What is the difference from Alcaline's build? What programs/features are added? Both are the same radio and OS versions.

The builds are the same as the Alkaline version. from the images I cant find any differences. Can you please update with what has changed since the alkaline build? or is it just the same but by someone else?

Some items are still in chinese
The build installed great and works BUT, the ENTIRE bluetooth area is in Chinese still. Also the date format is in chinese as well as the VoiceMail speed dial entry. I'm still playing with this but if anybody knows how to get bluetooth back in english let me know.

windows live is in chinese as well. how do i get everything back in english?

seems like there is missing some language files in this rom..

I'm having trouble downloading you'r ROM fron FS2You. Always getting "too many downloads". Is it possible for you to upload to XDA FTP or maybe a mirror.

new android market update ISSUE!
if this has been addressed somewhere else im terribly sorry but ive looked as best i can and am frustrated!
i the new market update 3 app has a bug that renders previously compatible installed apps INCOMPATIBLE...WHY? is there a version i should use i dont know about?
i guess id still be considered an android noob, but ive been on the fast track sotospeak and am close...
anyways, i just re-installed the OLD ver of market and PRESTO! all the incompatible apps are now again compatible on my htc rooted evo shift running gb 2.3.3...
can anyone please tell me if there a rc fix or at least what the deal is?! again, if this info is somewhere else please, please forgive me....

by mistake i`ve downloaded wm pcsuite ... but now for android it`s on the way . i`ll give a try , sounds nice . by the way , right now i`m using myphone explorer which is not that bad .

i got the same issues in market with incompatible errors.
the big answer is to change the lcd_density back to the default value of 240.
don't forget to reboot.
and then .. tadaa it works

that android pc suite doesn`t work ... what do i need ? can`t get connected and get stucked in my monitor loading ... is there another app for phone ? and the chineese language that i have to switch it all the time ... tx !

I don't think KL"X" series support Chinese, firmware version depends on marketing areas. For supported Chinese firmwares, u should stick into KK1 or Original Stock ROM.
It is just English Menu for me, I use 3rd party ROM without Chinese menu as well. I can use Chinese IME (GO KEYBOARD) for imputing Chinese, the only problem is no Chinese sorting

some mod euro mod rom have your mother language 中文，中文（繁体）and中文（中华人民共和国修改特别行政区）. However these three choice just change some apps language, very few and some app just has changed its app name but the UI still English. And the contactor can only sort by alphabet not Chinese Charactor. And build-in IMEs are all for European countries and no Chinese input. And I dont know the word "support " means what? And UI and build-in apps can be displayed Chines?
I am using ROCKET ROM - v12 and set the language to Chinese Simplified. Installed the Chinese input and the quick dialer(来电通 v2.0.0.6). This quick dialer is good cause you can dial by name's first "pinyi" letter. But not perfer to upgrade to 3.0. Maybe you can find in some forums not the market because the latest version there.

He is saying that in a previous version of this rom (f.y.i. 1.0), there was a bug and it is fixed now in version 1.2

Thank you very much. Now it is clear..! Neither am I native Engish speaker though..

RTL languages in ICS

Using Slim ICS. Its an amazing ROM. But only one thing is missing. The developer had removed languages to slim down the ROM. Any idea how can I add arabic/urdu (or RTL) language support?

Are you Refering to the language(Arabic)(Urdu) or just RTL fix for these?

I can see the fonts, but they are disjoint.. So i guess just the fix.

ICS already has built in support for arabic etc.. the problem is a missing font!
Just copy it in system/fonts and reboot and you are done!

turn out, my phone can read the arabic language, but cannot write it with proper RTL
copied some word from arabic website, the result will be disjointed

I have Samsung Galaxy S2, bought in Saudi Arabia. I rooted my phone and flashed a custom ICS ROM. I can write and read Arabic in most of the applications, but the application tQuran would give me disjoint Arabic letters. Any idea? It was not like that in the stock GB ROM.

SlimICS has all other languages removed, so in other words: Just adding a font won't help. You'll need to implement the language into the Framework, SystemUI and all other system apps by morphing them. DJSound managed to pull this off in the next version of TiramiSlim (It's pretty much SlimICS but with loads of extra options thanks to AROMA).
