Just was wondering if we will see the official release this week. I have two
EPE54B Nexus ones. Cant wait to see the official update.
Please use the search feature. There are a lot of posts that talk about this.
I've read all the threads just havent seen any updates. And I also know I can run the update.zip on my EPE54B Nexus Ones its just to buggy right now.
I've been running the "test" froyo on my nexus since the day it was on xda. I hated loosing my beloved cm rom, but the switch was so worth it. As far as buggy, I have yet to hit any real issues, just better battery life & speed. Only annoyance is the few apps that have problems. Froyo updates are rolling out every day for those though. So until the source code is dropped, & cyanogen gets ahold of it. I'm loving this version of froyo.

Google has people watching all the boards. Every time someone asks this question they push it back another day. At this rate we'll get the official OTA early q1 2012.
Guess we will never get it. LOL

Maybe there have been no updates because...there have been no updates . Besides, you could just post in the already existing threads for updates, no need to start a new one.

Tomorrow. No really, tomorrow. You have to make a thread about it or Google wont release it.
Well to be honest I havent found any Official Android 2.2 update threads. The only one I found is Froyo leaked or Official we all know its a test release.
Also there is nothing wrong with starting a new thread I've done my reserch on the update and just though people could voice some opinions.
You should flash the test version. I'm usually very anxious when updates are looming but I could wait another couple of months after flashing the test update. I have some issues but very very minor, go for it OP, you'll probably forget all about the official update. Ok not really but it helps alot
Google annouced at the IO conference to expect the update at the beginning of June, the beginning of June is tomorrow. Patience is a virtue
I might give the Test update a try my wife has the Nexus with the unlocked bootloader so I would have to either put it on hers or unlock the virgin Nexus that I have. I have Cm on hers and she loves so unless I de virginize mine I'll just have to wait for the official update.
So wait..... no one else got it? I updated last night!

I spoke with LG Latvia (on twitter), they told that our 2.3 version (BALTICS) most likely will come out next month or even November.
Well, that certainly sucks for us. I hope EUROPE OPEN version will come out earlier.

Gingerbread will gonna boost some performance for sure. I've experienced this with galaxy ace. LG singapore has announced 2.3.x OTA for some phones, i'm sure our phone is next and i believe our devs will be excited.

I think you should not sell your OB, coz it has nice hardware. and it is still competitive to other high end phones. especially when you use Cyanogenmod ROMS and other really nice ROMS (like Nova )
By the way, Gingerbread update here in Philippines will be on October.

Yup. I'm pretty sure. I've saw a poster in store (memoexpress) that Gingerbread update will on October for both Optimus 2x and Black.
Now that Ricardo is going straight for ICS on our P970s, I thought it would be better if we had a thread for this instead of clogging up the CM7 discussion thread.

sweet, hope we get it soon.
Please don't turn this thread into a SPAM thread, or ask questions like "when will it be released". We'll have it once it's ready, and you asking about that won't help anyone so please don't. Let's keep this one clean with only announcements or actual facts in regards to ICS development. Thanks
How come we "discuss" a rom by just watching pics and vids and not installing it.. .
I guess we may be able to though... in couple of days.
This is great! Too bad he didn't continue the video on the Browser Portion. It's where we can see if ICS hardware acceleration works on OB by judging the smoothness of the scrolling. I heard ICS needs new driver for existing GPUs but i hope I'm wrong.
Most of changes are approved and merged into git repository. I think we're getting ICS soon on next nightlies together with O3D, maybe. cmiiw
I don't think it will be in the next nightly ! because it's CM7 nightly and ICS will be CM9.
Maybe in another branch (or not, because I think it's nude ICS for the moment...)
can not wait to test ASAP
ICS YEAH
Can't wait to test ICS on my awesome P970 .
Proud to be Portuguese :b Big up Ricardo!
We are NOT getting CM9. It hasnt even been released yet. Right now all the roms you will see pop up are ICS roms ie pure google. It wont be in the same branch as the CM7 nightlies
i wanna test too so bad
Yeap different branch... so be patient all

I think the OB menu key will become redundant in ICS 4.0. I wish the menu key can be mapped to Recent Apps for Galaxy Nexus like experience.

Guys, the LGMobile tool just prompted me that there is an update available on my phone. I'm running the stock rom v10d ever since. Haven't rooted mine from the beginning. And look what I have? Is this it? Is this Gingerbread? Have you checked yours?
Damn! So excited! Unfortunately, I couldn't update now. My internet connection is really slow. I'm afraid it would cause problem. Might as well try this tomorrow evening.
Here's a picture of it for proof. Check the date of my computer. I'm telling the truth! ****! Can't wait!

I'm so excited! Damn! I don't have a stable internet connection as of the moment. Under maintenance. I'm having disconnections. If only, I could update now and tell you guys what this is. Sigh! Might as well wait for tomorrow, I mean later. Hehe! Yeah! I really hope this is it!

As the guys already stated, this is NOT gingerbread. Europe, as announced, will get Gingerbread first. Europe did not yet get it, so that is just v10e or some other froyo variant. Wait for further news on when it will be updated in Europe and you will be able to install it as well.
Can't you also read?
I said I'm on v10d! That's the latest firmware in our phone. v10e for Europe, v10d in Asia. How can then it be another variance? Lol! The difference is the letter. And the letter depends on what country you are in. But we all have the same. And it's the latest. If you're not mistaken, then this is probably another upgrade of Froyo before Gingerbread. Or this is really Gingerbread. You wouldn't know. I wouldn't know. Too bad I have an unstable internet connection as of the moment. Luckily, if everything is fixed I can update later. They say that Europe gets Gingerbread first but what are the odds that Asia would receive the update first before Europe? Before pushing something there, just try to understand and think of the instances. This is not a speculation by the way. I'm just saying. And I have proof of the notification for an update.
#ihatepeoplelikeyou
Going out
I'm heading off. I'll try to update later this morning or in the afternoon if I'm not that busy. And then I'll tell you guys what it is. If anybody here gets the notification same as I did, please do share if you already have updated.
This post is useless like ton of other posts that said they have lg update notification that endly is froyo update.
Lg update notifications are buggy, so if you don't have installed and verify that you really have 2.3, posting that you have lg notification means nothing.
So, there is no proof if under country name isn't a V20. Even lg pcsync was saying new update, but after reading the phone sw all stops saying it's up to date. Korea got an update, but phones are not compatible. China did too, but with a test version

Rooted, obtained the update and pushed it through ADB update, then installed CM to get it. I didn't see an option for that in your poll so I thought I would just type it out.

Could also have used a "Where are you?" question, or maybe that is somewhere else.
My guess is that it gets rolled out region by region.

There wasn't a poll here initially, now it's useful with a poll, which the other one doesn't have.
Makes me wonder though, it's insane that only ~2% have gotten the update from OTA based on this poll. It sure looks like something went wrong with the rollout. One guy out of 60 voters.
There is no way that the OTA has begun yet.
I am not rooted and would prefer the OTA, so we wait.

Google posted 4.1.2 factory images, so if something went wrong then it must be the OTA process itself. If something was wrong with the 4.1.2 build then they wouldn't have posted factory images (at least I hope). So I don't really care, 4.1.2 works for me

Yeah, but this poll keeps getting votes and its still less than 2%. I've seen a lot of Google rollouts before and this is the slowest it has been after more than just a day. Especially for a minor update like this. In this tempo it would take two months for everybody to get an update.
At least the numbers imply that something went wrong.
So they are still lagging behind iOS with the updates. Don't release it for developers early and don't roll it out to users once final.
I suggested this to Android devs on Google+ hangouts and they actually liked the idea to push OTA updates to registered devs on Google Play early. But this won't happen anytime soon.

I'm waiting for the new batch of Notes to arrive and got me wondering if Samsung might or could do something to stop root. It doesn't seem like they could or really have the time to worry about it with all the problems currently. Also, with a bit of a bad stigma, do you think they will sweeten any deals to get people to buy these former bombs. Personally I love that Samsung is taking a hit and getting knocked down a peg. I still love these phone but all of the sudden the 1% rooting community has a little bigger effect on sales.
That tiny routing community... against the fees they can make from Samsung Pay. Think about it.

There are August and September Android security patches that the Note 7 didn't get. Anyone short of a Samsung project engineer that thinks they can answer that question is probably full of it.
I think a lot would have to change to make the kernel leak not work. And yes , I don't think Samsung will care about us tweakers still but I still like war ching Samsung squirm just a little.
I think the real question is will Samsung be updating this phone at all or will it become the unwanted step child

No I haven't took the update. I'll let somebody else be brave and try that one. Hopefully jovy puts out an updated rom with the new firmware.
The new update is not rootable and you won't be able to go back to PGC if you take the update. If you really want root i advise you to NOT let the rep power on/ setup your phone.....it will likely grab the update and you'll be doomed. Best practice: Do not place sim in device OR connect to wifi Until you have root.

A little extreme lol... The update is 400mb so on LTE that will still take a bit to download, which you have the option to pause for quite a while (this is what I did while I rooted it). You just need to pay attention to the phone.
