The radio rom is only for the cell radio.. Nothing else. Use the above links for more information.
What? No its not. The radio ROM controls the cellular radio, the GPS and the camera. With an incorrect radio for whichever hardware revision of the kaiser you have, one radio may not allow your phone to boot or may not let the camera or GPS work. Its not JUST for the cell radio.
If you're so smart why didn't you add sound in the list of things I didn't cover?
And regardless, the correct info was in the linked posts..
There is an encyclopedia @ bottom of forum for future reference

I upgraded my Vodafone-branded Kaiser to 6.1 using the Voda ROM - since when I;ve been unable to get an HSDPA signal, even though 3G and GPRS work fine. Have they broken or disabled it? Obviously, I've enabled HSDPA and restarted the device etc...
Can't find anyone else with this problem after a search so would appreciate a steer. Thanks.
Me too.
Upgrade from official WM6.0 ROM to official WM6.1 ROM, and now only 3G, no more HSDPA.
Regards!
Do you have HSDPA enabled on the new ROM? There is a setting in Kaiser Tweak and also the HSDPA option in Settings>Connections.
Failing that, try changing your radio. You will have changed radio between WM6 and WM6.1. Maybe another WM6.1 Radio will work.

As I said, I've enabled HSDPA via KaiserTweak and the in-built app (both of which seem to do the same thing) but nothing changes. The radio is set to Auto. What else can I tweak?
You might want to try flashing a new Radio.
You can find a collection in the Kaiser Radio link in my Sig.

Probably depends on Location and Carrier, post both those and someone might be able to help. If not, just try a few, you can always revert back to your current Radio.

See my response to your post in the Ultimate Radio thread.
Many thanks for the info!
Hey,
Im very new to winmo and finding it hard to get answers through search so needa nudge in the right direction ^_^
I tried installing EnergyROM-RHODIUM-20090829-StandardM2.5 and Radio_Rhodium_4.46.25.24. All installed fine but im having network connection issues...
Are there roms that differ from the wwe in network support? or should all roms work on all networks? i cant find a single rom that lists what it supports so im thinking they all support everything? Under network type in band sellection it now shows wcdma where i think it use to show hsdpa or something similare, am i imagining it?
Next qustion is radio talk about rilphone.dll, iv downloaded 3 of the radios in "[Resources] Rhodium Radio Collection Thread " and none have included the rilphone.dll like the thread suggests, is it automatically installed when you run the flash? if not how do i find out which version is currently installed?
Much much thanks in advanced
went back to origonal WWE and i could get 3g again, went back to matching first version radio and it inscreaed my reception so there is some diff ^_^
Can anyone give me enough info to figure it out or point me in the right direction?
Please post ROM problems in the relevant thread.
Closed.
Dave
Please note:
1. This is the latest Blackstone radio ROM 1.17.25.09 imported for Xperia X1 -- hex-edited by me.
2. There is no guarantee that your reception/GPS etc will improve dramatically (or at all), but it does give me better HSDPA where I live in the country side.
3. Remember you must have you X1 hard-spl with the olinex hard-spl. You may brick your X1 if you haven't done HARD-SPL.
4. As others over @ XDA have confirmed you NEED security unlock our x1 to flash other devices' radios.
5. Finally, as this is an imported Radio, the correct version info will NOT be updated on your device. It will flash, but your X1 will still show previous radio version.

Cleaned up the link in post #1. Sorry folks
is there a rilphone for this or should we use the 1.14 one?
Thanks for that!!
Installed it... Working great so far on Rogers in Montreal: Tethered internet on H at 4 bars - nice!
Also, seems to be running less hot.
I'll test the GPS and battery tomorrow.
Note: I was on 1.16.25.48 before, in case someone wondered, and just HARD-SPLed, no other unlock.
Nice thanks. Gonna run it for a week or so and see how it is compared to 1.14
Why after installation information remains 1.16.25.48? help me

Just read the first post of this thread...!!!
Once again, what about the rilphone in this raadio?
I have not read the first page, I'm sorry, I do not intend to spam
RIL
@all
Yes it may be best to match RIL to radio, but in this case, there is no rilphone.dll yet. I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, that there was no corresponding ROM that you could dump. I currently use 1.14.22.55 found here. There is a newer ril for 1.16 for X1, but most had worse results. But get it here and try for yourself.

The webstation is not founded....
Mirror link in post#1 added
Sorry, I know you may not be able to access it from China.
Would be awesome if someone would kindly provide another mirror link
I decided to give this radio a try after noticing couple of HOFOers on Rogers network posting ok results (and having not so good experience with 1.16 Korean one). And I should confirm the radio seems better than stock 1.14 in terms of signal strenght (doesn't fluctuate as much and compares to my other phones now). It also keeps "H" during data connections steadier. Speed is also fine - 1.16 couldn't go past 3Mbps download for example. SMS, bluetooth, video calling, GPS - everything seems to functioning normal too. I am using the name display hack and rilphone.dll from Rogers Diamond (found on this forum). My ROM is WCX 23016 NCE pure series.
Let's see how will be power consumtion - the last key factor. If that's fine this radio will be a keeper!
speed test result with new radio (comparable if not better than stock 1.14):
Thank you. Downloading now. Do I need to back up my phone before I flash?

Not really
Hi everyone,
Been using my BA for years now(4th one so far ) runing Sundreams 6.1 with radio version 1.06.02
Rom 6.141WWE HT4.20
ExtROM Black Kernel
rom Date 10/31/08
I know the latest radio version is 1.15 and here is my NOOB question
should I upgrade my radio version to 1.15 ???and BT version to whatever is latest or availabe??
I just dont know why?
Have no problem with it as is other than all the usual 6.1 glitches(wlan/ no radio after battery removed)
OOh right While I am asking, Why an earth I loose voip config after a soft reset? I use wm6 voip drivers and Sip conf tool by Shaun33 version 2.0.1 once i configure it works ok if I soft reset I have to re enter all the config via this tool otherwise no voip!! Any ideas?
many regards
It has some advantages (especially over the one that you have). Better voice quality, better signal, slightly better battery life, among other things.
As far as the voip, I cannot help you there, but if you go to the thread where you got this, I am sure someone had your same issue.

Thanks for your reply, Can radio be upgraded regardless of the windows version running. I have all the files to do the upgrade but not sure if its ok to do so whilst running wm6.1 Sundreams version or does it needs to be reverted back to wm2003 etc etc.
Thanks
the radio rom is independant from the OS Rom. technically, you don't even have to hard reset afterwards.
I cannot find any threads related to this. is it correct that radio rom is a separate part than system rom? if so where do I download a good stable one and how do I flash it?
i have 826x rom and radio ver. 1.14.25.55 and I have poor 3g signal (switches to edge whereas other phones are stable on 3g same network) and also sometimes it looses signal completely so I usually have to reconnect m:anually (switch off and on the radio function)
yes radio rom is a sperate part than system rom.
You can flash it the same way like x826 rom and hardspl
here are the radio roms: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=720455
