a $28 dollar inspection fee.
Shame, mine broke like that too but it was within a few days of getting it so T-Mobile changed the handset.
It really shouldn't be possible to break the USB connector. I know we should exercise care (and I do now!) but it's a critical point of failure. I still don't know how I broke mine.

Mine is bent a tad but still syncs fine. If you google you get thousands reporting this, but HTC doesn't fix it in new models. Cheap component. If it breaks on me I'll be getting another windows smartphone by a different mfr.
As nice as the HTC products are, such a critical component is made as poor as can be. If that point fails, you can't charge your phone or perform sync functions. This means a bricked device. What gives?
yea im already looking for a replacement device. my last nokia had a rare joystick failure. im not even sure what to get next. i waited way too long for this phone to release and paid top dollar to have it when it first came out. now i finally have my phone set up perfect and its broken.
Same thing here... hasn't broken yet but it's slightly bent on on the right side of the mini usb on the phone.
here is the direct number to htc. 425-861-9174. once i find the right person to talk to i give the ext. maybe if more than one person callls the same person at htc they will give in.

I am also on my way to a Broken USB. I know how my USB broke and it was pretty dumb. I have been in a dark place many times and pushed the stylus in the port (upper right corner). I have moved it back into place and put a little Super Glue in there. I don’t think this will last. So I was just wondering if the USB problems everyone is having could be caused from the same. I am looking for a cover to prevent this from happening again and if anyone knows of one please let me know. DUHHHHHHH!
If anyone ends up with a broken usb port and wants to sell the phone please PM me...I know someone that can fix it (had to have it fixed on my mda) and would like to upgrade my old phone.

I found this place that does HTC repairs. Positive feedback from people on other forums.
http://pocketpctechs.com/main~unit~HTC_Kaiser-71~area~repairs.htm
Since I paid $400 for my phone, worth the $60 pricetag to have this repaired if it breaks. Just thought others would like to know if they ever meet the cold reality.
In my book it is poor business practice to design core components cheaply , so that it will inflate sales when failures occur. (So that you or your carrier will have to eat the cost when a USB port breaks. Pure profit for HTC)
Definitely makes me angry the port is so cheaply made. Of all things on a phone to be cheaply made. Make the PTT button we never use cheap, make the camera cheap (since it's not amazing anyway), make anything cheap BUT the USB port.
The USB port is the central way to charge the phone, apply updates, sync it, it's the lifeblood of the phone. Without it, the phone is trash unless repaired. But thats probably the whole point.
Make cheap USB port
Breaks
Carrier foots cost for buying replacement phone for customer. (Or customer foots cost)
PROFIT FOR HTC!
Wow... I thought it was just me. Here's a pic of mine, I think it shows it pretty well. Like I said before, it's still works fine... doesn't look very pretty though. I've been babying my Tilt and haven't had any maltreatment. This is just from normal wear and tear...

Looks like a picture of my tilt with the USB bent in the exact same way.
A coworker checked out my new phone the second day I got it and said "You already bent your USB?" and I had to b.s. and say "No the plug is designed that way" he was like "ahh.... thats not right."
HTC oughta fixit!

..cuz you must have accidentally poked the stylus in the usb port while meaning to poke into the reset hole. I've had this happen a couple of nights ago while driving where I had to reset the device and in the dark I pushed the stylus in the usb port a couple of times instead of the reset one.. I only realized this when I synced the device next and found it to not recognize it and also not charge via either the computer or wall charger. So, I looked at the usb port and there it was.. slightly bent down from the right edge of the inner pins.
Whether its flimsy or not (which I totally agree that it is after my gentle inserting of the stylus just a couple of times) HTC should have given a rubber/soft cover for the port. Would make a lot of difference.
I managed to fix mine for now though.

You are probably right... don't remember doing this but it sounds like the likely cause.
sorry to hear that a few people are quick to blame themselves. the only place i accidentally put my stylus is between the keyboard and the display. i did that twice. i rarely use the stylus and unike others i would have remebered it. mine does look exactly like the one in the pic. in another forum i was told it was designed to be bent? anyway bad design imho and sice im not the only one thbks should be fixed. i build and sell 500-700 thousand dollar homes. when someone is unhappy i sometimes have to bite the bullet and take it out of my pocket. its called good business.
anyone get theirs fixed yet? now none of my charge and sync cable works. The only cable that works is the original charger and the original sync cable.im sure i will have to get this repaired soon. i have called HTC corporate but nothing so far.
fixed mine..
I had the same thing happen to mine after 2 weeks of ownership. I took it to a ATT dealer and he tried a different charger and nothing worked. He said its a dead USB port and to exchange it. Mine looked that picture above as well.. I ended up fixing it by taking a flat edge butter knife and gently straightening it out so it was flat again. I plugged it in and bingo worked like new. I can't believe that these ports are so sensitive.
the usb port on my 8125 broke a long time ago and i just went to a repair shop.. he fixed it with a brand new one in about 20 min and charged me 35 bucks.
Im considering buying this cradle
http://www.expansys.com/d.aspx?i=194466
As I have a £15 voucher to spend at expansys and I thought it would be useful and nice to get a cradle. I dont want to spend much over the free £15 and so this one came to my attention It looks quite nice, I did have one thought though, how will it fair when flashing ect.. does it act just like a usb cable or will it have problems going through the flashing process?
Also I want to get some peoples opinions on it,
Thanks in advance

Looks identical to the one I bought from Clove the other day. Only difference is that yours seems able to charge a spare battery as well.
The stand has a low centre of gravity and appears robust. The plastic guard at the back helps locate the device onto the connector AND hold the device securely in place.
On mine you can sync and charge at the same time provided you use the charging device that should come with the stand.
Is this enough detail for you or do you want more?

It connects via the micro usb and the 3.5mm headphone socket. There is a 3.5mm socket on the back so that you can put it through external speakers. The only downside is that if you dont connect it to external speakers then you dont hear the phone if call or message comes in as it thinks its connected to a headset (not a big problem for me as i ignore most until im ready to speak or reply to them). It holds my HD2 solidly .

Not used my version of the stand for anything else yet other than charging the device and syncing/file transfer routines which it does well. Can't see why running in bootloader mode should be a problem but I have not tried it yet.
As I said mine is the one from Clove not the one you are on about; however, apart from the spare battery slot, they look very very similar.
Why don't you just order it and give it a try. If you don't like it then send it back under the 7 day distance selling rules and get your money back (I am assuming you live in the UK).

Yeah maybe your right, I should just go for it, I will probably go for that cheaper one, (the first one I posted) as if you look at the other one a couple of posts up, it would cost me £20 instead of £10 (with vouchers applied) and the only difference appears to be (havent fully read through it yet) the speaker? which isnt a big deal to me.
And I would appreciate if you could test the bootloader/flashing, of course your not obliged to as I know its a pain, but I would really appreciate it (maybe flash a radio?)
And yeah, UK
hey guys iv just replaced the USB bored on my note. didn't take long at all and followed a video on YouTube. basically iv replaced it put the antenna back on it and now it wont pic up a signal at all just shows up as a circle with a cross through.

EDIT:
I have noticed that there is a missing part on the new bored but I assumed its would be fine as it me be and after market replacement. But with the new bored installed I don't get signal or sound from the rear speaker! It does charge in my computer and from the wall but it's now a bit tedious with no signal and no sound.
Broken port board -
New board -
any advice would be massively grateful

Not very difficult to deduce that you made a mistake when replacing it. No you should follow the video on YouTube for possible repairs - to be honest: I think now would be a good time for a repair center - not ruin more by trying yourself.

Tbh theres n9thing that can go wrong its a simple unscrew of 9 screws to take or the back plastic.
Then 3 screws to take the speaker casing off, then take off the ribon cable and atenna.
Install then new one.
Its £60 at the repair centre as the it was broken because of the previous owners fault and cannot be mended under warrenty.

If there's nothing that can go wrong: why do you have a problem?
Re: need help with signal
Well there shouldn't be anything wrong I should say but it's just a bit weird iv just put in the old chip bored with the broken usb slot and that pics up signal.
Yet the new one charges fines yet doesn't pic up signal

I hope you find a solution and can use your device again.

You got a bunk board.
You need to get a new board from a more reputable manufacturer.
---------- Post added at 03:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:49 AM ----------
I think that your replacement is NOT OEM. Look at the labeling.
Mine looks exactly like your. The only thing I've noticed with mine, is although I have a signal, in places where I never dropped before, it drops
out. Does anyone know if the "tape" on the factory one is conductive, and is acting like some sort of passive radiator for the GSM antenna?
It will peel off the old board. I noticed that both my original & replacement (I've since ordered another board from a different vendor) have the
same revision stamps & other info. Both boards appear identical, except for the gray/silver tape. The factory one has it, the replacement
does not.
Well they guy I got it from on eBay told me it was an oem and art but now looking at it its missing a chip as on the oem part there are 3 in a line the new one doesn't have the middle one and yeah it doesn't have the foil on the back either and I think this my be a factor as well
I got the new board for £8.99 as well so I wouldn't have thought it was a genuine oem part.

Iv asked the guy for a refund but now he's started to give weak reply back. He's only selling this board but tbf it is my fault as well as I went on what he said and also he has the oem part photo.
I'm gonna have a look for one on amazon as I never normally use ebay.
This is what his page looked like as I capt it and the oem photo he's using. My bad tho really

if he is not replying back then you can report to the ebay about this deal in which you have mistakenly bought a faulty board with the bank transaction no. and can ask them to help you get a refund?

Here is a dealer on ebay who does sell exact part with the tape in the back
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-USB-Cha...153?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ac1421059
Now I just came to realize that the 2 usb ports I bought from china don't have the antenna tape in the back, other than that, the part is exactly the same. My replaced part works good, charges the phone and antenna works fine. BUT BUT...Now that the OP mentioned about lack of signal and the other person mentioned about dropped calls; I seem to have the same issue. My signal was weak to begin with in my office now I have almost no signal in my home as well. In order to make calls, I have to be next to a window. I am wondering if the antenna tape in the back really does make the difference in getting good signal and bad. I am not sure as I live in dominican republic and the signal changes from time to time as the cell company turns on a tower and shuts off another one to reduce costs. I wonder if anyone could check the tape in the back to see if its just a plastic take or some sort of metal reflective material? I wonder if I can make something similar to improve my signal. Unfortunately I threw away my original bad part so I can't go back to it to compare the difference in the new and old usb port. So please if you are going to peel off the tape from the back of USB port board of your n7000, take pictures and do list your observation.
Note to the person who says there is a missing chip on the new board::
you had mentioned there was a chip missing on the new board. I saw that AT&T i717 charging port has 3 chips so you may have the wrong usb port to begin with.

The reason iv noticed about the oem bored having three chips is because I took it to a friend at and ex local Sammy repair store. The ones he had in had the exact same tape on the back and the three chips in a row.
If you look at my replacement there isn't any rape and there's only 2 chips. What I'm thinking is that the missing chip must be for sound and the tape on the rear must be fore the antenna? Just a guess. He wants £20 for that chip and tbf I didn't get it because I didn't have the cash on me at that time hence I got the one on eBay.
Regarding your signal, must be due to the network and not down to the board I'm assuming as my note atm has got the new chip in so I can at least charge it without having to take out the battery. When I have the new board in I don't get any signal at all it only shows up as a circle with a link through. So if your picking up signal, sound and can charge you must have the right one I assume?

I'm going to tell a very disturbing story about HTC One
So, I got an HTC One like over a month. Everything's going great, amazing phone, lovely front camera. Just a week later, I got the Pink Tint issue. I rooted the phone, and installed the BadBoyz ROM (Sprint). I thought the camera was a software issue but nope, the ROM didn't helped about the Pink Tint camera. So, I decided that I'm gonna have to stick with this issue, since I live in Bangladesh, there's no official HTC store/retailer. So I got over with it.
Last week, my brother was testing an old Audio system, pretty old, like it's 15 years old, nonetheless, he was using an A/V Cable (Red, White input with 3.5mm output) and my HTC One. The phone's output was superb, he tested the Audio set couple of times. As he had to pull out the 3.55m jack a couple of times. After few attempts, just when he plugged in the jack, there's a static noise coming from the speakers, tried to play a music, found that only the RIGHT channel works. I instantly plugged in my earphones and found to have the same problem. Alas, I tried 5-6 earphones, but no help. There's absolutely no way that it's gonna play properly.
And to make it worse, my screen locked, I tried to unlock it, but it won't unlock or show anything. I had about 35% of charge. My phone won't Boot at all. I tried going to bootloader menu no help, I tried pressing the Power and Volume buttons for 5 minutes, no help at all. I became heartbroken. I plugged in my chargers for 1 hour, the red LED won't blink, I plugged in the USB cable to PC, no nothing. Next day I took it to a local shop, they said " We have to open your phone and check whether the battery's ok or not". Without proper disassembling tools, they opened the phone, and found out that an IC(beside the battery) became short, so they pumped it up, and voila the phone was working, I told them about the earphone jack issue, they said, the only way to fix the earphone jack is to get the whole set from another HTC One. And since it's a new phone in my country(came 3-4 months ago) there's no spare parts available.
NOW, I'm STUCK WITH MY EARPHONES not working. After assembling, the phone looks pretty crap, as there are some open spaces over the volume button. NOW, MY PHONE LOOKS SHI*T.

Ouch man, that's rough. I'm not sure what to tell you other than I hope something can be done about it soon. But if it makes you feel any better, I went four months applying to jobs with no phone because my original HTC evo shorted out and my contract wasn't up for the next three months. That was fun... but once they have more phones in, they should indeed do something about it.
Sounds like you're Bad Luck Brian.
I wanna see pics
Bro the problem is your from Bangladesh using a top of the line phone, people don't have crazy phones like that there, so obviously repairing it will be an issue?
I might sound harsh but I used to live in Pakistan and I had similar issue with my video games. :crying:
What you should have done is, send it outside the country to get it fixed properly, did you try contacting HTC about what they can do?
P.S. What do you do when your PC parts malfunction, how do you handle warranty claims then?
What exactly does pumping up an integrated circuit mean?

In my country, there are lots of experts for iPhone(they can disassemble and iphone and fix your lock screen button and re-assemble it within 5 minutes) , Samsung but for HTC they are very amateur. And there's official retailer shop of Apple and Samsung but not HTC. I really love HTC because of their build quality. iOS is **** and samsung is plastic XD.
And for PC parts, we have official retailers of all products.
@akrod2as : I'm not sure myself, the mechanic said that there's a problem with the voltage, when he connects the both ends with a electronic meter, there's no response from 2 different points, but other points are fine, so he had to work on those points. He used a soldering iron to fix it.
Ok those pics aren't as bad as I thought it'd be but still that's pretty bad lol
